Last week I didn’t get up in time and the trash folks came early on Thursday. This week I put the trash container out in the street at 6PM tonight (Wed), which means that they’ll show up about 1 or 2 PM tomorrow.
Got my prescriptions filled at Walgreens’, I used to use CVS but apparently Blue Cross/Shield of Alabama took them off the list, so I have to get used to using another store. So now I have a one-a-day blood pressure pill (wee little pills) and some ear drops that I am supposed to “lie on my side, pull my earlobe up and out, and put five drops in and keep them in there for 3-4 minutes.” And do this twice a day. Guess I know when I will be doing it.
flytrap I’m good at both sloth and gluttony. I need to work on the others.
On that note we shall now retire to the boudoir to watch teevee until sleepy time. Sleepy time may not be long in comin’ as I am yawnin’ my haid off as I post.
For some work I did at Da Jungle during Peak I am getting rewarded with a day off with pay; something almost unheard of here. Catch is I have basically one week to use it. Since the OW is burning another gotta-use vacation day next Tuesday I picked that.
The drive down was hell. I kept saying I just want to close my eyes for two minutes, just two minutes. But I kept them open.
I also blew past two police cars, and neither one came after me.
I had a nice catch up with family. Some of us exchanged numbers and promised to keep in touch, knowing damn well we won’t, but it feels good to say we will.
I made pretty good time, and hour and a half down, and two hours back home.
I stopped at TacoHell on the way home and got a naked chicken chalupa. I paid cash for it then, and I’m still paying for it.
**FCD **got home shortly after 7 last night and since his coworker had driven, he wasn’t nearly as fried, which was good. He was also happy with the sushi - go me. He’s sleeping in this morning.
**sari **- just out of meaningless nosiness - was the funeral home the one starting with McC? That’s where my cousin’s visitation was.
Today will be mostly wasted. We’ve got a team meeting at 10 and a building-wide luncheon at 1. Ah well… Weekend’s almost here.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 40 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 64 and N.O.S. for the day. More rain is predicted for Sattidy. We shall see. I have to be at the eye doctor at nine this mornin’. I decided a couple weeks ago it’s time for an exam so I made the appointment. After that I plan on comin’ right back to da cave as I’m sure my eyes will be dilated. Later on Ima go to the Pubic sto’ to get some shrimpies for dindin tonight. I need to decide on sides as well.
MOOOOOOM a team meetin’ and a luncheon, are two of the reasons this retirement gig is so good. Well, those, tons of paperirk, people who are not happy no matter what, trainin’, conference calls, and a bunch of other stuff. Have I mentioned lately I’m likin’ this retirement gig?

I am at irk of course. One of my clerks is taking the day off and my teenager is coming in after school. I had to text her this morning to please not wear shorts again today. We are very casual but not short shorts one must pull out of their ass each time one stands up. She apologized but I told her no apology necessary. Just don’t wear those short shorts again.
I am having coffee and trying to figure out what I will do today. There is always online training. Mid month is kind of slow for me but all hell breaks loose at the end/beginning of the month.
It’s a three day weekend with Moanday being Washington’s Birthday. Yay.
Cold, damp, and a dusting of snow. But its Thursday and I have plans to run out east this weekend to visit kin. So I can live with the current conditions easily in anticipation of good times to come.

Just out of my team meeting. I’m so glad I’m at the bottom of the food chain and I don’t have to do all the crap the engineers have to do.
Creo is now up and running, and I’m rediscovering all the cool right-click options I’d forgotten. Still an hour till our facility lunch, so I’m going to have my orange to tide me over.
I overslept today and woke in a panic, then I remembered I took off yesterday and today so all is good.
It’s overcast and chilly today, then going up into the 60s again over the weekend. Which is a good thing, maybe we can finish sucking up the leaves.

I have a friend who wants to get a tiny house. I think she is whacked out crazy, but the best comment I saw for a down side of a tiny house is ‘Taco Bell for Dinner’.
I think tiny houses are for the young, skinny, and agile. My friend is none of those.
I know it is mean of me, very mean, but every time I see one of those mama june commercials all I can think is *it’s like putting lipstick on a pig *.
I’m playing a hurry-up-and-wait game right now. Other than that, my back is hurting badly enough that even the good drugs aren’t helping much. Getting old sucks.

Lunch was good and I’s stuffded. Hardly anyone touched the trail mix I brought, so it’s going home with me. All in all, much wasted time today, but tomorrow, I shall be busy. Then a long weekend, so yay!
