Love is in the air - or is that smog? A Valentine's MMP

It’s raining. gasp Back to chivvying the chilluns.

We snagged a bunch of Hershey minis yesterday (more than half off) but they were even more used; leftover fall wrapped ones. No place around here has good deals on VD stuff yet.

Watching the American release version of Witchfinder General; one of my favorite Price films. Not a bad AM all in all.

Turns out that like Tom Hanks in The Money Pit, we have weak trees.

Irish Storyteller came upstairs yesterday and asked me if I wanted to see something crazy in the back yard. Sure, I said and we went outside. He pointed to one of the pine trees and asked me if I noticed anything off about it. Yes, I said, it seems to be tilting quite a bit to the right. So we went into the yard and looked at it.

The base of the trunk is splintered. The top part of the tree is held up by another tree close to the road. So that’s what that loud bang was when it was so windy the other morning!

Anybody wanna pull down an old, dead pine tree?

My boss scared the crap outta me earlier. He sent emails to tell us what to do while the system is down. Mine said something about “when you go to ManFlight.” That’s the big trainer facility on base. ON BASE!!! I interviewed there and decided I didn’t want to work there. NO THANKS!

Turns out, someone else in the office is going there. Not me. Whew! Because I’d give very serious consideration to quitting if they wanted me to go there.

Meanwhile - Lunch Break!!!

And I’ll pass on the pine trees. We had a bunch of ours removed a few years back, and the rest are far enough out in the woods that we don’t care if they die and fall.

We have a lawn, then a fence, then a forested area, then the lake. Fence was there when we bought the house. Which is fine, because we have big dogs, and, at the time we had little kids, and blocking direct access to the lake seemed prudent. There’s a gate that opened to a path to the lake. Used to be there were two huge conifers of some nature that you could see from all over the neighborhood. Then, during some storm or the other, “crack”, and there is only one. It came down in the trees AND blocked the path completely. Oh well. We didn’t want to visit that stupid ol’ lake anyway. At least it didn’t take the fence out.

Hubby argued for moving the cleaning and the assessment out to early next week, so we shall. Cleaning Monday, assessment Tuesday. I am drinking coffee and trying to decide what to do first. Sigh.

No snow or rain, so it’s off to the armpit I go.

I got almost NO sleep last night and I feel like hell. I was up until about 5ish, then the dog woke me at 7:30, then I fell back asleep around 10, the dog woke me at 11:30.

I thought the viewing was 1-3, but it is 3-5. I have about an hour to get ready.

The boss is nowhere around and I can’t access the tutorials because I have the wrong kind of account and I don’t know the customer number to get the proper account… dammit.

emily, there’s no such thing as too much coffee.

sunny, isn’t rain the natural state of weather in Oregon? A friend of mine from Portland and I took his boys to a Sounds game a couple of years ago. When a few sprinkles began to fall, I reached for the rain poncho. One of the boys said “We don’t need no stinkin’ poncho. We’re Oregonians and won’t melt in the rain!” :stuck_out_tongue:

It’s Wednesday and my queue is still full. Tonight I’m going to a cardmaking meetup. I’ve already found out that it wasn’t what I was expecting when I signed up. Most of these things are a bring-your-own-project meet up and you use the time to socialize and [del]steal[/del] swap ideas. The host has this one set up as a make and take and the looks of the project that she posted, it’s beginner level. I’ve taught more advanced classed than that. I’ll go, but likely decline further invitations to this one.

As someone who irked the night shift in a coffee shop, I am going to disagree with several posters here. Too much coffee is definitely a thing.

First extra long shift survived.

A bit annoyed that I’m doing extra long shifts over my bufday, which is tomorrow, so I have to rush my celebratory dindin out with friends in order to be home and in bed by 10. Luckily though, there is an excellent vegetarian restaurant only 5 minutes walk from my house

Red of course it’s always raining here. That’s why the gasp. I was being silly. :stuck_out_tongue: Perhaps I did not have ENOUGH coffee. (I slay me.)

OK. I have delayed long enough faffing about on the internet. Must go and do all the things. House tidying begins [del]at home[/del] now!

**FCD **will be late again today and I need to come up with something for supper that will keep. I won’t really have time to make soup, and he’s not all that crazy about pasta dishes. Maybe I’ll stop by McKay’s deli or their sushi bar.

My new Creo is installed. Just waiting for Windchill to finish installing and coming up to speed - maybe tomorrow afternoon? I’ll play with Creo in the morning.

Corn flakes. Don’t pour the milk until you see the whites of his eyes.

What does it mean, “Creo”?
I used to know a girl named Creo. I think she was from Memphis.

Creo is the CAD modeling software from PTC. I like SolidWorks better, but Creo is pretty cool. We’ve been on version 2.0 since before I was hired last year, but in my job before this one, I used version 3.0, and that’s what we’ve got now. Of course, version 4.0 came out a couple of months ago, and I don’t expect the company will get that till I’m re-retired. No biggie…

I stopped at McKay’s and got sushi and crab spread-n-crackers. That will suffice.

We have ingested an early dindin of salmon patties, English peas, smashed N.O.T., and bizkits. 'Twas good. In a little while I shall betake myself over to the church house for Evening Prayer as is my usual wont on Wednesday eve.

Well, ok then, I’ll just talk to myself. I decided against Evening Prayer over to the church house. That would have required puttin’ on goin out in public clothes and drivin’ both of which just do not appeal to me. So here I am.

OYKW loved his tacky Russell Stover’s heart shaped Valentine candy. He’s been munchin’ upon the candy. I told him whenever I think of him I think of tacky. He says I am such a romantic.

Sloth is one of the Seven Deadly Sins.

:dubious:

Well, I looked at the calandar wrong. Tonight I get to stay home and work on my own project.

Sushi and 'nanner bread have been ingested. I’m in my bathrobe on the recliner, about to commence knittage. Thus endeth my day.

HAPPY HALF PRICED CHAWKLIT HEARTS DAY!
Well, there wasn’t that much good stuff left. We were trying to set the Easter candy.

My member is always ready for charter. :p;)

My card always asks if I was serious about my tips. Apparently I am the only one who takes care of my bartender.

The Sloth Anit-Defimation League is upset with you, and is coming for you. very slowly

** Blurf** irk is seriously cutting into me time. We had a managers meeting today about the hiring freeze and taking stock of who is in need of staff and mulling around cutting back hours of operation if this drags on. Of course, our child care center must be staffed at max so a waiver is being asked for. So far no waivers have been granted, yet. What a big ole mess?

Tarhred. I foresee an early bedtime and tomorrow’s another day.

Hubs did get me a heart shaped Whitman’s sampler and today I went to the Pubic store and got another heart shaped box of Pecan Delights for half price. So all in all not a too bad day.
