Love is in the air - or is that smog? A Valentine's MMP

They grow in a 6" strip of soil between the driveway and the little retaining wall that keeps the lawn out of the driveway, and they begin growing too soon here, too. They have buds. I blame Obama. I mean, Trump.

Mrs. Plant (v.3.0) and I, mostly Mrs. Plant, raked leaves to the street for a Mom sized vacuum cleaner truck to suck up. The leave usually blow back into our yard which is lower than the street, but we lucked out, and the leaves were removed today.

sunny, the eclipse supposedly will be best viewed about an hour northwest of where I live. Two of my friends are getting married (to each other) that weekend and the night sky will be part of their ceremony. They’ve really had to scramble to find lodging for out of town guests though. :stuck_out_tongue:

I put the mater sprouts in a pot (they were getting too tall for the little seed starter greenhouse) and repotted the rosemary this afternoon, then sowed some sweet basil, some nanner and serrano peppers. The next things to get started will be in two weeks.

Or each others sleeves.

MetalMouse Glad you had a successful doctor visit. I get my blood drawn about every 6 months and it really sucks when I get a tech who can’t find a vein, and I have really good veins. The hospital is also bugging me about getting another colonoscopy. I hope they’ve invented a scope smaller than a big bore garden hose by now.

Wifey went to the store and stopped at Honest Chocolates and brought me a treat. Forget what I said about chocolate not sounding good. Honest Chocolates are always good.

She bought some Alaskan cod (they say it’s Alaskan anyway) and we’re gonna have that and cauliflower with cheese sauce for dinner. I find myself interested, but the two pieces of chocolate I inhaled will keep me sated for a couple more hours.

Daffydills always come up too soon. Same with Crocus. Dumb plants.

Sunny, it turns out we are just north of the line for full eclispeness. Hmmph.

I plan on driving down to Greenville-Spartanburg and pulling off on the side of the road somewhere.

I said I have no reason to go out tomorrow. This is untrue. I must venture out in search of cheap chawklit! How could I forget such an important day!

On that note we shall now retire to the boudoir to watch teevee until sleepy time.

Nitey Nite Y’all!

[QUOTE=missred;20000984 Two of my friends are getting married (to each other) that weekend and the night sky will be part of their ceremony. [/QUOTE]

Very cool!

I worked, walked Gordie. Making Italian chicken with cheesy rice and Parmesan bacon spinach.

BigKitty, if you’re going down around Spartanburg, could you fling a Clue-by-four or 6 at my warehouse?

Well, that was interesting.

Got a recorded phone call from my Credit card bank that they wanted to check with me regarding potential fraudulent charges. Unfortunately my kidneys in mid-listen got that “Take me to the bathroom or buy Depends” attitude so I had to hang up.

There was also a e-mail saying the same thing, so I called them and there had been a couple of charges, one in Montgomery, AL (150+ miles from me) and the other for something else today. However, they were for peanuts ($9.23 and $2.31, IIRC) and had been declined. I confirmed that they were bogus (I haven’t left my N. Ali-bama city and haven’t used my card) and they have cancelled my card and I have fed it to the shredder.

So good on Compass Bank fraud department.

Metal mouse, what kind of peanuts? Circus? Chocolate covered? Peanut brittle?

I guarantee that when I stop at the sto tomorrow am for carrots for Miss A., the chocolate won’t be marked down.

Had a good day today. I was drinking too much coffee with a friend this morning, and then our other friend came along and joined us and we told stories. Good times

“Too much coffee”?:dubious:

Been home a bit but puttering at some DCNR paperwork for the June history event. Work today gave us cookies at break in honor of the holiday. I voted for hookers and blow but something about the budget and the usual random drug testing was mentioned.

The only legitimate reasons anyone should be up at this ungodly hour are:

  1. one is stilled wired from a night of dancing and drinking
  2. one has an infant who needs to be fed
  3. one’s toes are curling from passionate love making
  4. one’s house is on fire

None of these apply to me, therefore I should not be awake.

I got a letter from SS today asking me if I am thinking about retirement.
Of course I am thinking about it. I think about it with great sadness as I can’t. But I am thinking about it.

I hate Hart to Hart
Time to surf the channels, and get the dog’s bed out of the washer. If I am going to be awake I may as well be productive.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to work.

**FCD **didn’t get home till almost 7:30, and he was exhausted, poor baby. He actually came to bed when I did instead of watching Rachel Maddow. He asked me to make sure he was up at 5:30, and I felt really sorry to have to wake him, but he’s got to go back to DC again. At least today, his coworker is driving.

I had an email notifying me that my Charter subscription was about to expire, so I’m paid up for 2 more years. I can’t imagine my $15 makes a huge difference in the Chicago Reader’s budget, but I like having the Charter designation under my name, and I enjoy my time here enough that I feel I should contribute. So I’m all virtuous and stuff today.

Arrived at work to a note from the boss changing the winch I did my entire design around. So now I have to see what changes. He claims it’ll be a simpler design. Hope so. We shall see. But I only have till noon today - then the software goes down till Firday - they’re upgrading - YAY! Now we’ll be using CREO 3.0 instead of 2.0. Of course, version 4.0 has been out for months…

We’re promised temps in the 60s this weekend and I intend to do some work in the yard. We shall see how that goes.

Happy Wednesday!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 63 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of <snerk> 69! <snerk> and cloudy for the day with rain this mornin’. We shall see if’n the rain happens. I think it rained some over night. I woke up once to pee and thought I heard rain. I shall venture out in search of cheap chawklit and I do need to buy some staple comestibles as well. Other than that, I foresee maybe a load or two of laundry for the day.

Metal Mouse good for the credit card company. Mine is great about catchin’ fraud stuff and callin’, email, and textin’ me.

Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy demands sustenance. Then I suppose I should purtify if’n I am to go about my public.

Happy Hump Day Y’all!

I’m assuming by “cheap chawklit” you mean good chawklit at reduced prices and not that cheap, nasty crap that shows up in heart-shaped boxes.

Stopped at the sto and got carrots for Miss A. Checked the reduced by 50% candy and it was slim pickings. I left without any.

Wouldn’t reduced be more a form of “used chawklit”?

Howdy Y’all! I am back from a trip to :eek:Wally*World:eek:. I procured Hershey’s Kisses, Truffles, Miniatures, Dove dark chawklits, and just cause, a heart shaped box of Russell Stover’s candies for OYKW. The last because it’s soooooooo tacky. 'Tis cloudy out and there are storms nearby so we may get one yet.
