Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to work.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 43 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 75 and mostly cloudy for today. Rain/tstorms/Apocalypse predicted for tonight and tomorrow. We shall see. Ima go to the sto’ this mornin’ for a few provisions and dindin will be my world famous Eye-talian chikin with whatever sides I decide to make. Maybe I shall become inspired whilst in the sto’.
Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then I suppose purtification should commence. One must look one’s best when one is to be seen in the public.
** HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY!!! **
Happy Tuesday Y’all!
That’s what we’ll be dealing with tomorrow afternoon and all Thursday. There are 2 programs here to manage our engineering drawings - the actual modeling software and the database that ties everything together. Both are being upgraded starting midday tomorrow. I have absolutely no idea what we’ll be doing in the interim. We shall see.
**FCD **and 2 others are going to training in DC today on some engineering analysis software. So he won’t be home till pretty late. I’m seeing leftover pulled poke in my supper future. Other than that, just another exciting day in the life.
Happy VD!!!
The OW is at the doctors and I’m just waiting for her to call so I can take her to breakfast. She had a use-it-or-lose-it vacation day so she’s blowing off work. I, on the other hand, will be reporting in later. And its back to being warm again. My sinuses are not pleased about that last part.
Sitting here trying not to think about food as I have my annual physical at 11am today and we’re not supposed to eat 12 hours before it. Will have a bottle of water in a bit so when they hand me ‘the cup’ I’ll be able to produce.
Expect to hear about my high blood pressure and get scheduled for a colonoscopy, but nothing too serious.
I also scheduled flight and hotel to visit Washington 20-24 April for a short ‘end the winter blahs’ vacation and oh yeah, there’s a march or something during that time…
I need to pack better lunches for myself. My sammich was less than satisfying. Oh well.
Much busyness has ensued - the boss wants me to make drawings of the hoist assembly I designed, so I’m having to ensure the model is in order. He’s also asked me to make a few changes, and he assigned part numbers. I spent a good bit of time ensuring the database is correct. I have one more part to design, then I can do all the drawings.
Busy is definitely better than idle.
Happy Toosday!
I’m up too late. I woke up earlier, too early, then I fell back asleep and slept too late.
The day started frustrating. I had to make a phone call and I got caught in a loop that says to talk to a person press 1, only to be told all persons are busy please hold for the next available person, then to get a message saying the office is closed and the hours are, only to be told to talk to a person press 1, only to be told all persons are busy please hold for the next available person, then to get a message saying the office is closed…
The third time through the loop I opted to leave a message.
It’s supposed to get up to 50 today, but snow is still predicted for tomorrow.
I hope your visit went well MetalMouse
I have two more phone calls to make. One of them I should NOT have to talk to a person. The other one is to call somebody back whom I accidentally hung up on yesterday when I tried to switch from speaker to bluetooth. I hope CS can put me back through to her and I won’t have to start over with somebody new.
Happy Valentine’s Day
Happy Valentine’s Day!
Yay on the gift, TP!
Mooom, when I worked weekends at my present company, once a month, the mainframe, and by extension, all databases connected to it was taken down for a few hours for updates. We played poker.
metal mouse, if that’s the extent of health issues, it’s not too bad for a [del]geezer[/del] person of retirement age.
I brought Hershey’s kisses in for my cow-orkers today. Someone else brought a box of chawklit and the company gave each of us a small heart shaped box of chawklit and a box of popcorn. I had one ex who used to do something romantic for Valentine’s, but no one else ever has.
Boyfriend let me know he bought me a Valentine’s gift on the weekend when we were grocery shopping. I would have just let this holiday slide, as I do most holidays, but he got me something, so yesterday I bought him an orchid. He likes when I bring him flowers, which are usually just meadow weeds or something from my garden, but this is not the time of year for that, so fancy hothouse blossoms it is. Then we’ll likely go out for burgers and beer.
Yay for marching MetalMouse!
Speaking of planning trips…
The solar eclipse is coming up. It will go right over my house. It looks like it will go right over some other MMP house too. Anyone planning to eclipse watch? I volunteer to host the West Coast MMP gathering!
House appraisal is on Friday. Hed hurtz. I must clean house. Human nature dictates a clean house makes a better impression, right? So it must be done, but this week is going to suck.
Happy Valentines Day all y’all!
Thanks for all the ‘get better’s’ y’all! They’re working.
I was feeling pretty smug when I rolled out of bed (at 10:30) this morning. Then I took the dogs out, which pretty much used up all my energy for about a half hour.
But I ate breakfast, oatmeal, and it’s staying down.
We think we had/have norovirus, which usually last 1-3 days. Naturally I got the 3 day option.
I’m hoping to manage to run some errands today. We’re out of laundry soap and a lot of other stuffs.
Happy Valentines Day everybody. You do know that Valentine was beaten, stoned, and decapitated by the Romans, don’t you? That’s why he got to be a saint.
Thanks for the medical well-wishes; My BP is too high (148/95) and I’ve got a prescription for that; my ears are a bit clogged and I’ve got another prescription for that; I weight too much, no prescription, I know what I have to do, just have to do it; and they are going to schedule me for a colonoscopy…oh joy.
Only hard part was the drawing of the blood; the younger med-tech took two stabs at it (literally) without hitting paydirt, so she got the older lady who drew blood on the first try.
Celebrated by eating at IHOP and now will browse the web for a couple of hours.
Sunny, it’ll probably be more like shuffling than marching for me, but yeah, I’ll be there. I explained my reasons on Facebook (FCM or I can give you the location if you’re interested) but in few words, Science Is Important.
Nora was an Italian girl, it lasted about a week.
Howdy Y’all! I’m here to say it ain’t love or smog in the air, it’s pollen. The pine tree orgy is startin’ to get in full swing. We’re supposed to get rain/tstorms/apocalypse durin’ the night and through the day tomorrow. While I do not want anymore bad storms, a lot of rain would be nice. ICK! Sinus wise pine pollen does not bother me, it just gets all over everything!
MetalMouse glad the doc visit went OK.
I have decided green beans and scalloped N.O.T. (from scratch even!) shall be the sides for dindin along with my world famous Eye-talian chikin and rolls. Should be pretty tasty.
I found house cleaners! HUZZAH!!! They shall be here Thursday. Tomorrow I shall therefore be making it so that they can clean, which shall be somewhat of a challenge. Nonetheless - HUZZAH! Other folks are cleaning! Today I have taken my kit of things that sometimes helps with stoopid hed that hurtz, and am waiting to see if it helps. I am curled up in bed with my helper puppy. She is good at cuddling and good wishes. Iff’n the kit helps, then I shall start the tidying today.
Yah boo sucks to Valentine’s day. I celebrated by badly pouring heart patterns on people’s lattes.
Had a nice time in Spain though; it may not have seemed warm to locals, but it certainly did to me! Barcelona’s a great place to just meander round with no plan, which is my typical state of being.
Just skimmed the last MMP- got back from Navaville last night (the flight ran late, so technically it was actually this morning), and back to irk today. Thus starts a looooong couple of weeks- the boss went on holiday today, and gets back on Sunday, then the chef goes off on Thursday for a week, and I have to do every day while they’re away- including both opening and closing the cafe while the boss is away, which means lots of extra hours as well as extra shifts. By the end of it, I expect to need another holiday, which will probably start the cycle again.
Still, I did call in at the old job on the way- it being in the airport and all- and I’m so very glad I left; the assistant manager I got on with best was in by himself, and told me he was handing in his notice the next day because it had just got worse and worse, complete with even crazier shift patterns, while being horribly understaffed all the time. Oh, and the guy I got really weird vibes from and avoided got fired for trying to scam £300 out of another staff member.
Hope you all behaved while I was away!
When I stopped at the end of my driveway to get the mail, I noticed 2 daffodil buds standing about 5" above the dead leaves. Daffodils!! In February!?!?!?!
**FCD **should be leaving DC about now. He’s got to drop off his coworker in Waldork en route - I’ll be surprised if he’s home by 7. Lather, rinse, repeat tomorrow. At least it’s just a 2 day class.
Knittage shall ensue in the interim. After I eat leftover pulled poke.
::Pokes head in::
::Looks around::
:eek: ::shudder::
Oh wait, it’s just the usual Mumper crowd. :o
Check your PMs
How do you email chocolates; doesn’t the motherboard on the receiver’s side melt 'em, or are you sending M&Ms?
You could always tell 'em to take that colonoscopy & shove it up your…oh wait, nevermind
Dindin has been ingested. There was enough left for us both to have N.O.L. tomorrow, so WIN-WIN! TWPTB still insist on storms movin’ in over night and for tomorrow. If’n that is so, comfort food will be good. Thus, I shall make salmon patties, peas, smashed N.O.T., and bizkits for dindin tomorrow. This is classic southern USofA comfort food and one of our favs. I don’t need to go anywhere tomorrow so let it storm I say!
Nuts welcome back! Glad you had a good time in Navaland. Of course we behaved. MOOOOOOM was here so we had to use coasters, say excuse me, and not wipe our noses on our sleeves.
Still waiting for my sweetie to get home… He’s going to be exhausted…
