Love is in the air - or is that smog? A Valentine's MMP

Trying to decide if I should be worried.

I work in a call center with various projects (each is a contract with another company. As far as my callers are concerned, I’m an employee of the client whose calls I answer, but my paycheck comes from the call center itself).

My project group got moved from one area of the call floor to another today. Always a pain in the tail, since my project seems to contain the only people in the call center who ever clean their desks.

That’s not the worrying part. What is is what I heard my sup tell another agent about WHY we migrated. According to her, another project’s client pulled their contract with the call center. This particular project employs at least 1/4 of the people working at that call center.

I can’t decide whether this might be the start of a chain of disaster dominos or not.

TGIF!! I think I have enough to keep me busy today and we’ve got a 3-day weekend ahead. Huzzah!

So glad the computer upgrade is done. I’m enjoying the rediscovery of version 3.0 and its shortcuts. Life is good.

Happy Firday!

Attended a beer-food pairing last night featuring a local brewery that brews mostly sour/funky beers. The Cornish game hen and rainbow trout courses were outatanding, as were the raspberry mousse and the dark chocolate tart.

But the absolute winner was something I’ve never tasted or even heard of. Danish crumbled blue cheese ice cream, served with diced peaches and lemon toasted pine nuts, with a balsamic reduction drizzled over everything.

Wow.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 35 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 71 and N.O.S. for the day. TWPTB say rain for tomorrow. We shall see. I may go to the liberry this mornin’. Other than that not a lot on the agenda for today. Burgers and fries for dindin tonight which should be good.

Nettie I can understand your cause for worry. However, sounds like the call center likes your group so maybe things are good with you all.

Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy demands sustenance. Then, if’n I am goin’ to the liberry, I suppose I should purtify so as to be presentable to the public. Such a bother!

Happy Firday Y’all!

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. I’m off today.:stuck_out_tongue: And there is hockey tonight.

oooo. Sounds tasty.

Hope everything goes smoothly for you at work ,Nettie.

I’m pretty sure I’m neurotic anyway, but I find myself wondering if this one client is just the first to bail.

Dang kayaker, that sounds awesome. I’m currently in Shanghai and people are threatening to buy me durian ice cream, which I’m pretty sure is at the opposite end of the food spectrum.

They smell foul, but taste good.

Afternoon, mumpers!

I am at irk, and irked. But I only have to last out another hour and 40mins before it’s hometime and then gym time. My beloved is making me wait until tonight for the new episode of The Walking Dead, he forgot to tell me he’d downloaded it on Monday and I’ve been too busy for the last three nights to watch it, thus we decided to be all coupley and watch it together when he gets home later.

Nettie, it would be perfectly normal to be concerned about your work situation but if your other clients are happy then you may be worrying for nothing.

Torch, durian ice cream is probably ok if you hold your breath! I went to a restaurant when we were on holiday in Canada and had to order the maple bacon ice cream, just because. It was bacon, of course I had to.

Hey, I’ve had fresh durian, cooked durian, and even durian pizza. Even when holding my nose I still can’t get used to the taste. Stuff is just nasty (to me).

Nettie can you ask your sup what’s up? Either ask about the conversation you heard or ask her why you moved and see what information you get? You might even be able to work in a follow up question about “should I be worried about my job”. You might learn some more. It sucks that your company lost a big client, but it might not mean anything. Clients come and go. Hopefully this is just a bump in the road.

Off to chivvy kidlets.

Now I have this mental image of the standard squirrel mount rendered by Pablo Picasso ----- or in Plants case, more like Pablo Fiasco.

Probably not in Butler County, huh?

Nope, New Ken (House of 1000 Beers).

North Country Brewing in Butler County has had some similar events. Also Reclamation Brewing right in Butler…

You should come out to House of 1000 sometime. Happy Hour is 5:30 to 7:00 weeknights; drafts are 1/2 price!!

Blurf TGIF!!!11!!!

Tis been a long week especially since I did irk some last Sat. I have a three day weekend though and maybe I can finish tidying my house. And catch up on some sleep. I am leaving irk early today to get my hairs cut and colored. I don’t want to but I must.

Happy Firday everyone.

Alex Catt is living dangerously. She’s licking Gordie’s tail(which drives him absolutely batshit insane.)

Busy and productive day. I whipped out 5 drawings on a new project and figured out how to do something I’d never done before. Plus my office mate showed me a really cool tool that will come in VERY handy. It’s been a good morning.

Just over 3 hours left. I am so ready for the weekend!!

I’ll have to see what the weather holds next Tuesday. Usually my work schedule is M-F 3-9 so most happy hours are less than totally happy for me.

Had a good night. Slept 6 hr & 47 min straight without getting woke up by coughing or dogs. Even ate brekkie. (fried rice).

Today I should go upstairs and clean up my desk and bring Quickbooks up to date. I should. Especially as I was up there yesterday and there were little black ants all over my desk. I can’t imagine what they were doing there. I never eat in that room. They probably got flooded out of their home, but why crawl all the way up to our second floor? In any case, I want them gone.

I hate Quickbooks.
I worked on a network for metal building salesmen. The mother of the owners worked in a subsidiary that build metal homes, and used Quickbooks. Each function can be configured for a different printer. She had a bunch of used printers from the parent company, and I had to quit what I was working on and drive over to her office and configure her damn printers when ever she wrote a check.
