Love is in the air - or is that smog? A Valentine's MMP

Happy Firday!

Nothing much going on here. I was up half the night again, and so slept half the day again.
I just finished the last of the chili, but I’m still hungry. Probably because I haven’t eaten all day.

It’s supposed to be in the 60s all weekend, and nice all next week too. That’s something to look forward to.

I’m sorry you’re worried about your job Nettie.

Doggio, ADam Cat flirts with death almost everyday. The other day he started to use my leg as a scratching post. Yesterday while I was holding him on his back and rubbing his belly, he stuck his claws inside my nose. I don’t know why he thought that was a good idea, unless he wanted to be dumped on the floor.

My cats like to walk just in front of Kona’s nose as he lays on the floor. He just whimpers. He wants to play with them but they are scary! He’s a goof.

Glad you’re feeling better Bumba! I hate those ants. I find them upstairs in my bathroom sometimes. Getting water apparently. Why? The world is full of water right now. Why do they have to climb two stories to my sink?

I have been a slacker today. I went to bed at 9pm last night. Went back to bed after I got the kids off to school, and slept until 10 am. I’ve accomplished very little. I guess I’m ok with that. Shortly I shall purtify myself and pick up 'Beamette from school.

I did get a call from 'Beamer’s school this morning. He got jumped in the locker room this morning. He tried to leave but the group followed him and started hitting him. So he went after the group leader. He’s on an in-school suspension. Here’s the thing I honestly don’t understand about schools these days. The other boys started it. The other boys wouldn’t let my son leave. The other boys were physically attacking him. My son gets suspended if he defends himself. What is up with that? I think that’s wrong.

That’s the world from the Left Coast today. Happy Firday.

Howdy Y’all! Burgers and fries have been ingested. They were nummy. OYKW is preparin’ himself a bath in the whirlpool tub and I am in chill mode. All is good.

Sunny IMO Beamer should not be in trouble for defendin’ himself. He did the right thing to walk away but when they wouldn’t stop, I say he did what he had to do.

Yep, after much pondering, I think our talk shall consist of an exploration of what else he could have done (yell for help is all I think), and no punishment. He had a bad day. We think he should be allowed to defend himself if a group of boys is pummeling him. I expect boys shall be boys, to a certain extent, but I’m still feeling a bit “grrrr” about the whole thing.

Cracker Barrel made supper. **FCD **wanted their catfish, and I wasn’t too hungry, so I had a veggie plate. I’s still stuffded.

When we came home, we changed the bedding and hauled the laundry downstairs. I’ll be up first, so I can start the wash early. It’s going to be nice and I’d like to hang the sheets outside. Maybe the jeans too. We shall see.

Now, I’m going to look for another scrap yarn afghan pattern and commence to afghanin’! Chillage shall ensue.

Sorry about your job worries, nettie

TGIF!

I has parsley and sage sprouts now. The rosemary is thriving in its bigger pot and it will be time to start the thyme in a couple of weeks.

In other news, I knocked off about 1:30 today. The grocery shopping is done and I’m on the second beer to wash down the Thai food from the noodle house. Their #2 on the spice scale correlates with two beers. Most places I go 3 or 4, but I couldn’t handle that there.

Wild men that we are, we shall shortly retire to the boudoir to watch teevee until sleepy time. How do we keep up such a pace!

Friday night, watching Mildred Pierce and eating popcorn with real butter. I’m happy.

Slow day, nappage in the afternoon followed by dinner at the family-owned place down the road a bit…they know me so well that they can tell me my order before I place it (two grilled ham-n-cheese with fries, sweet team with lemon and a glass of ice water).

Get to coach the early indoor soccer game tomorrow (9am) so working on my lineup tonight and probably will hit the sack early. And then refereeing four indoor games starting at 11:30, so that pretty well shoots the afternoon. But at least I’ll get a bit of exercise.

Sunny, just teach 'Beamer a new word…TANJ (it’s from the SF author Larry Niven and it means There Ain’t No Justice. Life is like that, albeit I think he did the right thing and the bully boys should get double time, if there was any justices…TANJ.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to work.

It’s Saturday, so naturally I’m up early. Dammit. But Higgs has been tended to, my first load of laundry is in the washer, and I’m enjoying a breakfast of diet coke and 'nanner bread.

It’s below freezing at the moment, but we’re promised upper 60s this afternoon and bigly sun. I’ll do some work in the yard, and with luck, I can open some windows for a few hours to air out the house. Since we’ve got 3 days this weekend, I think the code phrase will be “wing it!”

Happy Saturday!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 50 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 67 and rain this mornin’/afternoon. It looks like it should start to rain at anytime. We shall see. No big plans for the day. We may go to the little bar just up the road for N.O.L. Or not. I bought a buncha deli stuff for sammiches along with some good bread so that takes care of any food needs today and tomorrow.

Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy demands sustenance. Then, well, who knows!

Happy Sattidy Y’all!

Sheets and jeans are on the lines. The sun is up and the temp has crawled above freezing. The shirts that are in the washer now will be hung out, but the unders in the next load will go in the dryer, partly for lack of line space, partly because it takes for-freekin-ever to hang out the many, many pieces that comprise my white load. Socks alone are a pain - at least 28 of them things for *each *of us (I do whites every other week.) I don’t know if I own enough clothespins!

**FCD **is still sleeping, which is good. So are all of the critters. I’m the only productive member of the household. Go me!

Awake too early for a Sat. The dog has been walked and I have some bacon cooking in the oven. There will be eggs and toast too. I have some laundry to do and need to unload and reload the dishwasher once breakfast is done.

I think I will be lazy today and maybe watch a movie or two. And a nap is in order.

Sometimes I impress myself. After I threw the load of whites in the washer, I hung the shirts out on the line, then came in and set a timer for when I thought the whites needed to go into the dryer. The washer has an end-of-cycle beep, but I can’t hear it upstairs, hence the timer.

Usually, the load finishes before my timer beeps, so I’m not surprised when I go down to silence. Well, today, as I was approaching the laundry room, I heard the beep. My timer upstairs was right on the money! Go me!!!

I’ll take the little victories when I can find them.

As soon as I got in to irk this morning I had a sneezing fit. And then another. And another. And now my throat is starting to hurt. It’s official–I has a sick. :frowning: And I can’t go home until 1 (hopefully) when Miss Q comes in. :(:frowning:

‘Tis drizzly and dreary out. A good day to be in da cave all warm and dry. Brekkie has been ingested and both of us are purtified. Whether or not we get up the energy to don goin’ out in the public clothin’ remains to be seen.

Moooom, if my washer indeed has a beep, I can’t even hear it in the next room with the laundry room door closed. When I had to go downstairs to the laundry room, I kenw that the washer took 25 minutes and the dryer 45 and planned accordingly.

{{{big kitty}}}

I’m fixing to wash the breakfast dishes then shower for a lunch meet up. There’s a pot of black beans in the slow cooker and when I get home, I’ll wash and chop the collards to go into a pot on the stove and fix a batch of cornbread or a cooker of rice, not sure yet.

Happy Saturday!

Coached soccer this A-em (we won 10-2, yeah us), and have ingested the necessary sustinance to keep me going, so heading out in about 30 minutes to referee 4 games. Rainy and dreary this morning at 45F, so pretty much a good day to stay indoors.

**Big Kitty, ** hope y’all get to feeling better. I got ear drops to remove wax build-up and so far they have led to about a 60% decrease in my hearing…wasn’t it supposed to work the other way, Doc?

FCM, I have a relatively (less than 5 months) new washer and I’m still trying to get the timing right for adding the fabric softener. Usually a little early, but have missed it completley on a couple occasions.

It’s a great day for drying outside - the sheets are pretty much dry, and I expect by this afternoon, the jeans will be, too. Unders are all folded and mine are stowed - **FCD **can do his own.

We cut a bunch of wisteria and Virginia creeper off the side fence where a portion of fence will be removed. **FCD **is buying a small garage to make a paint booth. It will protrude from the yard a wee bit and connect with the asphalt we had put down for the truck parking pad.

No more stinky chemical smells in the house - yay! We worked a bit over an hour, then quit till tomorrow. My back was aching - I’m sure his was, too. Lots of bending and reaching to get as much of the vine-y stuff as we could. And raking. What a mess!

So, what to do for lunch???

Oh, and it’s loverly outside! My sweatpants were too warm. No, I didn’t strip them off. :stuck_out_tongue:
