Low flying in the MMP

Doing a double tomorrow so tonight its early to bed. Other than that not much happening here.

I was the only IT guy at work today, repairing things the other three screwed up.

I’m going to the beach next weekend - sort of.

I volunteered to work the MS150 bike ride from Philly to Ocean City, New Jersey. So I’m going to be in New Jersey next weekend. On the one hand, the weather is going to be nice and the motel where I’ll be staying is near the ocean. On the other hand, it’s New Jersey. To be very specific, it’s this spot. I’m going to raid Amazon looking for books for my tablet.

Veggies for supper is my usual reason for agreeing to go to Cracker Barrel. I usually get a plate with 2 orders of greens, some okra, something random, and cornbread. Sadly, no one else in my house likes greens, and I love them. (The Late, Great K9 Mojo never ever begged for people food… unless I had a bowl of mustard greens. He was adorable, and even my husband couldn’t get mad at me for sharing.)

The creeping crud struck Miss Lily today, so she stayed home and drank tea and had Tylenol and watched cartoons in between naps. My dad “cooked” at the deli - rotisserie chicken and cole slaw and NOT salad and rolls and cherry pie. Enough leftovers for tomorrow night, since Girl 2.0 will be out at thhe football game.

And that’s officially a double date. So far, the dates have included meeting for ice cream, a coffee date, playing tennis, a movie, and now a high school football game. It’s all so All-American! (But the parental dating rules still include that The Girl must rely on a parent for transportation. That was the compromise until next school year. Fortunately, the state’s graduated license system means the restriction isn’t too weird - newly-licensed drivers can’t have any unrelated passengers for the first 6 months, and only one non-family passenger for the next 6 months. So Cute Boy can’t legally drive her anywhere, anyway.)

Did 3 loads of laundry today - including folding and putting away. Finished taking down about 80 feet of fence that was in my way. Gotta fill in the post holes and cut grass tomorrow. Sleepy time!

Rosie’'s sig all around.

So you’re saying she knew you?

Are you spending time with Dogbutt and Spiderdummy? :dubious:

That looks like the first or second rest stop. Good news: you’ll be done early on Sat. Bad news: Sunday will be looonngg & you’re not close to the beach; closer than Harrisburg but you’re 40+ miles to the finish & 35ish to the ocean.
I can’t do it this year but after the debacle & how they handled it last year, I don’t think I’ll do this event again. I know this is a well-known charity but I find them to be especially obnoxiously money grubbing.
From post-op instrux:
FOOD: Soft food and liquids, cold to luke-warm, are advised for at least the first four to five days.

There you have it folks, my dentist has advised me some medicinal ice cream!

We’ve [del]axed each other [/del]broken bread before.

How unfortunate for her.

Very good day. Did great on call monitors and on payments, plus it’s payday.

The miniature emperor is catering tonight. Since DH had today free, he got to go fetch while I’m in wind-down.

We went to the Japanese place for din-din. It was yum. I did spill an entire dish of soy sauce though. On me, on the table, on my purse, on the floor. I am talented. I think the purse may be dead now. It’s pink leather, now featuring dark brown soy sauce stains down the side. :frowning:

blurf. But, TGIF. Awake too early. Going to try to go back to sleep for a bit.

For the record, WalMart’s store brand cheese sticks are nasty - the flavor is so-so but the texture is awful. And if you roll one in a tortilla and heat it up to make it melty, it literally gets drippy. I think I’ll just put the whole package in the work fridge for whoever wants them. ick.

Can’t believe the boss’ wife is in work already! I’ve never seen her in here before 7:30 at the earliest - they must be planning an early exit. I could use an early exit, but I don’t have the leave time to spare, alas. So I’ll trudge thru the day and start my weekend at 3:30.

And for those wondering, FCD’s meeting with the company prez went well. They don’t want to lose him and he doesn’t want to do crappy little jobs. So he’ll be brought in for any engineering-intensive projects plus he’ll mentor the new baby engineers who are educated but don’t know anything. That’s not being mean - n00bs generally haven’t spent time on a factory floor or in any manufacturing environment, so while they may be great with theory, they lack knowledge of common practice which my sweetie has, having worked on a production floor himself, among other things. Essentially, he’ll have a part-time job.

And so goes the week. Happy Firday!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 70 Amurrkin out and partly cloudy with a predicted high of 92 and partly cloudy for the day. Given TWPTB has not been a great source for weather as of late, that could mean anything from a warm day, to rain, to a sudden blizzard and fifteen inches of snow. Now they are sayin’ rain startin’ Sunday and into next week. I do not believe it however. :dubious: Today’s plans include not a whole lot which is ok by me. Dindin shall be burgers and fries and I’ve already made up the burgers. Maybe some cee-mint pond time is in store.

MOOOOOOM glad FCD’s meetin’ went well. Sounds like an outcome he’s happy with so, YAY!

OK I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, well, we shall see.

Happy Firday Y’all!

Blurf. Up at 0530.

Kid’s Soccer practice went well, I am scouring the internet for drills/exercises to do that the kids will find interesting and also improve their skills. Introduced several new ones Thorsday and they seem to go well. Plus the rain predicted for Saturday has apparently moved to Sunday means we can have our game AND I can get out of mowing my yard…truly a win-win situation.

Also accepted the offer from the lowest-bid roofer, after doing more reseach on-line about him, he’s been in the business almost 20 years and has mostly good to great ratings and has made an effort to solve the only two BBB complaints, so he’s due to call me today and set up the date. They can do it all in one day, which sort of amazes me, I figured it was a 2-3 day job.

And to all a good Firday.

Firday flavoured blurf (I’m feeling rahther British this morning)

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Closing shift tonight.

**MetalMouse **- I was rather surprised that our roof was done in a day - and a relatively short day at that! There were 2 layers of old shingles that had to be stripped off, plus we had a solar tube installed over the hall bathroom, so it was more than just a roof. But they done good! Apart from finding a few random nails and a few broken bits of shingle, they left our yard exactly as they’d found it! I don’t recall how big the crew was, but they worked!!

Guess the boss isn’t coming in today. I finished one mess and I’m about to start on another. TGIF!!!

Up & breakfasted. Kitchen desperately needs cleaned, so tackle it I shall. ( I don’t know how it gets so messed up so quick * mumble* )
Pot Roast for Sabbath din din with crusty bread & rice puddin’ for dessert. I never made one before… I’ll let you know how it turns out…

Buttercup, thanks for your kind comments HUGS
If I missed anyone, I’m terribly sorry, I skimmed!
Happy Friday/Prep day to all!

I highly recommend the movie The Karate Kid. Wax on/wax off. May not be great for soccer but your car will be nice & clean!
Going to comedy show tonight b/c I won free tix from the radio station on the drive into irk. WooHoo!
