But you aren’t from Goshen.
Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. It’s my Firday today. And a weekend of hockey.
Nor did I. And his Mrs. is a very sweet lady, too!
I like it when I can sleep without Mel, and last night was one of those nights. Yay! But I dreamed that I was back in the house where my Mom grew up, and I was looking around at what the new owners had done, trying to remember how it used to look. At one point, **Sampiro **was there reading lines from a play with a woman I didn’t know. Then the floor was covered in roaches and mice and one black squirrel, and I woke up. Dream interpreters: Go!
Today will finally be mowage of the ditch and probably some weed whacking. And some studio time - I need to run a kiln load. Rain is promised for tomorrow - I sure hope so. We’re in a rain deficit and my yard looks awful. I wonder what will survive till next year.
And thus begins another day in paradise. Happy Saturday!
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN 'Tis 72 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 92 and mostly sunny for the day. I foresee cee-mint pond time. The biggest plan for the day is to go to our friend’s house for dindin. Other than that I see no reson to leave da cave.
MOOOOOOM maybe that dream means you should sleep with Mel.
OK, I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy demands sustenance. Then, well, we shall see. 'Tis a willy-nilly day.
Happy Sattidy Y’all!

Mostly done with mowage. **FCD **has taken the riding mower to the Amish guy who services it for us. We should get it back in a week or so. I’ve done the big hill on the side and the ditches, minus the part that needs whacking. After I cool down and rehydrate, I’ll finish the worst part of the corner hill, then whack what needs whacking. Whew, I’m a hot, sweaty mess!
Anyone interested in a mumper movie night? There’s an app called Rabbit where we can all group chat or all watch a movie together or have a video conference or other fun stuff
Why do I find it strange that an Amish guy would work on ridin’ mowers? Does he convert them into horse 'n buggy mowers? In other news, it’s all clouded over out so we may forego cee-mint pond time.
**swampy **- there are a number of Amish small-engine repair places. Struck me as weird, but we’ve been taking ours to Dave for years, and he does good work for decent prices. But we won’t get a phone call when it’s ready - we’ll get a post card. Convenient for him - the Loveville Post Office is right at the end of his driveway!
Mowage is done. Whackage shall ensue. Later. I need to cool down again. The muggies have returned, so while it’s not extremely hot, it’s sweaty.
N.O.L. has been et. ‘Tis really cloudy out and looks like maybe rain. Maybe nappage should occur. I do need to rest up before goin’ to eat lasagna.
I wonder if an Amish small engine repair shop would employ a non Amish person to test out the small engines once they are repaired. How else would that get done? This is a very odd thing.
And whackage is done! YAY!!!
The Amish will occasionally use engines to do work. I don’t know where they draw the lines, but I’ve seen horse-drawn, engine powered farm equipment. One stand where I shop has a cash register that runs on solar. So they’re not entirely anti-technology, but there are rules of some sort.
Raining here this morning! Yay!
We’re going to go to brunch somewhere. It shall be an adventure. We’re waiting for the boy-child to don his attire. He’s been up for hours, but resists clothing until he is forced.
It’s been a busy, productive day today. After an “oh, shit!” moment, I finally went and did my errands. I now have most of the stuff I need to make a power cable (the rest is coming Monday from Amazon), the battery to hook my radio up to, and a haircut. Where my hair was once down below my shoulders, it now meets military standards of over the ears and off the collar. It looks great, if I do say so myself.
Happy Saturday!
It’s cool and cloudy outside.
I’m grumpy.
All ready to go and feast upon lasagna. OYKW is purtifyin’ as I post. We’re due at five for adult beverages and munchies. Dindin is at six. I’s hongree!
Higgs has been bathed. Mattress pads are being washed - after they dry, we’ll make our bed. Higgs has also been fed. Chillage shall ensue.
Sore.
Refereed an 0830 game, then went to another park for my U12 teams’ game (we lost 2-4; there goes the unbeaten season). Once that was done I went back to the original fiedl and did another game. Finally got home about 3:30 pm.
At least it was cloudy and had the threat of rain (very little fell, however), so the temperature wasn’t scorching like the last two weeks.
I think I’ll stay right where I am for awhile…
Oh, and on the sammich controversy of yesterday, I always get buns, because that’s how I roll…
I worked. I threw a gang of hoodlums out of the store ,since they were Silly Stringing the stationary aisle. Why did they do it? Because the package was “open”. Note to hoodlums: “Free” and “open” are not synonyms. But there is beer, hockey, and Bacon Parmesan crusted fish.
When there’s hockey on?:dubious:
Rockin’, it looks good. And the airman in Airman Doors must be proud your hair is within regs.
swampy, probably like this:
FCD: Can you fix my mower?
Amish Mechanic: I shun thy infernal contraption. Buy one of my goats, and begone.
Howdy Y’all! We’re back from the great lasagna pig out. I et three helpings (oink! oink!) and did OYKW and others. We got some to bring to da cave even. Thus we have N.O.L. for tomorrow.
doggio that made me laugh way far more than it probably should have.
I think I need the recipe for this fish.
