Just wanted to say that quite a few of you have some pretty cool handles-shame to keep them hidden.
I lurk mostly on a daily basis. Sometimes I chime in on a thread which seems to instantly kill it. Go figure…
Sometimes I started a thread which really went nowhere. No big deal.
The best example of my efforts was the “Inventor of the Six Pack Plastic Thingy”, which I typed up while silly on beer one night sometime in 2006.
Incredulously, four years later, fisherjoe2003 and Musicat came back with a definitive answer. I had forgotten I even asked the question.

I’ve been mostly-lurking for about a decade now. Sometimes I sort of want to make a comment, but usually either someone’s already said it better, or… nobody’s said it and I don’t like to be the first, heh. I just like reading, mostly, and there’s always something new to read here.
I do occasionally vote in polls though.
One cool thing about that, unless you choose to post in the thread, too, is that just voting in polls doesn’t affect your post count!
You could vote in every poll and still be an official card-carrying Lurker.
Lurker since 2005. Figured I should finally bite the bullet and post something. If only to leave some evidence of my countless hours on this website.
Sort of like carving my name into a really awesome tree. And then going back to my chair to sit and stare at the tree some more. And laugh. And cry.
I’m so used to lurking that it never occurred to me to vote in a poll. I don’t know if I could handle the interaction.
I have such a thing for lurkers. That steely silent demeanor. So cool and mysterious. I always wonder how they can resist just yap yap yapping all the damn time. When someone delurks to say anything at all, I’m always riveted.

This is really cool to see all these folks I didn’t know were here. And by the way, your posts pretty much all seem perfectly fine to me.
This thread also got me to check my statistics. 1392 posts since 2007, and 1.04 posts a day. So I’m not a very prolific poster, but not a lurker either (and I don’t think of myself as a lurker). Sometimes I wonder how “visible” I am here – if I post enough so that people recognize me.
Maybe it’s only that we have crossed paths a bit recently on some fun threads, but I recognize you. I’ve related to what you’ve had to say, too.
