Besides you screwed up the second of a set of behavioral observation experiments I have been running in order to determine the mean personalities found on the Internet verses the illusion behind the subconscious selection of ‘screen’ persona’s or, rather, names.
Example: What form of person spends the most time on the Internet? What form of person identifies most with their screen name? Average body built and sex of the person. Estimated average intelligence of the person. Cliques in message boards. Cliques in chat rooms. Generated response from such people in the areas of: race, sex, addiction, marriage, dating, global events, international interaction, ‘humor,’ and so on. How are ‘web people’ different from non-web people.
Locate the most aggressive ‘regulars’, board leaders, board followers, potential psychiatric problems, potential social problems, potential social isolation, possible agoraphobiacs. Observe the ‘pecking order.’
In brief: observe and determine the psychology of a test group in a popular board and compare with general web observations to determine the psychology of most ‘confirmed’ web users.
MarkSerlin, Rainbowcsr, AnitaJ, and the others were screen names used not only by myself, but my compatriots in these observations. We had to kind of keep up on what each one said.
It has been most interesting, but not all that conclusive, though it appears so far that the heaviest message board users have somewhat insular personalities, some apparently have only a small click of friends they hang around with and some are unusually aggressive, up to and including ignoring anything that might be factual but does not fit into their opinions.
My other compatriots dropped out, finding the constant harassment annoying. I’ve decided to close things down for similar reasons, but mainly because I have no doubt that any further posts of a radical nature on my behalf will result in the thread being closed down.
I was very disappointed that this last one had to end so soon! I was trying a whole new tact! I was most interested in observing the responses to minor stimulation and more or less passive activity on my part. It would have been interesting to see just how long the respondents would have gone on setting each other off before it would have become necessary for me to insert a carefully passive remark or respond in kind to an attack upon my person.
The SDMB, by the way, has a very noticeable clique with leaders and followers. It is also about the most active and easy to work board I have come across, with most others tending to be those damn lines of listings that one need to click on just to read a single post.
The MOST hostile board is no long up and I’m glad. It was for a discussion of race relations and I actually did discover that Blacks are just as racist and hostile as Whites and just as quick to grasp at the most improbable reasons for being so. HOWEVER in a Black discussion board run mainly by teenaged Black children, I found a heartening, most unexpected turn of events with very little hostility mentioned concerning Whites.
Someday I might tell you of the message board for male and female workers in the sex industry and the fascinating conversations they have. (Word to the wise – don’t try to ‘save’ a professional hooker and make her straight. Most don’t want to be ‘saved’.)
Uh, NightGirl44 was an independent personality, not adjusted by myself and LadyLust was mainly handled by an actual woman.
So, the war is over, folks. I will, however, be watching to see who is next to be attacked, because someone always will be.

By the way, I am a smoker and I am concerned about the no smoking fanatics because the movement has surpassed most others and I’ve caught TRUTH lying twice so far. (Latest lie? They claim a person dies every 8 seconds from smoking related illnesses. That would be three million plus a year. Combine that with the couple of other million who die yearly and, since we have a population of 245 million, there would be such a sizable dent in the population that we would be importing people to work.) I’m interested on how long such lies can be told and civil rights violated while the lawmakers sit back and watch.
