Lynn Bodoni has passed away

I am horribly shocked and saddened. We didn’t interact much, except in the mini-rants thread, but as others have said, when I think of the SDMB, she is one of the members I think of. It is a tragic loss all the way around. My condolences to her family, and I will hug my rescue cat and think of Lynn.

I’m so sorry to hear this. Whenever I thought of the SDMB, I thought of her. Devastating.

Same here. I’ve been around for over a decade. I am taking this very personally.

Go in peace, Lynn.

RIP

Lynn pops to mind any time someone mentions Aranjuez AF Base, where her husband used to be stationed. Add me to the list of people who will miss her :frowning:

So sad to read this. May she RIP.

Condolences to her family and to all of us.

Purring, nuzzling kittens, and no litter boxes.

Oh no :frowning:

I am so sorry to hear this! Lynn was an asset to the board, and I’m sure in real life as well.

Already reached and passed. My condolences to her family and all who knew her.

I’ve known Lynn ever since I ran a fund drive to give her some gifts when she was sick back in about 2001. We became friends at that time, and we used to commonly chat, exchange Christmas and Birthday gifts, etc. I still have the last two gifts she gave me, Good Omens by Terry Pratchett and a silver 1-ounce coin, which she joked at the time was a special Mafia “favor coin.” As in, if I ever needed someone “whacked” to just send it back to her.

Over time both of us sort of drifted away from each other. There was no reason other than both of us reduced our time on the SDMB, for different reasons, and so we just lost touch.

She was the one who banned me for an afternoon - well, I was banned but not really, to try to deal with a potential internet stalker. Long story not worth repeating.

At the Moderators fest I tried several times to talk to her, but those of you who were there remember she was very sick and weary. The flight took about everything out of her she had left. I think my last message to her was last year.

I’m very sad, but I also can’t say this was unexpected. She was very open about posting regarding her poor health, and at times it just seemed her indomitable will was all that kept her going.

I’m so very sorry I lost touch with her.

I’m so sad to hear this. Thanks, Fluiddruid, for setting up the donation thing. Child’s play is one of my favorites also and I’m sure she’d be happy to know about it.

Aw hell. My condolences to her family and friends.

I talked to her once about being named after a fine typeface. She was cool.

Wow, I guess I’ve been here a decade, too. And you just expect some people to always be here for you (especially movers and shakers like Lynn… you feeling ok, TubaDiva? Ed?).

I hope my appreciation for everyone who takes time to post here comes through (in between the insults, of course).

I’m very sad to hear it. Good thoughts to her family and friends.

She’ll live on in the hearts of all who use this board.

Having picked my jaw off the floor … Goodbye Lynn, I hardly knew ye, but you will be missed.

I’m so sorry to hear this.

I am very sorry to hear this. She was always polite and friendly to me. I enjoyed interacting with her and reading her posts. My condolences to her family and friends.

:frowning:

I remember I was glad she had come back after an early health problem, did not know she had gone worse, On a thread I made about “The Nightmare Before Christmas” she commented to me that “Am I the only one who sings along with Oogie Boogie?”

She had good taste.

My condolences to her family.

This year’s All Hallows’ Eve will be a bit sad, but I will imagine her somewhere singing along.
