I responded to Starving Arsehole’s outrageous comparison of Michael Moore’s first amendment patriotism to Lynndie England’s war crimes. When it became clear that he was in the grips of an irrational hysteria, I dropped it. 20 hours later, you come in and accuse me of hijacking. Sorry, but that’s just stupid, Streak.
I don’t know exactly what you’re referring to. I’ve thought of you as intelligent and rational–if a bit delusional, but in a FRIENDLY way–until the last couple days, when your foam-flecked posts have been MOSTLY insulting.

Sorry, but that’s *your * reality, and as a female who’s actually in theater right now—or will be in about four days— it’s a bit much. She’s the lowest-ranking person in the bunch, and her pregnancy has been repeatedly pointed out by some pretty-high ranking people(elsewhere) as proof of her reprehensible character. But the guy who got her pregnant isn’t being jeered at because he got her pregnant. Meanwhile, we have guys who treat every female as potentially pregnant(and only lazy sluts get pregnant), and yet ignore the fact that unless there’s a star rising over Bethlehem, she had some assistance in the matter.
I’m not retired, I’m female, and I’m sick to death of this attitude, because *I see it all the time. * Imagine what it’s like when the guys who are supposed to be fighting on your side have it. When David Hackworth, another retired vet, posts diatribe after diatribe on his website about how slutty, lazy, stupid, and worthless female soldiers are, and I see a pregnant PFC become the poster child for a scandal while all the higher-ranking males just get dismissed-----yeah, well, it stinks.
She’s not pretty, she’s not smart, but neither are any of the others. Funny how she’s the poster child, though.
*Psst. Did you hear that the infamous PFC Lynndie R. England is pregnant? And so are thousands of less famous service women in all branches, especially the Army and Marines. Please tell me what’s going on in your outfit. I’ve been getting serious stonewalling from the PAO folks at the Pentagon. They treat pregnancy stats with a higher security classification then the number of nukes in their arsenals. Am told they have no stats on pregnancy and they suggest it is not a big problem. This is totally opposite of what hundreds of troops have reported to me. If you can get your hands on some hard stats for your unit, please send ‘em along. Have the stats for the 101st Airborne and 3d Mech and they’re mind boggling. *
This is what some female soldiers are facing from their command, and from people who supposedly support the troops—the belief that we’re all lazy sluts who’ll get pregnant either to get out, or because we’re that fucking stupid. When David Hackworth posts shit like this—he’s a retired colonel----at least wonder for a minute *what it’s like to serve under people like this if you’re female. * Sure, some females are stupid and lazy, but what’s it called again when you tar the many with the behavior of a few? And it’s funny because I know that a lot of people who don’t think there’s anything wrong with it get absolutely enraged if you try to do that to anybody who’s not female.
Sorry, I am not upset because of her rank, her sex or her being pregnant. I am upset because she (and people around her) decided to cram chemlights up someone’s rectum. She is guilty of prisoner abuse. Now Iraqis will be less willing to surrender. Soldiers will die because of the actions of her and her buddies.
Bring them to trial. Find them guilty Hang them with a rope.
In LE’s case, let her give birth first as her child is guiltless.
Again, sorry to bring this thread down, but when I think of all these people have ruined, I see no other appropriate punishment.
They better get all the higher-ranking people that moved this along, then. I’m an interrogator, and what these scumbags did makes my job harder, and not in a theoretical way. Now when everybody thinks ‘interrogator’ they think somebody with a chem light.
What’s really irritating is that all this attention to these scumbags distracts attention from the poor people who were abused in this way. And we’re supposed to be the good guys in this situation. I don’t believe for one minute it ends with some staff sergeant. They need to prosecute this all the way up the chain.

I understand how pissed both of you are, and I think you’re both right. I think having Pvt. England held up as an example of women in the Army is about as bad as holding up Pvt. Lynch. Neither young woman has done anythign remotely heroic or deserving of high praise. England, of course, shoudl hardly be used int he same sentence as Lynch, who merely got lost and captured.

Glad to hear you acknowledge what Rush Limbaugh has already stated - that Lynndie England has the full support of the Right. If she’s “your ox”, well, have a nice time with that.
Give me a break. She doesn’t have my support. But neither do the ad hominem attacks going on here about her appearance, nor the hypocrisy involved on this board in criticizing me for insulting Michael Moore’s appearance but feeling free to make fun of England in the same way. I recognized my behavior was wrong and apologized really before anyone began to attack me, although of course this didn’t stop anyone.
One can revile England’s behavior without making fun of the way she looks. It’s telling that my opposition to the one is considered support of the other.
