Lyrics for a mystery song: White Camel

Hiya,

Someone I know on another message board heard an obscure song many years ago played on an obscure radio show… well heck, here’s what she says:

There’s a song I taped off the radio back in '86 that has me completely stuffed.

It was played on my all-time favorite radio show called “The House Party” where the DJ, Steve Rabow, would play 4 hours of obscure songs, rare remixes and novelty tunes. (Sadly, he has long since moved away to Florida, taking the show with him.)

He only played this song once and I didn’t catch the name of the artist or even the title. (I just call it “White Camel.”) I’ve been looking for a better copy ever since but since it’s so unknown I’ve had no luck finding out any info on it.

Here are most of the lyrics to the first verse and chorus. Note: the copy I have on tape isn’t very good and I can’t clearly hear every word. () means words missing:

Chorus:

Unfortunately the second verse and bridge are even more spotty, or else I’d post them as well.

Does anyone have any hints to the title or artist?

I put it to you, the teeming millions. Can you help the poor lady out?
