Lyrics help, please. (Folk Song, obscure)

Back in the Radio Tube era I’d heard this folk song that was a great deal of fun. I can’t recall the name of the group that I heard do it. I can’t be sure of the title, either. I can’t recall any of the lyrics, but I do have the chorus down pat.

I believe the title is, “Boston Beans.” And the song is about how great the dish is. Including a couple of verses about how the Minutemen used the effluvia from the Redcoats, and their recent meals of beans, to good effect.

All I have, beyond that is the chorus, which I believe goes:

Boston beans! Boston beans!
A dish that’s fit for kings and queens.
If I had the money and I had the means,
I’d fill my barn full of Boston beans!

I have found, with my Google-fu, a listing for a single songbook that claims that it includes a song titled, “Boston Beans.” But there’s no way to check inside to see whether it is my Boston beans song, or not. And at $55 for a single copy I’m not eager to shell out just to see it.

In case any one is interested, when the current Pit thread about the National Anthem got hijacked towards potential other National Anthem, this is the first song that came to my mind.

If you go here and click on Boston Beans you’ll be treated to the first 29 seconds of this Peggy Lee number. It doesn’t contain any of the detail you give but it might be enough to enable you to identify whether it’s your Boston Beans or not.
