Lyrics, What Song?

This was a song that got radio airplay, probably in the 70’s. I’m pretty sure I don’t own it. The lyrics I remember are a chorus I think:

“85 or 90 miles an hour, that’s slow, slow, slow” and it seems like the start of the next phrase is “I’ve got to keep it…”
Google is inundated with hurricane wind speeds.

It’s an earworm that caught me up trying to beat a train to a crossing today.

TIA!

Hmm. The first thing that comes to mind is Sammy Hagar’s “I can’t Drive 55”.

WAG (but probably wrong): “Beep Beep” by The Playmates?

Could it possibly be Break My Stride by Matthew Wilder?

If so, the lyric is “Ain’t nothing gonna break my stride…I’ve got to keep it moving”

The Guess Who had a song called ‘Clap for the Wolfman’ with DJ Wolfman Jack. It had the lines:

Seventy-five or eighty miles an hour she hollered, slow, slow, slow
Baby, I can stop right on a dime
I said, hey, baby, give me just one kiss - she said no, no, no

That’s it, and my missing the speed by 10 mph is why I couldn’t Google it.

Thanks for helping me clear the cobwebs!

Seven and a half hours.

We’re losing our touch.

‘Clap for the Wolfman’

Yanno, it’s kinda hard to tell if it’s about cars or a STD.

May I use this thread for another mystery song? I have so little info about it that it didn’t seem worth starting a new thread, but maybe some Doper music buffs can help.

I recently made a road trip with friends and in the car we heard part of a '70s sounding pop/funk song on the radio that we’d never heard before but that had an oddly familiar keyboard or synthesizer part. We were pretty sure it had been sampled in a more recent hip hop hit, but couldn’t think what. One of my friends suggested it may have been sampled on Dr. Dre’s The Chronic album, but a little research on Wikipedia and YouTube hasn’t turned up anything that sounds like the song we heard.

The song was a sort of mellow, happy song with a male vocalist. The gist of the song was that the singer was walking down the street on a sunny day and feeling happy. The only lines I specifically remember are “I’m free” and something about jheri curl – I think either “the sun shining on my jheri curl” or “the wind blowing through my jheri curl”. I feel like the street was described as looking yellow in the sun. I’m getting nothing useful from Google with any of this, and since it’s been several days now I can’t remember anything else about the lyrics.
