I thought it was dirty pillows? (I like to use that one, too.)
Agree on the Pet Sematary one. And, to add my own, the last line to Pet Sematary. “‘Darling,’ it said.”

“You have forgotten the face of your father!”
Roland of Gilead
Not a direct quote but, many, many, too many variations of:
And he never saw her alive again.
God, this gets old. Duma Key finally did me in. I won’t even try to read King anymore.
“I do not aim with my hand; he who aims with his hand has forgotten the face of his father. I aim with my eye. I do not shoot with my hand; he who shoots with his hand has forgotten the face of his father. I shoot with my mind, I do not kill with my gun; he who kills with his gun has forgotten the face of his father. I kill with my heart.” -Gunslingers’ Creed
My husband just bought me the new King book of short stories, Just After Sunset. Woo-hoo! I didn’t even know of its existence!
I liked Duma Key, and I’m hoping he’s coming back. Short stories were always his forte anyway…
“Scared enough to shit nickels”, Andy McGee from Firestarter.
“Jesus jumped-up Christ on a chariot-driven crutch!” I forget who said it, probably from The Stand.
I am a member of the Stephen King Library and get all the new books for $18.94, including tax. I think King is at his best with the short stories…one of my favorite parts in The Stand is all the vignettes, when the people who survived the Flu had a series of unfortunate accidents.
Now, for mine, because it’s just a creepy thing to think about:
From The Stand, “It was too warm to freeze and but not cold enough to starve.”
“I am not the potter, nor the potter’s wheel, but the potter’s clay; is not the value of the shape attained as dependent upon the intrinsic worth of the clay as upon the wheel and the master’s skill?” - Glen Batemen, The Stand
Another “Pet Sematery” one… “Sometimes, dead is bettah!” - Jud Crandall.
Bird and bear and hare and fish
Give my love his fondest wish
– GunSlinger
My favorite King line ever:
“Go then, there are other worlds than these.”
“You can never be too thin or too rich.” – Lily Sawyer, The Talisman
Not sure if this is exact, I’m pretty sure it was from It;
God makes kids close to the ground because he knows they will fall down a lot.
Came here to mention that one, and also to mention that there’s a song out there with those words as part of the chorus… But I’m having the devil of a time finding it. Any dopers out there know of what I speak?
I have a vague memory of this being discussed before. Maybe King Crimson? That would be fitting…
“Put on the uniform”
Todd from Apt Pupil
Also:
“Thinner” the Gypsy woman in Thinner
Yes!
“Green as the peestains in an Irishman’s underwear”-- describing a bad beer in Gray Matter
Wallis Simpson actually said, “No woman can be too rich or too thin.”
I’m not sure which book it’s in, maybe several, but I’ve been known to mutter, “Christ on a cracker!” I always feel bad when I say it, but it’s so amusing.
From IT:
Your hair is winter fire
January embers
My heart burns there too
