Wow. I was really surprised that Bonnie was voted out. Her expulsion pointed up a fundamental disconnect between how the Alts and the Norms are thinking which doesn’t seem to have been so blatantly obvious before. They voted her out not because she was a jerk or whatever, but because she had achieved what they considered to be growth. Yet, if she had truly grown or evolved or whatever, why cut her off from the possobility of winning the cash prize, while perhaps allowing it to go to someone who is not by their lights as evolved?
I think it reflects the Alts’ non-emphasis on money. They (other than the vampire guy :rolleyes: ) seem to value personal enlightenment more than money. So from their perspective, they could do more good by keeping the others who haven’t grown and allow Bonnie to move on because she’d already obtained what they consider valuable anyway.
I would like to state for the record that embodying the dark goddess does NOT give you carte blanche to be a complete and utter BITCH. Jesus Christ, she really is a wanna-blessed-be. HOW do these sorts of people get published???
Okay. So Fiona’s cards told her that things “weren’t as they seemed.” So she does a reading with Eric, the one that she quite clearly stated was making her confused, and not with Nicole, who was essentially unaware that there was a problem, and decides that Eric is a fine, upstanding gentleman who is telling her the goddess’-honest truth. Methinks that was one HELL of a massage he gave her last week. I hope Fiona’s watching this and feeling like a complete and utter moron.
A little dissention in the Alt ranks… hmm. Why is it every time Don talks about how evil he is, I laugh hysterically?
Gods… I just thought of something. If Homebrew and Otto are right (going by Bonnie’s vote-out), then there is the possibility that the Alts won’t give the prize to the one most deserving of it, because they’ll have voted all those people out by the end. Therefore, it would wind up in the hands of the person who is actually the most unenlightened. What if Tim wins it all?
I get that the Alts for the most part aren’t about money, but it still seems very odd to me that they’d want to set up someone to take away the prize who wasn’t worthy of it.
If Tim hadn’t won the trial I have no doubt that he would’ve been voted off. Since he was given a pass, they got rid of the anti-Tim. It still just seems bizarre.
And even if the Alts don’t value money (are they doing the show for free, I wonder?) or value enlightenment more, an enlightened person would seemingly be more likely to use that money in a way that the Alts would approve.
But she was such a dull bitch, not good at it at all! Although I did enjoy the convenient color-coding; white clothes for happy and black clothes for dark-goddess-bitch.
yeah, I think Homebrew summed it up pretty well. Since the true point of it to the Alts isn’t money, they didn’t think about it as punishing her.
I think they really just felt stuck. Since Tim is obviously the one they most wanted to go, they were empty handed when he won the trial (by sexually harassing Nichole).
Good show. My favorite part was Don challenging Art to some kind of goth nerd boy duel. And Art’s reaction. “Are you bringing negative energy?” “yes” “Then don’t come over here.”
Really, I got the idea that she hadn’t actually gotten the dark goddess, but instead wound up with the snippy goddess – that was the most pathetic attempt at darkness (after the vampire guy of course) I think I’ve seen.
Honestly, Avacado and The Primitive are the only two there who seem to actually be anything. Everyone else strikes me as some kind of wannabe poor actor/actress who are stuck on themselves and their “power” over others.

Art and Avocado seem to be the only ones with brains and integrity, although I didn’t think much of them voting off Bonnie.
