Suicide, my pale white ass. She had a list of high-powered D.C. officials who were her clients. She could’ve ended anyone’s political career and family life. The Government murdered her.
I must admit, the same thought passed my mind. The woman very likely had some POWERFUL enemies out there. I’m sure this theory will be popping up in other places soon - even if it is far from the truth, it has enough possibility about it to give it legs.
The way we’ll know that it wasn’t suicide is if her client list never surfaces.
Think about it: if she was going to commit suicide, wouldn’t she have sent the list to lots of media outlets before doing it, as a final “fuck you” to the people who put her in this situation?
I sure would have.
So if the list never shows up, it was a black bag job. Right?
I don’t know 'bout that. If she died at the peak of her newsworthiness, everyone would suspect the government whether they were responsible or not. Our gov’t is too smart for that – better to wait a year or two until her star has faded and nobody gives a fuck.
Besides, they probably didn’t physically kill her anyway. The NSA beamed telepathic thought-rays directly into her skull while computer nanochips poisoned her water supply, unconsciously guiding her to despair so vast and deep, she killed herself and didn’t bother to email her client list to anyone first (and if she did, Carnivore’s sentient spiders sniffed it out and deleted it before it passed the second router.)
It’s obvious, I tell ya. (Not that I give a fuck.)
I can believe that a well off person would arrange her murder. I don’t see any reason to suspect it, but that’s the kind of thing that fuels speculation for decades.
On the other hand, the US government sending their hit squad after her in the style of a million and one crappy movies? No chance.
Word. Why does the government always murder the people way after it’s too late? She already released her phone records. Why didn’t they murder her before that? It’s like the JFK murders- the government is accused of killing people into the 1980s, after they have told their story a million times and been quoted in a million books. But for some reason the government has to shut them up.
Also, what about all of her employees? They know the names of the high powered DC people they were poking. Are they all going to "commit suicide " too?
What we need is a world weary, divorced, hard drinking detective to solve this case and find a bit of personal redemption in the process. During the investigation he’ll probably have an affair with one of the former prostitutes, who seems like she might be the killer, only she isn’t. Clint Eastwood and Bruce Willis are a little long in the tooth for this role. Maybe a comeback part for Kevin Costner? No? How about Denzel Washington?
