Why does this need to be in the Cawthorn thread? Because the same PAC which torpedoed MC is the one releasing these allegations about Boebert.

As is so often the case, this seems far less about ‘slut shaming’ than it is about the wretched and shameless RW hypocrisy.
The site linked, IMHO, does a pretty good job of delineating what they think is the real issue with Ms. Boebert’s past (and what isn’t).
ETA: but the whole story has to be taken with a leviathan grain of salt.
Meh, unless they produce the evidence this isn’t going to have much impact. What killed Cawthorn wasn’t rumors about his behavior, it was having it on video for all to see. The press release only cites their own “exhaustive investigation” and an anonymous source.
And they seem weirdly hung up on the fact that she was an “unlicensed” escort, as if the real shame was her failing to fill out the proper escorting paperwork.
Edit: I see that they also posted some texts allegedly from their source and a photo alleged to be of Boebert from an escort website. Still pretty weak.
It’s a shame that someone in an honest, respectable profession left it for politics.
What the fuck is wrong with you folk? Boebert is loathsome, but pulling in some undoubtedly false hooker crap allegations is bullshit. Even if true, so what?
I do believe that “hypocrisy” has been mentioned more than once.
So what if a woman who’s had two abortions wants to make it illegal for millions of other women to have safe and legal access to the same?
People who use a position of power to oppress others for the same activities that they willingly engage in deserve to be shamed.
Slut-shaming, from the perspective of harassing a woman for her sexual history, is one thing, and I agree, as long as it’s between consenting adults (and not hurting anyone, like someone’s spouse who’s being cheated on), it’s none of our business.
But, if the allegation that she was a paid escort is true (and I agree, it may well not be), then she was committing a crime, and that’s a different issue.
Why isn’t it about hypocrisy, though? ISTM that someone who scolds her political opponents about “needing Jesus” and “family values” blather while concealing her own history of sex work, and who campaigns for banning abortion while concealing her own abortions, is being flagrantly hypocritical.
I have already remarked that I don’t particularly care whether the allegations against Boebert are true or not, nor do I think that she has enough in the way of good name or integrity to be significantly damaged even if they’re true to the fullest possible extent.
But AFAICT, if the allegations are true then the hypocrisy charge is entirely valid.
