Now that I’m moved into my new place, I can think about this again.
How about we keep this small and simple? Let’s pick a Saturday or Sunday, and hook up at the Union Terrace for a beer or two, maybe play some pool or something. Really, just a chance for us locals to say howdy to each other.

Our lovely Queen, err… Mayor has shut down the city this coming weekend for the Mayors Conference, this weekend isn’t a good time. Not sure when the Union is open at all. THe following weekend is better.
Well, June 22 is a possibility for me, but past the first week of July is still better.

Yeah, the Conference of Mayors is going to screw up this weekend. OTOH, the Dane County patrol boats have been armed with water cannon to blast away at boats that enter the “exclusion zone” around Monona Terrace, and there will be Navy Seals swimmin around looking for underwater infiltrators. Might be entertaining, even if expensive and pointless.
But yeah, let’s scratch this weekend. I hesitate about the 22nd because of so few replies… Gundy, could you do the 29th? Or were you talking about the week after THAT?
How bout we give folks to this Friday to state a preference for the 22nd or 29, or July 6 (when is Rhythm and Booms happening?, anybody know?). I have a long weekend around the 4th, but others might have holiday plans not involving Dopers.
Ben Masels Pot Rally this weekend should prove to be equally entertaining, especially with all the cops, FBI & mayors around, I’m gonna bring a chair and watch that for a while. R & B is the last weekend in June, always deserted downtown which is nice. I might be up at an IMBA mtn bike ride in Wausau though, but I’m sure it can go now without me, probably smoother too! 
The weekend of July 13/14 is good, art fair that weekend and Robbie Fulks at the Union, though it will be crowded there with him I bet, moreso than usual.
