Speaking of Madonna, what’s up with her and the religion thing? I saw her on CNN and now she’s a Jew, or something? It’s hard to keep up…but wow. The lengths she’ll go to for reinvention. <sigh>
I don’t think Madonna is a good actress by any stretch of the imagination, but projects in which she is not the lead or where she can bully the director, seem to do pretty well. I like her in “A League of Their Own”, “Dick Tracy”, and “Desperately Seeking Susan”. It seems to me that she’s just playing herself and she’s not a very compelling character.
I read a hilarious interview with Guy about why this film was a lot tamer than the original version.
He said he didn’t include nudity because he didn’t want everyone seeing “the Mrs.” naked.

I have a feeling this shipwreck won’t affect Madonna too much at all; I’m wondering how Guy Ritchie will resurrect his career if he’s known as “Mr. Madonna”.

IIRC, she’s into Kabbalah, or Jewish mysticism. From what I know of the trendy type of Kabbalah, it is far removed from its original context in Judaism.
