MADS: When is Gettydope this year?

Depending on your tastes, there are a gazillion things to do in and close to Gettysburg. Battlefield tours, brewpub, winery, fire and other history museums, scenic train ride, ghost tours, live theater, exotic animal zoos, and the Fallen Firefighter’s Memorial come to mind-all within an hour’s drive.

Really? I thought I was the only person in the boro who actually admits to living here. I don’t game at the moment, but my husband does, and I always feel like I’m missing out … so perhaps I ought to start?

Sorry, Scuba_Ben. I was thinking more of playing games on a regular basis here in Pottstown, not bringing games to the Fest, and for the very reason you mention. So, rockle, think you guys might be interested?

The book exchange sounds fun.
I’m in the process of sorting through my books and getting rid of some, so I should have a nice pile to share.

I will very likely be there. Are we firmly settled on the 9/15? I’ll have to double-check my work schedule, but there’s plenty of time for me to switch weekends if necessary. I shall bring my guitar, if requested, and I volunteer in advance to take the lazy non-cooking-person’s way out and bring the paper plates and name tags like I did the last two years.

Looking forward to seeing everyone again! (are we really on #4 already? Holy crap.) I wonder if it’s cool for me to bring the books I got from the last two book exchanges and toss them back in the pile… Not that they aren’t good, it’s just that, well, I’ve read them now, so it’s someone else’s turn.

As the “organizer” of the book exchange – absolutely! The idea is to spread around books you think other Dopers might enjoy reading – so books that at least two Dopers have read would definitely qualify.

If you promise to have patience for an utter “n00b,” then definitely. Email me and we’ll work something out.

You know, we really need to have someone look into the whole goat thing.

Leaving it to the last minute is not gonna work. Someone has to check out the local farming community, and reserve us a goat! And we need someone who can carry a goat in their . . . truck, I suppose. It’s already almost May, now, and it seems to me that that is pushing it, goat reservation wise.

hmmmmm . . . do goats eat kimche? Perhaps I should bring some fresh cabbage, along with.

Tris

Hmm… goats eat anything and no one will go near the kimche. This is one of those irresistible force and immovable object questions, isn’t it?

Or is it too early to start the kimche jokes?

Shut up! I always try the kimchee.

Ignore Gingy! The correct answer was, “It’s never too early to start with the kimchee jokes!”

I don’t want to know about the kimchee.
