Mafia: Baker Street [Game in progress]

Scratch Darth. Saw his vote for Rysto.

Just gnarlycharlie: where are you?

it just struck me that he seemed to know that lynches were resolved randomly. he certainly improved his chances of survival.

it appears Inner will be lynched. usually i would vote for next player i find suspicious but since i have more than one vote,

Vote Inner
Vote Darth Sensitive

That’s everybody, now.

I vote to hammer.

Would anybody care to comment on my thoughts up above? Did I make any obvious logical mistakes? Does anybody disagree with my reasoning, or have any suggestions? One obvious flaw is that it does, as noted, ignore the REASON for a vote. I think I’d like to tackle that next, and rank our surviving members by how strongly people seem to feel about their scumminess. It’d be tough to quantify that, but I guess if nobody comments, I’m just doing it for myself, and can use any system I want!

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a town turn gold to shit so quickly. Scum lynches on D2 and D3, 2 dead scum gifted by the moderator and town is still going to lose on Day 7, anyway.

Isn’t your vote a self-admitted OMGUS vote?

Oh, now we care about the quality of people’s votes? Go talk to the person voting me for being engaged in the game (Rysto), the person voting me for not taking anything said at face value (sinjin), or the person voting me because a little birdie told him to (mahaloth) or the others who are too lazy, bored or disinterested to find a real case and followed mahaloth and sinjin down their primrose path.

… isn’t the other person voting me? What exactly is lazy about my effort above? You are statistically a great lynch for town, and your flip might end the game (if you’re scum) or really narrow down the field (if you’re town).

I just think it’s a little hypocritical for you to say “you’re all lazy! Not like me, with my incredibly well-reasoned OMGUS vote with no further justification!”

I mean, I agree town has played awful this game, me more than most, but we’ve all blown this together, including yourself. And scum hasn’t played any better, in my opinion. Pleonast and wevets were only off the radar because they were literally not in the game. Pleo recieved serious attention before he dropped out, so we likely would have eventually lynched him.

Basically, your complaints are somewhat ill-founded and unhelpful, and your voting record is on shaky ground.

I never said I was good at mafia and I was thinking more about septimus than you. Your vote hurts but I soldier on.

How will my dying narrow down the field? Because it looks to me like everyone will simply go haring off again in new directions and Mahaloth will pick a new name from his list and another townie will get lynched.

I can’t help the voting record. I voted for who I thought was scummy. shrug

I will say, I think a mass claim is finally in order. People can leave off their powers (if they have any), but a general idea of names, who claims vanilla and who claims power, etc would be helpful.

I’ll go first. I’m Taryn Sharp, as I mentioned earlier, and I have a power of some kind. It has not been used.

Full claim:

Welcome to the game; you are Taryn Sharp

ROLE TYPE: Vanilla… ish
ALIGNMENT: Yours (Town)
WIN CONDITION: You win when all of Mine (Scum) have been eliminated.

Dear Miss Sharp -

I have reviewed your file quite thoroughly. Nothing in your professional history - solid but unspectacular career as a clerk for two middle-tier legal firms - or personal life - a string of ultimately unmemorable relationships not numerous enough to be interesting in that reard - suggests that you would be a likely participant in my game. But one must shake up the formula from time to time, don’t you think? Please attend my party, this Tuesday evening at my home. I look forward to seeing whether there is anything underneath your bland exterior other than a bland interior.

The foregoing is a metaphor, though of course if you tread wrong it might turn out to be rather more literal than you’d like. But hey, can’t make an omelet without murdering a few law clerks, I always say.

Quite sincerely,

M

POWERS:
You have a power! Huzzah! It is this: [redacted]

It may seem odd that a relatively vanilla character would receive a power of this sort.

HAPPY HUNTING!

CLUE: There is a man named Brian Donner in this game; he is a carpenter by trade.
(For the record: I love Storyteller color. This was a very fun role to read, I thought)

That’s a nice attempt to misrepresent my position, but that is certainly not the reason behind my vote. I’m voting you for being engaged about the wrong things for a townie. Both the tone and the content of those posts display significant frustration, which is very difficult to reconcile with a townie perspective on the scum night kill.

Uh huh.

Oh, did I vote for bad reasons? Sorry.

Unvote: Inner Stickler

I’ve spent quite a bit of time reviewing the vote record, and reviewing posts of all Scum (incl. Stickler) so I think “lazy” is unfair. “Real case”? Using the criterion I outlined, my case succeeds on its merits without the Scumminess pointed out by others. I specifically called Mahaloth’s vote strategy as “anti-Town” (though you may have been too bored or disinterested to notice). And my voting explanation never mentions Mahaloth, Sinjin, nor primrose path.

Skimming is a scum tell. :stuck_out_tongue:

Vote: Inner Stickler

OOG:

My apologies for my absence from the game, I’ve been on a project that requires attention every 6 hours, so sleep deprivation took a toll over the last three weeks. Sorry about that, it was not my intention to decrease the enjoyability of the game for anyone.

Right, I don’t think that we’re going to get anything else done toDay.

Vote hammer

I think that’s a safe enough bet.

This comment is interesting.

Yeesh, at least everyone come in and hammer it so we can find out what’s happening.

Vote Hammer
