I actually cool with hammering this Day too. Everybody should just vote and hammer so we can move on. Even if you all decide to kill me. I’m leaving my vote on astral and will hammer once I have access to a computer instead of being mobile.

I’m not pissed at all and I care; my vote to hammer comes out of interest and caring. If I did not care, I would drop out and just stay quiet. Let’s not take the game and make it personal in anyway. I just genuinely mean I am ready to hammer. The overall silence from the crowd seems to indicate that a lot of folks are content to just let the game sit silently for days. I say vote and hammer and let’s see what happens.

For the record, I have not been recruited and I am not 100% sure in who our remaining scum are(or is if there is just one). I am just going on vibe.

That’s what’s frustrating me. You have seven days of information to sort through. By now, I’ve probably said any number of things about everyone, some of it is probably contradictory or scummy-sounding. I’m by far the most vocal player in the game… and the best you can do to support your case is “vibe” after saying you had “nothing” yesterDay.

I think this discussion can continue post-game, but we had a thread(I can’t find it now) started a few years ago called “let’s improve our game of mafia” and we discussed theories on the game. Anyway, in that thread I believe I mentioned that I am in the camp that believes the following:

More or less, it is a crap shoot. The only time I’ve caught scum is when they make a major mistake, something I don’t think any remaining players have done in this game. I won’t go into further discussion about an ongoing game, but I did just catch scum on Idlemafia…because of major tells from Idle himself.

That is quite rare, though.

By the way, does anyone know where that thread is? The one where we discussed theories on mafia? I can’t find it searching “mafia” in the search engine.

I also think we should emphasize that “mafia” is strongly luck-based. We’re mainly playing a murder mystery story and “being right” and “being wrong” are largely just a matter of chance. I think this difference is why no-reveal games work in other venues. By accepting that the lynch is essentially random, it removes the angst of “being wrong.”

I agree entirely. In fact, I am not sure I have ever been lynched as scum for any kind of actual scum-slip or suspicious move that was actually motivated by me being on the scum team. I know, I know, someone will dig up one now, but the majority of time, I have just been lynched because of luck…or bad luck when I’m Town.

I enjoy the game a ton, though, but there is a ton of luck and not much we can do about it.

And I stick by it. Yes, scum make mistakes and so forth, but it is a huge amount of luck and I vote quite often based on “vibe”, even late game. This was nearly two years ago, folks. I even suggested resurrecting this thread over at Idleboards not that long ago to continue the discussion. I am still open to it after this game if you all like.
Anyway, I am sticking now with Astral.

1. The Day will not be unilaterally shortened. However, there will be an instantaneous hammer if at any time the number of votes on a particular player is equal to the total number of players -1. Also, you may vote to hammer using orange text; if more than half of the living players (ie, 5 or more for today) wish to end the Day and if there is a valid lynch candidate, we will end the Day 12 hours following the fifth vote for hammering.

I figured since you’re fine with hammering, we wouldn’t even need to wait 12 hours. We could get the Day over and done with instantly if you (the N-1th vote) cast a vote for sinjin too.

Or we could all just say “hammer” and wait for 12 hours.
