So, a thought that may or may not be worth something: If I were scum, and I knew storyteller was also scum, I’d be doing something to distance myself from him on Day 1, such as placing an early vote on him.
People who voted for storyteller on Day One, prior to his role claim:
One and Only Wanderers (town) Nanook of the North Shore
Blaster Master
I think it may be worth taking a close look at Nanook and BlaM (especially Nanook, since he seemed to be pretty skeptical of story’s role claim throughout the game).
**Koldanar **skirted around the issue like a little weasel.

This is probably going to sound stupid, but you said, “should I say I’ve been bitten by dracula”? Which is why I asked for people to type it just like I did. You didn’t do that. Seems like a cop out to me.
Ok…I haven’t fully reviewed yet but there are some things I want to discuss.
Hal : You’ve been toeing the modkill line all game. There’s been plenty to hide in what with the original story / OAOW debaucle, Blam and Sach, and story’s investigations, and yet you remain quiet. I can’t quite tell whether this is laying low, or scum evasions. You’re not lookin good though, bub.
**Blaster : ** Glad to see you back and posting. I do need to go back and review you and sach on day 2. You also went after OAOW when he went after story… but that might be a dangerous gambit for a Wolf to take. Bit of WIFOMing there on my part.
**MHaye : ** I hate having subs I think; I need to look at darth’s actions as well as yours…and may even need to look at your actions as both townies from you. As is, I was never comfortable with Darth all game (and I even made it explicit with a vote at one point). I need to look back at all the actions and see. As it is now, darth made what he, in his own words, called a lazy move. Could just be covering a scum move with bad logic…but thats such a flimsy excuse right now I think I’m more inclined to actually believe at least that one.
Santo Joker : You’re on my short list bub. Of probable town…I don’t know that story would have risked his first “investigation” on a wolf.
Fretful : Story went after you a little on day one, and since you seem to have hovered pretty well below notice. You were SURE there was no scout; how can we not know now that this is also because you knew there were only 3 wolves, and no power roles (now with the power of hindsight).
Pollux : I really really don’t have a read on you one way or the other right now. You’ve gone after townies so far, but we all have at one point or another. You were with me on the lynch story on night two, but we both seemed to have lost that train of thought.
Nanook : AGain…not much of a read. I do know Hal had a strange and flimsy case against you and Shadow both.
Hey all. Just wanted to let you know that there are 48 hours from about 15 minutes ago left in the Day. Three of you are cruisin’ for a modkill, just thought I would let you know.
I don’t see where you are getting that I was skeptical of story throughout the game. I made a few posts under the assumption that he was wolf, but that’s because assuming he’s town doesn’t leave a lot to discuss. You just end up with stuff like “He investigated these people, maybe one of them is a godfather, the rest are confirmed town. Yay!” What’s the point of saying things like that out loud? Eventually you would have to consider the possibilty of a godfather hiding in there, but it isn’t an immediate worry.
As for my vote on story, there’s not much to say about it. He made what looked like that the time(and seems likely to have been, now that we know his alignment) a scum slip. When I asked him about it, he had nothing really to add. So I voted him, he claimed, I unvoted him. What do you expect me to do there really?
All that said, I’m actually kinda glad that you are going to give me a closer look. A few people have said they don’t have a read on me, which I don’t understand, but I welcome a chance to dispell this idea that I’m not out and about in the game. I know I’m town, and scrutiny is not something I fear.
Well it’s more there were others I was focused on and I hadn’t put much thought into your motivations. Now that the herd is culled, I can look at each individual more appropriately.
Rugger is probably town, so that only leaves one unknown in the FS votes. BEST CASE, there must be at least one other scum voting for OAOW with story. Not anything that isn’t obvious. What we need is a vote post analysis of this again I think. With what we know now, we may be able to look back and see who was supporting story with his (now in hindsight) pro-scum playing, and jumping after OAOW. Not sure if I’ll have the time tonight, but I may do this for all votes, and vote posts over the next 2 days.
If I were a Wolf, and I knew for sure that there were only three wolves and no Scout, why on earth would I want to go around telling people that I thought there was no Scout? How would this benefit the Wolves in any way?
And I wasn’t SURE that there was no Scout, but I was definitely willing to bet that way, because I couldn’t see a way for there to be a Scout without wildly unbalancing the game. I am, however, far from an expert on Mafia mechanics, so I was quite willing to stand corrected when people said that there was a way.
(Incidentally, it wouldn’t surprise me now if there WERE a Scout – with an all-vanilla town, it would actually be a pretty good joke on the Wolves if there were.)
And for the record, I love poking you in Mafia games, since most time’s I’ve seen you play, you tend to have some attitude (So it’s all in good fun right? )
And not to metagame or anything, but might I remind you that the reason I gave Pleo in the Three Kingdom game that he shouldn’t vote for me during three handed is because I tend to be kind of a dick when town, and much nicer when I’m scum. I have no idea why, probably out of frustration because I’ve never been a very good analyzer of who’s scum since I didn’t take the time to develop those skills in my first five or so games (because I already knew who they were).
Anyway…back on track. Guys come on…just because today’s lynch is a foregone conclusion doesn’t mean we should take a break from finding scum. I have to wait until lunch to go back to my Day 2 re-read and analyze some more, but that doesn’t mean everyone sit back! Why is Hal lurking? Blam…was he playing poorly as sach pointed out, or a scum game? Someone pick up and run with something at least.
Of the non-story players still alive, I think Hal is scummiest. He’s barely participated, he’s clearly been skimming the thread(look at the whole interaction with Santo’s dracula plan), and he used a fairly weak argument to attack me and a known townie. When the underpinning of his argument got knocked out by Shadow’s death, he stated that he thought it sucked that he no longer had a case against me. This really strikes me as a case of trying to find a reason to lynch someone, rather than looking at the facts and statements and trying to figure out who to lynch, if that makes sense. I’m not sure I’m explaining what I’m trying to get at here very well. Let me know if it makes sense.
The more I think about it the more it gets to me…unless Blam has some sort of RL reason for being away, normally he’s in the game, being analytical, and pushing people around. Why wouldn’t a townie Blam be in here still picking others apart now that we have been given a scum? I know he likes to change it up from game to game, but he has struck me as laying low so far today.
