Ok, but if Storyteller gets mad for me sharing his secrets, let the record show that I caved under peer-pressure.

The scum board password is on the first page of the MST3K thread, I think.
There may still be a delay to have new accounts approved on the spoiler boards too. Not sure if Storyteller has taken off those controls.
Yay us. Remember there is no “I screwed up over and over again” in team. And it isn’t like I didn’t contribute. Shutting up after Day 5 or so was a boon to town.
The critics rave about “Evil Dead Mafia!”

Scummy Nominations for “Best Game Design” and “Best Color”!
Thanks to Story for a great game! Wish I hadn’t died so quickly, but I’m glad we won. For the curious, I was an investigator with the catch that I died if I investigated a Deadite, so my death was a by-product of investigating bufftabby on Night One; the red handprint would have been a cue to lynch her the next day if peeker hadn’t beat us to it. So, yes, buffy, you totally kicked my ass again; I picked you to investigate because you seemed like the towniest player. Congratulations.
HAHAHAHAHA! Brillliant. My new rule of Mafia - it could be a subtle and sophisticated ruse, but it’s probably just a screw up.
GG, town. Well played.
Congrats to town.
And my head lives to terrorize another group of unsuspecting adolescents!
Muwahahahahahahahahaha!
Thanks to everyone for an awesome game, especially storyteller and my badass partners in crime. I enjoyed every minute. Except that one where I got kind of lazy and allowed my as-yet-undetected self to slip up. I was talking a little too fast and loose at the wrong time, and I hammered myself. Ah, well. Still worth it.
I think my big problem was relying way too much on cool game mechanics and talking strategy with the other scum instead of spending more time on the actual game. Except the spreadsheet; I spent tons of time on that. Why didn’t anyone check it after I died, btw? I really thought that I didn’t need to vote for MHaye and JSexton because the town would be looking on their bandwagons to find the other scum, and I didn’t want to be there. I had bandwagoned for macey and thought that was enough. It just goes to show that whether or not it’s a smart strategy, town will try go after the players who don’t vote for scum. In this game, it totally worked.
The other problem was one all of us Deadites had…we figured out the whole SK thing waaaaaay too slowly and thus had the enormous task of trying to kill all the townies ourselves instead of letting them whittle down the numbers for us.
All in all, I want to hear what everyone thinks. Anybody have any hilarious behind-the-scenes stories to tell? You can read all of mine on the scum boards, of course.
My thought process might be good for a laugh or two. I’ll have to dig them out of my sent messages though, and they include the crappy part where I missed getting my night orders in to kill off Jsexton.
I haven’t read the scum thread yet, and I don’t want to sound all self-important, but I think my lynch was the beginning of the end for the scum. Not only did you lose a Serial Killer who wasn’t able to hurt you guys at all, which I’m fairly surprised you all didn’t put together, but you all really exposed yourselves to get me lynched too, and over Hal of all people. My top three suspects, the third of which I was too lazy to name and didn’t want to name after I got spoiled, were all pretty much determined from how the scum handled my lynch.
So, really, I’m thoroughly confused. I figured my cover was good enough to convince the town, and considering all the scum voted against me and I only lost by one vote, I think I did that. So, darn you all, darn you all to heck for costing me the game.
The Day six and seven votes also had the Deadites clustered, which was why they came out on top in the vote analysis I think.
And looking at the scum/SK boards, wow, you got even great color there Story! Really nice :).
My personally really big moment of ‘omg I got scum’ was when NAF claimed, because my win condition was:
WIN CONDITION: All Deadites have been vanquished, and there is no chance of an exclusive win for any third-party.
It lasted until Story told me he had made a mistake :(. When Total Lost had a similar reaction to Cookies’ PM, it convinced me she was town.
I agree with the sentiment that it is better not to allow PM posted, but on the other hand the extra reveal color does bring extra flavor to the game.
Oh and Millit, I admit not looking at your spreadsheet after you turned up scum, so I’ll encourage everyone to go and take a look if they haven’t!
Too bad you didn’t get the Sketchy Seminar Student PM up a Day earlier, would have helped brewha a lot I think (then I again I bought MHaye PM as well).
Reading the scum boards, it would have been a fun ending if brewha would have kept reading the Necromonicon and got sucked into Hell .
As for role PM quoting, I’m against it from here on out. I think storyteller mentioned this in the Forbidden Thread, but it’s not really fun to argue over slight differences in wording or dashed lines, though it was kind of fun to try to imitate style. Even though it completely failed! We eliminated the possibility of claiming the other cover roles early on, because it would have looked really bad if we had those powers but couldn’t actually use them. For example, if you claim DNA Detective, you’d better have some good results and some good rationales for who you’ve investigated!
I wrote that fake PM at like 3 in the morning, so yeah, I made some mistakes. I didn’t get to it earlier because I don’t think our priorities were there at the time. I don’t know if it would have convinced any more townies to back off–you had a pretty good hold on him!
Blaster, I think you’ve got a point. However, absolutely none of us picked up on the fact that you could only kill townies! It would have been great if we had, but it would have been really hard to let us know without letting everyone else know too.
He did. Remember:
I even pointed this out, and someone else commented on it.
:smack: Yeah, he did, but I don’t remember us ever picking up on it. Wasn’t that one of the reasons why he went down so quickly after claiming, though? He could kill people in dreams (not that we saw all the ways he could do so, but he did admit to one), but Deadites were pretty much immune to his powers, whatever they were? It might have been suicide to back off him once he revealed that.
Or maybe we were just dense about the whole thing. I don’t remember our thought processes, but I don’t think it occurred to us that we should have been trying to keep him around until too late. We went from doing really well to doing really badly in about one Day/Night cycle. The whole game changed, for me, when I realized we had a ginormous amount of townies to kill all by ourselves and most of our names suddenly came up on the suspicious lists.
Yeah, I fucked up early and often.
But, not entirely my fault! Macey used a different name on the scum boards. I found a scum slip and latched on to it like a pitbull. Then, of course I found out the folly of my actions.
Yeah, had I actually read through the scum boards it plainly stated that Macey was my partner in scumdom - but no.
And of course, by the time I figured it out, the bandwagon was a-rollin. Had I gotten off at that point, I woulda been fingered for sure.
Natlaw, here’s my final PM to Story:
My original day action would have been turn Blam into a zombie and have a double night kill on night 10 - which woulda been cool. But, since no one took my Roleclaims seriously, I changed it.
Yaaay, go Town!
I earned my first Night-kill this game, so that makes me extra happy.
Now, to stab Roosh in the face for badmouthing me in the Forbidden Thread…
This was a GREAT game!!!
Story: you’ll go down in mafia-history for that color!!
I just can’t wait to read the spoilers and scum tread
And AH was right on the Brewha-block
I knew (hoped really bad) she would understand!
