So 2 3rd parties down and 3 wolves
Cookies a goon
JB AN alpha wolf (not the alpha wolf, wasn’t there a game where wolves got promoted up the chain to alpha excet the omega wolf who was a role blocker)
Stan the wolf who even freaks out other wolves (so was he the scum investigator or blocker?)
Story said we could expect a godfather, an investigator and a blocker on the scum team.
Texcat was quite up on posting game thread links and stuff earlier on and really hasn’t later in the game, either suffering form game fatigue or decided that doing the legwork for town wasn’t worth scums while?
Also well done JB
Has anyone heard anything about Story - I assume he is just out due to things going well and having to deal with the usual “no sleep 'til 4 months” thing
I’d guess it’s very much the “I’m a parent!!!” thing keeping him away.
As for mod-kills… it’s almost always town who go silent, but I’m still (as a player) always in favor of them. Their existence is anti-game to the extreme.
The problem with waiting so long to mod-kill players who have been absent for a month is that it would almost assuredly give the game to Scum. Earlier on, Town could absorb the loss, now not so much.
I am with USC on that - I think it is best if non participants are just left it sucks but better than a mod kill that will skew the game one way or another. Subs would be better , but that is not always possible, and it always introduces meat game aspects when a sub has to deal with a prior playes play style/motivations/lies etc, but I think a particpation even if slightly skewy is better than none. Assuming plays can stay calm and not panic!
I ended up out of commmunications for several months on end whilst in the middle of two games (rykers island (town) and one where I was a vampire (3rd pty) can’t remember game). in both cases the Mod sust left me in the game and it seamed to work out OK.
Has Meeko ever played Mafia before, I ask not-entirely-jokingly? I’ve never seen such ridiculous fatalism from him before, and I know for a fact he’s been vanilla town at least once in the past. Throwing your hands in the air and saying “what’s the point?” when you’re vanilla is seriously anti-game and not fun for any of the other players, many of whom are - you guessed it - also vanilla.
I didn’t know anything about anyone, but that didnt stop me from gabbing away at anything and everyone.
Could be. I just don’t see scum throwing themselves on their swords like this. Lurking is proving to be a perfectly legitimate way to stay alive, as so many of our lynches have indicated.
What I mean is that when Meeko is Town, he usually does not hold any restraint. The fact that he seems more restrained is a departure from his usual town play.
My impression is that Meeko is always trying to ““play better”” but instead of learning from others or using common sense, he is just trying random different play styles and for this game he chose “”“lurker who makes no substantial posts.”"" Whether he’s scum or not is hard to tell because of the departure.
I think part of what happened with Meeko is that, his first two or three games, he ended up getting confirmed (once as a mason, once due to a balance mistake by the moderator that was fixed only after it ended up confirming him, and I think maybe once more), and so he got it stuck in his head that playing Mafia consisted in trying to get oneself confirmed. Which is nice when it happens, of course, but should hardly be taken for granted.
I’m skimming this game, and even I know that Suburban Plankton unknowingly self-protected on Night One. Not that that proves that there is no Doc (that that that!), but it is not evidence that there is one.
