Hello People! I’m following along too… I played one game here on SDMB (one game total anywhere, really). I’m sure that a 50+ player game would be too much for me to keep up with as a player, but I’ll enjoy trying to follow along.

The whole mafia thing is a mystery to me, but I’m curious. Got any Skor bars or sponge candy to go along with that popcorn?
I can scrounge up some Skor bars, but I’m afraid you are on your own for sponge candy.
For anyone who knows nothing about mafia, this should be a good one. Lots of people who have played a lot of games in this. It’s huge, but it’s full of good players.

How does recruiting work? Is “Recruiter” a power role?
Fitting that I was Modkilled instead of just subbed out, considering all the flak I caused by Modkilling Idle on the Giraffe Boards last game.
Sorry to all the mods and my fellow players. Rest assured that I am OK and I only backed out because I was not prepared to participate in a game of this size as much as I initially thought I was. I only regret that I didn’t realize it sooner.
In this game there is no recruiting. Recruiters are rare anymore (or were when I stopped playing) because it becomes tough to actually play the game if there is recruitment. It’s not impossible, but it’s hard to build a fair game and a lot of times the games end up being less fun.
The way recruitment works is one team, or several, has the ability to change another player’s win condition. So scum can turn townies into scum, usually not vice versa. Too much other stuff was already going on in this game, and I personally dislike recruiting games, so it was never really on the table here. It works better in smaller shorter games.
We ain’t mad attcha. Stuff happens, and frankly I’m amazed more people didn’t drop out. We maybe could have tried harder to sub you, but there weren’t good options waiting and when the first people I contacted turned me down we just sort of said F it, let it serve as an object lesson.
No worries. I consider it a compliment that my killers had to go to such extreme measures to make sure I was dead. I am one bad ass vanilla townie!
I would vote Septimus for this post. I’m exactly that far in the game thread when I decided to post here about my suspicion. I hope somebody in-game finds it suspicious.
I can never figure out what the hell is going on in these games, but damn do I love to watch them.

I would like to go on record as saying I absolutely HATE the “that’s my play style” defense and am disturbed that it is being used by pretty much everyone who has caught even the slightest bit of flack so far.
