A vanilla townie will make the least convincing case that he is indeed vanilla townie.
All other alignments / classes of player have everything that vanilla townies have and then some. It is this " some " that will have scum evade the lynch as we lynch vanilla townies.
This, to some degree is inevitable.
Why are we letting Pizza and Pleonast entertain the thoughts therein, serving only to accelerate the odds here?
But, yours, yours is a think asking for clarification on all things to stall and delay your response, so that when you have percison crafted it, you know exactly where to “place” it into the game state.
I think you want to make sure you aren’t giving away anything. I think you want to make sure you don’t want to stick out too far. I think you serve both purposes by asking for clarification so that you can respond with a bare minimum that satisfies the question.
Meeko, I’m struggling to follow you too, is there something specific you’d like to do to support vanilla town? What have Pleo, Pizza and Cookies done, or not done, to deserve a vote? Or is this simply a strategy disagreement? Would you prefer this to be an all-power role games where multi-vote is not allowed and Day cycles are much shorter?
But you, and others, have voted him for his vote. You’re questioning his motivation and using his vote as a sign of potential scumminess, isn’t that what holding someone accountable is all about? It was a weak vote, probably a joke vote as he claims, but he’s been forced to defend it and himself.
Why don’t you accompany these accusations with a vote? I nominated her early in the Day for a couple of minor things: responding specifically to being called out, not having anything to say for herself. Not a very strong case I admit but enough for an opening vote, a little pressure on her to see her reactions. For a single vote, so early in the Day, with thin reasoning, I’d expect her to ignore me, brush me off as a minor distraction, or joke back but her reaction was somewhat revealing (the sit-back-and-watch approach, the urge to, but restraint from, omgus, the exaggerated accusation of being fixated) and so I thought I may be on to something so I continued to prod and provoke. I think she’s overly concerned with how she’s viewed, overly cautious in relation to this game, over-reacted to a single vote, and generally has done nothing to make me want to unvote.
I’m still happy with my vote on** Johnny Bravo** and I’m not seeing the cases against Chucura or **Pizza **to be particularly compelling.
fubbleskag, if you’re working on an update to your Mafia extension, could you add the ability to flag specific posts as scummy or townie and/or a +/- button that I could click to keep track of an individual player’s scummy vs townie actions?
The way I see it, the main thing scum has that town doesn’t is information. So, depending on each scum, you’ll sometimes see them passionately defending someone who’s about to be lynched. Why would they, if they don’t have information on them? You’ll also see them conspicuously avoiding contact with someone else, no matter what happens.
Other then that? Like you, I guess you have to wait for several Days to pass, re-read continuously and try to ferret out who’s who. It’s mostly guesstimation, if you ask me.
To answer Cookie’s comment about my vote for **orthohedron **: The reason I’m voting for him/her is not really because (s)he is a newb; it’s because the only thing I’ve read so far from him/her is: an apologetic explanation about him/her being a newb and a couple of fawning comments as well.
The problem being: it’s a way to paint him/herself as a harmless newcomer. Nothing to see here!
I much prefer a newb who dives right into the fray. That helps both town and gives us some actual information about the player.
I also have no idea wtf Meeko is saying; it’s almost like he’s posting via some kind of text generator…
This is on my wishlist; I just need to find a decent way to store the +/- values; at the moment I’m looking into cookies, but realize these are not ideal - it’s not clear to me yet if the chrome extension system allows for some type of local database built into the browser or if I can somehow make use of HTML5 offline storage.

are you seriously voting me for a lynch in this game for something I did in another game several months ago on another forum? I just want to be 100% clear that’s what’s happening.
Heads up: I’m in kind of a shitstorm at work, so the man has me working the weekend and I have a tenant moving into an apartment on monday, so I am seriously booked this weekend… I will do what I can to catch up and get some votes in, but mafia isn’t currently my top priority. Sorry about this.
