Mafia - Game in progress [Edited title]

I’m responding as reading, so I don’t know where this has gone if anywhere, but to answer your question…

No I don’t find anything YOU did as Scummy.

I find Pizza’s Comment: “Vote anyone except for Cookies” very WIFOM, and I just want to know why he singled you out.

Meeko isn’t voting for me because of Pizza’s post where he advocated not voting for me. His vote was made prior to that satement. As best I can tell, Meeko is voting for me because he thinks I hate Vanilla townies.

Fair enough.

Um, this is ridiculous Pizza, you’re saying that Day 1 and Day 2 we should just vote, but not make any kind of case because the cases don’t matter. You reason that this is a good idea because it worked for you in previous games. So when should we start making cases? What should we base those cases on since everything from Day 1 and Day 2 is worthless? I might as well just vote for everyone else at the beginning of Day 1 since the cases don’t matter.

In fact this post is so much fucking horseshit I can’t help but

unvote Johnny Bravo

Vote Askthepizzaguy

Good point. And don’t call me “love”.

vote Ryjae

I have to say the more I keep reading about the Pizza situation, the more He pings me…And the fact that he didn’t answer my question about Why Cookies, and no one else…

**Vote: ATPG **

Howdy folks! I’m recovered (mostly) from being sick over the end of the week and the weekend. I’ve finally gotten caught up and am ready to respond to a number of posts from the last 3 days…

I do have a list of all votes and unvotes (which is at least mostly correct), and can post it if there’s interest.

MHaye’s tallies (most recently at 519) show both votes and unvotes.

I’m always interested in seeing updated counts, though, so feel free to post your own.

Yeah, there’s really no point to Day 1. We have no chance of doing anything positive, so why should we even try? Day 1 should really be 20 minutes long, and the first player to get to 1 vote should be lynched. Then we can get on with Day 2, when we actually know something.

**vote RyJae **

Why?

I disagree; they are very different.

A vote carries weight. People with votes are in danger of being lynched.

A nomination means nothing. It’s simply an FOS with a different name.

Someone who has nomintated but not voted has done nothing of substance. Someone who has been nominated but not voted for is in no danger whatsoever (lynch-wise).

It sounds like you’re both saying kinda the same thing? Vis a vis

and

I no longer am pinged by UCSDiver; thus, no vote. I believe Chucara, Pizza, and RyJae to be better Day 1 targets.

I wholeheartedly agree if I wasn’t trying out Pizza’s plan. As the nomination phase leads into the following phases, a nomination records a “likely” vote, and absolutely represents some lynch danger.

As I mentioned to Choie, all votes are nominations but not all nominations are votes, and I tracked them accordingly.

Well, my suspicions continue of choie, and by association texcat and silver. Nothing from choie in 4 days, Silver and Texcat seem quite protective of her here and here, Texcat’s complimentary here. I won’t comment further on choie- she’s given nothing more to comment on and if no-one else is seeing what I’m seeing, I’ll need to just move on for now.

SilverJan:
#138 Confirms
#232 Brief comment on Pizza plan, thinks scum will have early advantage
#279 Doesn’t like baseless nominations or editing
#280 Joke-y comment to Pizza
#282 Fluff-y comment to Texcat, likes her links
#351 Votes Chucara for his unaccountable vote, pizza for vote on Red, thanks choie for the compliment
#478 To me, explains how a vote can have no accountability, still likes vote on Chucara, asks Chucara why he thinks scum would jump to vote him. This question just feels weird, don’t know what it is about it:

#479 Asks me why I’m voting choie
#480 Dislikes lynch the lurker

  • No smoking gun, generally quite quiet, a post that feels weird to me, the interactions between choie, texcat and silver, an “off” feeling

Texcat:
#123 Confirmed
#181 To Babale, quotes moderator re: stalker, doesn’t seem to like multi-vote, comment on issues with pizza plan
#185 Repeats previous comment on stalker
#241 Posts list of links
#334 Dislikes votes on Ortho, votes Diggit, Chucara and Pizza for their votes
#433 To pizza, lurking seems to work, defends vote to chucara - opportunism on a newbie, comments on me/choie
#435 To Silver, explains how to maintain list of posts, quotes choie’s comments on several players noting its accuracy
#503 Summarizes fubblegate, is content with votes, disinclined to vote a noob

  • She’s here, playing along, being useful but distant, clinical, meh

Ok, back from a wasted weekend, but thankfully the pressure is a bit off at work.

However seeing as you seem awfully intent on killing me over pancakes, I’ll just state what I think so far:

  • Over pancakes?
  • I know your top lynch candidate is wrong, and I am quite convinced Pizza is town as well. I simply don’t see why on earth he would defend me (and so elaborately) as scum. If I’m wrong, sorry. I assume he is trying to save me because he knows how mindbogglingly awesome a mafia player I am, and that he is also town and would like to win.
  • Pancakes - seriously? :stuck_out_tongue:
  • I will leave my vote on Orthohedron as my gut tells me he is slightly more likely than average to be scum. If you prefer, I vote him because of ‘syrup’, that’s why. Can’t have pancakes without syrup. Or at the very least jam.
  • Right now - if we weren’t trying out Pizza’s plan ™. I’d vote those people with the least participation. But as I can’t figure out an easy way to make a post count on a single thread (excluding sign-ups) and that I’m likely to be out of the game soon, I won’t out of sheer laziness. It seems to me that where town almost always goes wrong on day one is to lynch those who participate the most, giving scum ample hiding room. I strongly believe that in this game, it is a solid strategy to encourage (by the sword) participation. It’s been a loooong while since I last played scum, but as I recall, any minor even (even a single random vote) can send the scum board buzzing, thereby putting pressure on them. Get a bandwagon starting on scum and they will be pondering whether or not to come to the aid of their mate, whether to vote for him/her, or whether to try to ignore the issue.

TL;DR

Please pick another target than ATPG. We are by my persuasion (if not, take that as a compliment, Pizza) both town. At least try to get some info by finding a slightly more likely scum candidate.

My best bet is Ortho., but on D1, it stays a guess.

I think, though I could be wrong, that RyJae is leading the lynch vote?

I have it:

I’m still undecided on Pizza.

On the one hand, I feel like he’s a Scummy Pizza, deftly trying to steer the Town in exactly the direction he wants, for his and his cohorts’ nefarious purposes.

On the other hand, I think he might be a Townie Pizza, skillfully attempting to steer the Town in exactly the direction he wants, for our collective own good.

Replying as I read, to speed this up.

Yes, I wasn’t necessarily disagreeing with you, but I wanted emphasis what action should be taken when with respect to lurkers.

Whence comes “(at least) two less townies”?

Unless I missed something in the rules, we have no information about the number of players who are likely to be killed at Night. pizza’s comment looks like a privileged information slip.
vote Askthepizzaguy
for a privileged information slip.

Can you explain your reasons for your vote better? It seems to me that your vote is based on pizza actively playing. We need more active players, not fewer.
vote RyJae
for voting a player who’s too “verbose”.

I think is this a poor tactic. Unless we’re at lynch or lose, it’s no great loss to let someone shift votes to save scum. Because we’ll see the shenanigans and be able to react to it.

I have no complaints about this post, in itself. But just a few posts ago:

Does this not apply to votes on you? Why do you demand ortho defend their vote on you?

~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Note, I feel more strongly about my vote on pizza than RyJae, but I’m happy to lynch either one.

I think in this case, Pizza means 1 lynch and 1 night kill (and thus two bodies), and brainfarted that he was postulating a lynch-less Day. That’s easier for me to believe than a slip.

But since he’s currently our lynch, that distinction doesn’t much matter. I’d like him dead for other reasons.

Pleonast: we were told this was a fairly basic game of mafia. Assuming one lynch and one night kill (or more) is not privileged information.

I seriously think we are making a mistake here. I think Pizza is being genuinely helpful. I think he is simply somewhat excited to see us actually trying out his idea. I agree that this does make him seem like he is steering us in the right/wrong direction, but I don’t believe this to be the case.

RyJae

Of the top three candiates, RyJae is the only one I think has a chance of being scum.

Now to defend the other side! Pizza said after a no-lynch day, there would be TWO dead townies. That’s what Pleonast is commenting on. If we don’t lynch, and Pizza has slipped, that means scum can (at least once) perform two night kills, or know of another kill such as third party.

Or, like in Evil Dead 2, they have a teammate who must kill tonight to join their scum boards. That would be two kills right there.
