Lol thx.
So have you heard anything past confirmation for Star Wars 7, 8, & 9? I thought there was some rumblings about the return of Hamil and Jackson in their Jedi roles. I hope so.
I know they said they were done with anything related to Eps. 1, 2, & 3. The went as far as calling the 3D rerelease a waste of time.
Ooh, I’m actually of the opposite mind. The Star Wars universe is supposed to be a huge, vibrant place. I’d love to see some stories following new Jedi in new places, exploring what it means to be in a universe that’s had its third government in twenty years. Lots of lawlessness, corruption, and interesting stories to be told in such a universe. I think it would be a bit of a waste to have familiar faces AGAIN. Makes the whole place feel tiny.
While I consider the Old Republic setting to be a pretty big copout overall (it’s thousands of years ago but everything is exactly the same except for MORE LIGHTSABERS), I do love the idea of maybe seeing some new stories written there.
The setting of the original trilogy is definitely starting to feel played out.
I’ll be far more interested in any SW movies that contain little-to-no references to the existing movies, but I don’t see that -ever- happening - if for no other reason than merchandising concerns.
Maybe skip Mace Windu, I think his role was just SW saying “LULZ WE HAZ SAMUEL JACKSON!” but I’m a Samuel Jackson fan so that’s fine by me. However it would be nice to hear that Skywalker became one with the force and then they feature Mark Hamil’s spirit guiding the new guy for just a few minutes of the film.
He got zapped and sent screaming out of a window to his implied yet inconclusive death. Plus he was a Jedi master, supposedly more skilled than Anakin at the time. Anakin flew in that movie using the force, if he can do it Windu should be able to do it too. I think they left that open on purpose.
