Mafia - Game in progress [Edited title]

The mason claim is approaching magic bag status
** guiri ** did not acknowledge ** diggit ** * although I don’t recall him discounting the claim either *
I’ll go find the vote counts to check.

** diggit ** if ** guiri ** left any bread crumbs for you this might just be the time to point them out to us

I’m not sure I follow you, LightFoot. **Diggit **has claimed the “OWT – Let’s reveal ourselves – TTW” Barn message from Night 1 stating the second T at the end is Third. Given that **Guiri **has been revealed as “The First Witch” I feel fairly confident that **Diggit’s **claim is valid and he is “The Third Witch.” As for what OWT is supposed to stand for, I dunno, doesn’t really matter. I would assume there is “The Second Witch” out there somewhere.

I really, really, really disagree with this. We now know absolutely that there are mason/witches in the game. Diggit has said there are 3 of them. I think Diggit is now 99.9% confirmed, since Guiri did not counter him. And the second witch will be 99.8% confirmed if there is no counter when they claim. There is no reason to claim and make yourself a night target.

TexCat here has the right of it. Scum would still be playing the “claim/counterclaim game,” which is just fine for town.

Cooking up a new updated-and-colored vote chart. We have a fair number of names to color in, which should point to people what need further examining.

Lynch: “Stanlislaus,” The Werewolf That Even Freaks Out the Other Werewolves
Night Kill: GuiriEnEspaña, Town Mason (now I can finally stop typing that fancy “ñ”)
Night Kill: choie, Town Peasant Redshirt

I agree with regards to being a Night target, but having two confirmed Town is helpful during the Day, knowing we can trust what they say to be genuine.

** guiri ** has left this plane IF he left a bread crumb it can only re-enforce ** diggit’s ** claim
It doesn’t out a living playerl

I don’t think Diggit’s claim really needs reinforcing right now. I’m not sure what you’re getting at, Lightfoot.

Interesting. The Barn is certainly a cool mechanism; I’m going to have to steal that and use it in a game I make in the future.

I agree with Texcat entirely. The other remaining mason should remain quiet for now.

By quiet, I mean don’t claim. Feel free to talk.

I think our remaining Mason should choose by him/herself, and not listen to this discussion at all.

On the other hand, I had a little pet theory that meant that the lowest posting Player was killed each Night. I guess it’s wrong, but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t urge them to post. I don’t know anything about you, orthohedron, so I hope you don’t mind if I

vote orthohedron

Any other “invisible” players?

No breadcrumbs I noticed. But after all, some people already noticed that Guiri’s id is in line with my barn message; I think that should suffice.

Any hints as to the identity of my second com(p)adre (aka Witch) would necessarily be picked up by the wolf pack, so I don’t think it would be wise for me to breadcrumb at all. Which would make my death by Night worrisome… that would be the only reason at all for him/herself to out him/herself during this Day.

Well, let’s get this show on the road. I think we’re beginning to finally have some real data to chew on.

Thanks for the list, Astral. I went through it and crossed it against post counts (I haven’t been keeping a running tally so I just used the total posts for the thread). We have a few players who have definitely been flying under the radar and I want to have a conversation about them.

By my count there are 17 players left. I looked at the voting tallies for the bottom quarter of us.

Astral Rejection 140
ComeToTheDarkSideWeHaveCookies 120
USCDiver 84
Johnny Bravo 73
LightFoot 67
fubbleskag 56
Suburban Plankton 56
Mahaloth 49
Meeko 47
DiggitCamara 31
Dizzymrslizzy 30
TexCat 26
orthohedron 23
Babale (14) (two votes, two unvotes)
wombat99 (11)(eight votes, one unvote)
Red Skeezix (9) (eight votes)
gnarlycharlie (5) (six votes, one unvote)

Those vote numbers were done by a very scientific ctrl+f scan by me through Astral’s list, so I’m kind of assuming that the formatting is consistent throughout. I may be off, especially if I missed an instance where somebody voted and unvoted in the same thread.

I also went back and subtracted pre-day posts for the bottom four. That’s why those numbers are in parenthesis.

Two things strike me:

  1. **Babale **failed to actually vote for anyone. He cancelled the only two votes he cast.
  2. The other three have a lot of votes compared to their posts. **Gnarlycharlie ** actually has voted **more **than he’s posted. They’re all casting lots of votes while generating very little in the way of cases or info that we can look at later.

Right now I’d like to hear about why these players have been so unwilling to build cases. I’d especially like to hear why **Babale **hasn’t seen fit to actually participate in any of the lynches.

While I’m at it, I’m going to go ahead and:

Vote Babale
Vote gnarlycharlie

for the above reasons. I also think Wombat99 and Red Skeezix also need to show up and start participating, but for now Babale and Charlie are my top two picks out of those four.

it appears I as miss understood AGAIN ( it’a a pattern) as a mason it the past I/we have left little clues that other masons could point to - in the event of a death - to prove we were a team- that’s what i was asking for-

You can trust them, but that doesn’t give them any better knowledge or make them any smarter than the rest of town. So this is actually of almost no benefit to town.

vote: USCDiver

For better or worse, I’m still leaning Town on Babale. I still don’t see a scum or third party motivation for the Day 1 paranoia on the barn, and Stan The Now Known Scum was voting for her (is Babale a her or a he?) out of the gate on Days 1 and 2.

If Diggit ends up getting killed without overtly confirming the third Mason/Witch, then the third is effectively vanilla, unless s/he can point to some sort of covertly confirming breadcrumb or secret code that the rest of us will swallow. Since they can’t apparently communicate, I would think any covert options are going to be limited.

Losing Diggit would suck and I certainly hope it doesn’t happen, but I felt the same way about Guiri when I didn’t know what he was too, and low and behold he ended up dead all of a sudden.

Two confirmed and trusted players being able to coordinate in public can be useful. Do I know for a fact that they would prove to be useful in our current situation? No, but I don’t really like Texcat’s vote on USCDiver for simply arguing the other side of the strategic coin from the strategy that she’s arguing, which is to keep the third Mason under wraps. Both strategies have their potential advantages so I don’t see one over the other as worthy of a vote. So Texcat, what else do you have on USCDiver? This is the first time you’ve voted for him.

Well, technically vanilla, but still generally unlynchable, which is the point of a masonry. Diggit’s death without revealing his partner is the same as if he had revealed. When the claiming comes due, that person will say “I’m the last mason.” A lack of a counterclaim will “prove” their claim. Scum will not falsely claim to be that last mason, because they’re offering up a team member for a lynching if they do.

Unlynchable I’ll give you. Wasting something like a Cop investigation on the third mason when we could catch scum or the SK with it instead would be not so good though.

Sorry guys, ** very** unlikely that I’ll be able to read or post before late Monday night.
