I think our remaining Mason should choose by him/herself, and not listen to this discussion at all.

No(to the not listening part), that’s sound advice for investigators. The mason should at least listen to advice in making the decision. I do agree they have to decide on their own in the end. My advice is, for the moment, for them to not claim.

I did not vote you the first time that you argued that the last mason should out himself. I tried to show you how I thought that was a bad idea. But I did vote you the second time when you continued to say that exposed masons would be good for town.

The downside is that having 2-3 confirmed Town out of 24 players is not as useful as having 2-3 confirmed Town out of 10 players. Sure the Doctor can play WIFOM with Scum, but if the Masons are not in any more danger than any other Townie why should they claim now?

I’m having a hard time even conceptualizing a reason why Masons should reveal themselves at all at this stage. Any fake Mason claim by scum is a boon to town at this point. The only exception I can consider is the case where there is a two player Mason group and one of them is concerned about being night killed leaving the other unconformed. Hopefully using the Barn messages will mitigate this risk to some degree.

choie, **storyteller **has already told us there are Masons in this game so that shouldn’t be up for discussion. Your scenario is what I was referring to in my previous post as a boon to Town. The scum, in effect, trade two of their ranks for two Masons. I’d take that trade any day! The only time this gambit is useful for Scum is when we are close to confirming enough Town players to out-right identify all the Scum. The gambit is designed to buy them one additional mis-lynch.

Then maybe you should re-read the quotes you provided. Particularly where I said having 2-3 confirmed town later in the game is more beneficial than on Day 2 and when there are two Masons remaining and one is in danger of being Night killed.

I’ve never been too good at interpreting Meeko, but I think he’s trying to somehow equate your post with his position from yesterday that we couldn’t trust the Barn message even though we now have empiric evidence that we could indeed trust the message.

Okay so here’s my understanding…

-The Wolves or someone (can’t even really trust who the message was from), wanted Guiri dead, and made a way for him to either be NKed or possibly lynched today if we believed the barn claim…

• The last mason should probably stay hidden. IMO, I’d rather them stay hidden as long as possible, because we don’t need a firm target on anyones back right now.

USC- Regarding the Barn posts. I think we should take it on a case by case basis. I had a gut feeling to trust the barn post for Stan. IDK if I would have believed it for Guiri. He was giving off a town feel for me.

Figured I would get votes after my last rant.

The only thing that’s changed, is my overall perspective on how the game is played. We all know its broken, I now know no-one wants to fix it.

Out of curiosity, Maha, to what sample are you comparing my play? Rest assured your sample comes from a game where I had more time and or a better role than what I have now.

This is as close as I think you guys are going to get.

Per this instance, it looks like I am eating my hat. You guys will look at this as proof positive that I was wrong, and forget that in this one case it was the exception to the rule.

I was wrong in the immediate case. Don’t let that confuse future situations of similar cases. Losing a battle here, winning the war.

I feel, for what ever reason, that as a player, I need to make marked progress (experience) in my play over time, over games. The problem though, is that the games (the set up, and mechanics) doesn’t stack up like that. They might all be mafia games, but they are apples and oranges.

And I feel further and further out playing in left field with each one. … To the point that I’m not sure if the other team is still at bat or not.

Perhaps not SO much on this game specifically, but this game was the one that made me see everything.

To be honest, orthohedron, I hadn’t been paying much attention to the lurkers the last couple of Days, but I don’t think you can call it capricious and arbitrary to vote for you at this point for lack of participation. In fact your response and defensiveness made me go back and look at your posts. Despite admitting that you are reading along, you have had only one substantive post since Day 1 and that was to urge us to be extra careful about listening to the Barn message and lynching Stanislaus. You have also not made a vote in at least two Days, and best I can tell, no vote at all since Day 1. At some point being a lurker god from being unhelpful to being detrimental to Town. We have virtually no record of posts OR votes with which to evaluate you. No way of determining of you might be Scum other than lynching you. So after doing a (very brief) review of your limited posts I tend to agree with Diggit.

USCDiver… you are voting him for “protecting known scum” Wasn’t everyone jumping on my back (you included) FOR believing the barn post? Stan is only “known scum” now…So anyone protecting/not protection him, how are we to know whether they had the knowledge of whether they were “known” or not.

To me that looks like a slip that you and Orthohedron both knew (because you both are on the same team) that Stan was a wolf/Scum, and that’s how you can point the finger at him that he was “protecting Known scum”
