Mafia - Game in progress [Edited title]

Let’s start small then.

What are your thoughts on USCDiver?

Yeah, Meeko. Come on out and play. You were right about me, so now’s your moment to bask in being right. Sure, you were arguably right for some of the wrong reasons, and you wanted to toss out the cop’s barn post, but hey, that’s the game.

** I hope everything is all right - Story- **

concerned

Sending out all of our good vibes.

Multiplied by -------------- a really large number of clever sayings that I can’t think of right now

Yes, best wishes to you and yours, story.

i have problems voting for someone who i think is town. now i get the argument. however, there isn’t a guarantee that lynching him stops the demon.

i am up to speed. i wanted to know why USCDiver’s lack of an escape plan should be a consideration for voting him.

did i miss something? i know story’s wife is due to give birth soon. were there complications?

whatever the case may be, i wish story and family the best.

to further discuss USCDiver’s situation, i’m iffy about lynching him because that may not stop the demon. perhaps it is the safe thing to do but it may not be the best thing to do.

perhaps i’m going meta here but i know that **story **is both an experienced player and mod. i find it hard to believe that he would design a game that would have an SK, in this case the demon, win by just finding the one possessing the book. we would just wake up one Day and the game was over.

on the other hand i also find it hard to believe that the demon would lose if the possessor of the book was killed before the demon found him/her.

this makes me believe there’s more to this than meets the eye. a couple of possibilities are:

  1. the demon can win by finding the possessor of the book but isn’t PFK.

  2. USCDiver is the demon and he made up the story of the book to save himself.

*PFK : playing for keeps - a role whose wincon prevents everybody else from winning.

Hope all is well, StoryMan.

I’m mildly concerned as well, but hoping that the delay is because Baby Story decided that last night was his/her night to arrive  Two weeks early isn’t all that early. Sending you good thoughts and vibes Story.

All - thanks for the well wishes. We’re OK. There are some complications, but they seem minor and manageable and everyone is in good spirits. The baby is quite large, as babies that are two weeks from their expected due date go, and if he doesn’t decide to grace us with his presence on his own in the very near future he may have to be gently encouraged to do so.

So things are kind of up in the air at the moment. In any case, I’m here now. I have almost no time, so a color-free Dusk is unfortunately necessary. My apologies to USCDiver, because I had an epic death scene planned. Maybe I’ll find a way to get it in the game eventually anyway.

Dusk in about ten minutes.

Dusk, Day Five

INT – The Tavern. Two extras sit near the fire, eating something that might be chicken.

EXTRA 1
Wow, that was just a crazy dusk!

EXTRA 2
With the fire!

EXTRA 1
And the screaming!

EXTRA 2
And the howler monkeys!

EXTRA 1
I couldn’t believe that one guy said that one thing!

EXTRA 2
And as it turns out, USCDiver was lying – he used to be a simple peasant, but too much exposure to the Necronomicon, legendary book of the dead, caused him to make an unholy deal with a Demon. And the zombies that have been wandering around Town were part of the powers granted to him by the Book. But now that Diver is dead, the Book has vanished, and the zombies were consumed by the flames and subsequently by the howler monkeys!

EXTRA 1
Wow, that was a totally organic and not at all forced way of getting the information out to anyone who might be listening!

They both turn and look meaningfully at the camera; fade to black.

USCDiver, a Peasant Redshirt, though by no means a simple one, has been lynched. He was a third-party player.

Askthepizzaguy, orthohedron, and choie are now permanently removed from the game.

The Necronomicon has vanished.

And Night Five begins here. If it’s OK, I’d like to end it tomorrow at 2:00PM, unless there are further baby-related delays. In order to help avoid this, everyone with night actions please copy MHaye on all action-related PMs; if I am unavailable this will allow him to end the Night appropriately and on time if I cannot.

Thanks for your patience, and sorry for the delay!

Excellente! And, USCDiver, I know this is rubbing it in, but next time? Even if it’s true: don’t print out a PM which practically forces us to lynch you

:cool::D:p

Best wishes!

My baby girl wasn’t as large but decided she wanted to come out anyway… about 2 weeks ahead of my wife’s planned schedule. My wife wasn’t extactic (she wanted a natural birth and had to have a c-section) but you forget all that when you hold your kid in your arms.

Best wishes (again)!

Our son was 10.5 pounds, and 2 weeks late…and due to his size they wound up needing to do a c-section…but everything turned out just fine, and almost 15 years later we haven’t had to kill him yet (though we did have a few tense moments last semester).

Best wishes to all the storytellers!

Nothing?

Oh well, good game everyone. I didn’t consider that aspect of my role claim at the time. Either way I was pretty proud of coming up with something feasible!

Ten-and-a-half pounds? Like, Earth pounds? I don’t think I’ll share that with my wife; she’s a little nervous about eight.

My brother was nearly ten pounds when he was born; they did a C-section there, too.

Glad to hear that everything’s alright. We’re both pushing 40 and neither of us has any signs of ticking biological clocks, so I don’t have any assuaging anecdotes other than my own birth. I was 9 lbs 8 oz and delivered just fine the old fashioned way. On my due date, I might add.

And what’s this? No love for your local lycanthropic catalyst of information? Tough crowd… :frowning:

He had some breathing difficulties very early on, so they decided to put him in the NICU for a while just to make sure everything was OK…it was almost comical looking in there and seeing all of these tiny preemie babies, and then our GIANT KID; but it made it really easy to pick him out
