Mafia - Game in progress [Edited title]

My point was if we lose 7 townies in the next two cycles ARE there 7 town players left? Are we at LYLO if we lynch wrong today. The SK/Vig can take out USC also.

And what if the Demon is the SK? And if (s)he by taking out USC, wins? We don’t actually know what would happen in that scenario.

Also: let’s suppose someone is actually the Doctor and has kind-of been exposed. You might propose that (s)he protect USC from harm during the Night. Don’t you think the Wolf’s (sic) will use the opportunity to blast him/her into oblivion?

I asked storyteller “Now that **choie **and **orthohedron **have been raised from the dead, do I have the ability to destroy them as well?”

His reply was “yes.”

So, that’s that. I’m not sure what to do with this information quite yet…

Dizzy,

We can play “what if” games all Day long, but I don’t see how that’s going to help us.

What if we try to lynch Cookies Today, but she’s protected, then we have ‘carnage’ Tonight, and the Demon steals the Book from USCDiver and wreaks havoc on us Tomorrow?

It’s a scenario that is equally likely as the one you posit, isn’t it?

I must admit that USCDiver’s claimed role does sound plausible…but that doesn’t make it true. And it’s easy to spot a couple different places in his PM where a quick bit of editing could have been made to drastically alter the tone.
And my PM from storyteller seemed to make it pretty clear that Diver was a bad guy, and that’s what I’m basing my vote on.
And as far as **USCDiver’s **‘plan’, this seems to sum it up:

It just doesn’t sound like a very good plan to me. Since the Demon’s presence wasn’t made public knowledge, how were we supposed to find him? Blind luck?

I reviewed **USCDiver’s **posts Today, after my Barn message which was the first public mention of the Demon, and before my claim. He only posted twice; once to throw suspicion on me (after I had voted for him)

and once to vote for Cookies after her confession. If his grand plan was for us to stumble upon the Demon in the dark and kill him, why didn’t he at least acknowledge the Demon’s presence? He knew that the Barn post was genuine, because he knew about the Demon, but most of the Town seemed quite ready to dismiss it as a fabrication. It seems to me that if people didn’t believe the message, then they weren’t likely to spend a lot of time trying to hunt down the Demon…so how exactly was Diver’s plan supposed to work?

Perhaps you should stop by more often…

** charlie ** it sounds like you are not up to speed on the dilemma of “the Book” ?
I realize that my posts often sound like nonsense to you but others have discussed it as well
** can we have a vote count?- when you have time –of course **

Right, and now the new plan is supposed to be hoping that either USCDiver can’t be targeted tonight, or that the Demon is nightkilled even though clearly nobody knows who he is or he’d be dead already. I can’t believe that anyone with a nightkill ability would be targeting redshirts over a demon.

Let me ask **USCDiver **a direct question:

USCDiver - which of these scenarios, based on what you’ve told us, seems more likely?

  1. If you the demon visits you tonight, he will get the book.
  2. If you are lynched tonight, the book goes into random hands in the same way it would have if you’d given it up voluntarily.
  3. If you are lynched tonight, the book automatically goes to the demon.
  4. If you are not lynched tonight, the demon will be nightkilled.

From my point of view, #1 and #2 are clearly more likely than #3 and #4, but I’m willing to hear from you why you think the latter two have a better chance of happening.

ETA: I also think there’s plenty of reason to believe (or at least not to discount) that the demon and the SK are the same role.

I think I know what you mean here- but could/would you retype it please?

Yes.

Just let me write it out.

Which bit? I’m not really making any new arguments so much as I’m just trying to get USCDiver to justify himself.

To sum up my current position, I believe:

USCDiver’s alignment was changed by the book and he is attempting to survive until tonight so that the demon can find him. His “soft claim” was more than enough to confirm Suburban’s accusation and alert the demon to come find him.

I suspect:

“The Demon” may be the flavor name for the Serial Killer.

  1. If you [** there’s a bit missing here **] the demon visits you tonight, he will get the book.
  2. If you are lynched tonight[,** you mean toDay? **] the book goes into random hands in the same way it would have if you’d given it up voluntarily.
  3. If you are lynched tonight*, the book automatically goes to the demon.
  4. If you are not lynched tonight, the demon will be nightkilled.

I don’t disagree just wanted it clear?

Oh yeah, geez. I had the demon night-visit on my brain. I mean “lynched today,” yes.

And #1 should just read “If the demon visits you tonight.”

This vote count comes with the usual disclaimers on the compiler’s fallibility, so please draw my attention to errors.

There are a little under six hours to go to the current Dusk deadline.

Just to put a bit more separation between the top vote-getters.

I don’t have a Grand Plan now. My plan was to remain hidden as long as possible. Once that was no longer feasible then I came forward so that Town would have all the information that I do.

Lightfoot, I’m not sure how to answer your question. As for #1, I’m not even sure that the Demon himself can acquire the book by tsrgeting me or if it is something zombie related and random. As for #4, I think that’s unlikely because I don’t think enough people are going to change their minds about my lynch in the next two hours. I guess if I had to choose, I’d say #2 is most likely of those choices but that doesn’t mean I think it will definitely happen.

Those weren’t my questions
bottom line you have the Book
everyone now knows you have the Book
if you are lynched no-one ( in theory) will know where the Book is

it’s our safest choice

Um, what wasn’t your questions? You asked me which of four choices I thought was more[sic] likely. I clearly answered that.

Yeah - they were mine. Lightfoot was just asking me to clarify a mistake.

I think it’s a matter of you guys hit the ground running, and I didn’t. Not too sure I can make up the difference.
