Why would we risk the chance of the Book being in the hands of an unknown, possibly Non-Town player? We can lynch our known scum Today and Suburban can kill a Zombie Tonight. I think that’s our best option. Killing a Townie and leaving a claimed Scum just doesn’t seem right for some reason!

Well, if Suburban hadn’t found my apparent Demon stench I might have remained hidden long enough for us to Lynch or Nightkill the Demon.

It’s been made abundantly clear that the Zombies can’t do anything. If anyone is searching for the Book, it’s either the Demon or one of his followers, not one of the Zombies.

I don’t know what happens to the Book if I am lynched. It may fall into the hands of another Random player (possibly Scum) and the zombies just continue on their merry way. I would guess that is why Suburban has been given the ability to kill of Zombies; to prevent the Demon from ever getting the Book.

Just to clarify, at this point I do not have the ability to kill off “Zombies”. I have the ability to kill off **Askthepizzaguy **only. If I am also able to kill off choie and orthohedron, I have not been so informed. However, since **storyteller **has admitted to being just a wee bit preoccupied, it is possible that he forgot to inform me; I’ll PM him to ask.

I don’t think I’m saying that at all. I didn’t claim fully at first because I thought we had a clear lynch candidate and I could remain hidden one more Night. I figured after we Lynched Cookies I’d be back at the front of the list Tomorrow and could fully claim then. This would have given the Night killing folks one more shot at getting the Demon. Presuming that having the Book furthers his Wincon I thought this was worth a try.

I’m not saying it’s not a Big Deal I’m just saying I don’t know what happens to the Book when I die. If you guys think that lynching me will cause the Book to pass to another Random player then I can’t argue with that reasoning, but I’m maybe I’m not quite seeing where you guys are coming up with that mechanic.

Diggit says our only hope is that the Book falls into Random hands and remains hidden, but I propose that a better hope is to have Suburban kill Pizza and hope our Night Killers can find the Demon. We know both of those mechanics work!

Hell if I know. Maybe the Game is over or maybe the Demon gains new powers from the Book but has some additional aspects to his Wincon that take a night or two to fulfill. Either way, lynching me does not negate the fact that we still have to kill the Demon one way or the other.

It’s possible that **Cookies **has some immunity to the lynch, or that the Wolves have some other method by which her lynch Today would be blocked, redirected, etc. But I don’t see what would stop us from killing her Tomorrow (or Tonight if we have a Vig still), so I don’t know that this makes sense…

Or it could be that **Cookies **is a ‘Vanilla’ Wolf and since she was starting to pick up votes they decided to sacrifice her in order to get our help to kill the Serial Killer, since they can’t do that themselves. But if this is the case, I don’t know why Cookies didn’t come out and say “Player X is the Serial Killer, please deal with them for us”…except, of course, that we wouldn’t believe her anyway…

Or maybe we just don’t know for sure who the SK is yet.

Well, that’s my main concern:

you live, you keep the Book, you get killed toNight by the Demon and/or minions, we lose.

The flip side would be:

you die, the Book is no longer in your hands (hopefully it goes away), nobody knows where it goes, we get to live another Day.

Well, I understand the reasoning, but as a Townie (and particularly one with a semi-power role) I still feel that it’s my obligation to try to live as long as possible. Particularly when we have a definite Scum to lynch. I might be whistling a different tune if we were grasping at straws with who to lynch Today.

And since it can well be assumed that all eyes are going to be on USC this Night

Any protection will be seen- more roles outed- and the demon may not even be one of them (if they stay in to avoid the watch fest)

Ok fine, let’s mix it up.

Some things y’all may want to know to help deal with everyone’s growing 3rd party problems:

-Meeko is, or at least was at one point, vanilla Town
-Dizzy was blocked on Night 3, a Night on which I will point out that there were 2 kills and not 3
-We had nothing to do with Suburban’s alleged note or attack
-Good luck with LightFoot

Consider those as a bonus batch of Barn posts for hopefully mutual benefit.

I had a nice long run considering Skeezix apparently forced my hand on a perfectly good long-con bus vote on Stan that was intended to age slowly like fine WIFOM.

So, originally I decided to post this once I got home today because participation had slacked off quite a bit, and we were well more than halfway through the Day with no clear sense of direction.

Since then, the pace has picked up just a bit. But I’ve decided to go ahead with this anyway, because we seem to suddenly have a bunch of pieces on the table, and I have at least one more in my pocket.

I am The Demon Hunter.

At dawn of Day 2 I received the now-infamous “mysterious PM”, which I relayed to the Town:

All remained a mystery to me until Dawn of Day 4, when I received another PM from story:
Here, first of all, is the key to what happened on Night 1. Someone tried to kill me, and my one-time immunity…which I wasn’t aware of at the time…kicked in to save me.
Now let’s fast-forward to last Night. I had two options: I could permanently destroy Pizza, or I could try to catch someone cavorting with Demons. I decided on the latter option. As I said in my PM to story:

Why did I decide to investigate USCDiver? I was looking for someone who seemed ‘Townie’ for the first 3 Days of the game, and not so much on Day 4. And as I said when I voted for him, I didn’t like Diver’s “I don’t care who dies as long as it isn’t me” vote yesterDay.

Andfor once my instincts were correct:
As far as the Barn message goes, I tried to be as clear as possible within the 10-word restriction. Someone turned from Town to Third Party (possibly USCDiver, possibly LightFoot, or Dizzy, or someone else, since I’m pretty sure we had a Third Party at the beginning of the game to reanimate Pizza). And **Askthepizzaguy **is “involved”. Not “responsible”, but “involved”. I have no further information along those lines.

I was rather hoping that a discussion might ensue along the lines of “what should we do with **Pizza **now?”…but I guess it didn’t occur to anyone else that he can be ‘eliminated’. I’m still not sure if that’s the proper course of action or not. Part of me thinks: I’m a ‘Demon Hunter’, not a ‘Zombie Killer’, so it’s probably not ‘my job’ to deal with the Undead. But that presupposed that it’s 'Someone Else’s job…and until Someone Else steps forward to claim responsibility, I guess it falls on me if it needs to be done.

So…that’s what’s up with me…anyone else want to share?

Moderatorial Mea Culpa

Management wishes to apologize to all players for the following reasons:

1. The “dead players who can still participate” thing was never intended to cause this much frustration. The undead being chatty is part of the Evil Dead vibe, and I thought it would be fun to reproduce that in some way in the mechanics for this game… plus I thought it would be enjoyable for some players, especially those killed early, to have a chance to stay part of the game. Based on the reactions, this would appear to have been a miscalculation. Please be assured that this part of a fairly straightforward in-game mechanic, and that it’s well controlled. I had assumed that once pizzguy returned, that other players would figure there was a chance they would do the same… I should have been more clear and I apologize one more time for the confusion it’s caused.

2. More importantly, I have been a bit of an absentee moderator lately. My wife is pregnant, and due in two weeks. The last stages of her pregnancy have been more challenging than we’d anticipated, and my free time has been occupied more than I’d thought it would be. For that reason, I apologize if I am slow to respond to PMs and vote count requests.

Like I said: the point is moot, by now. USCDiver’s claim seems right to me. Unfortunately, for that very same reason, he needs to be lynched…

It isn’t so strange when you consider the Town and Wolf’s common enemy. There’s been a sea of blue flips, one red flip, and no purple flips, and the wolfpack can’t kill at least one of the purples. It is a calculated risk. Not calculated for very long, but calculated. Town and Wolves are both running out of time.

I’m worried about USCDiver, but I’m also worried about Cookies. What if Scum have a night power to protect her tomorrow. I’m worried we’re going to have a carnage tonight, and then a failed lynch tomorrow, followed by a carnage the next night. We’ll loose up to 7 players, and the Wolves will still be in tact.

Yes, that’s a really valid concern.

Do you consider that a MORE valid concern than the possibility of USCDiver getting found by the demons tonight and the book falling into their hands?

But the fact is, attempting to out Lightfoot as the Doc isn’t a town move. It’s the move of scum (or 3rd party) trying to give away information on their way out the door.

I think USCDiver very much wants to be found tonight.

Cookies is scum, and Cookies is going to die. Hopefully at the hands of the town vig (or even the SK, really) tonight. We don’t gain anything by lynching her today that we don’t gain by her dying tonight. If we have to lynch her tomorrow, that’s a bit of a setback, but it’s better than USCDiver giving up the book to the Demon/zombies.
