Mafia - Game in progress [Edited title]

I’m concerned that the current “revelations” are actually some kind of pre-arranged scenario by our furry friends…

Like, for instance, they’d prefer we do not lynch **Cookies **toDay for some reason and thus lead us to lynch **USCDiver **first… Like I said: Suburban’s role PM seems edited to me.

We all (well, most of us) have good reason to get some 3rd parties good and dead, and our chances of doing that can only get better with more information getting onto the table. That is the primary reason for my claim. Rather than continue to horde the scum’s intel while trying to bob and weave around suspicions that would only be growing thicker with time. It was a very quickly made gut call on my part, but that was the motivation behind it.

Neither Diver nor Suburban are wolves, and Town should be looking at them quite carefully while at least entertaining the possibility that I am not lying about that.

/oog/ Story as a fairly new mom for the second time, I completely understand where you are at right now. Congrats, and I wish a quick, healthy, easy labor vibes for your DW and Dear Newborn.

I like that you folks didn’t make runaway irreversible wagons on candidates. Kudos to the town for playing smart.

How long until round end?

24.5 hours.

Would you mind publishing your PM? For comparison purposes, I mean.

Definitely prefer a Diver lynch Today.

I already rolled over and gave y’all lots of goodies, but I suppose one more can’t hurt.

WIN CONDITION:
You are Scum. You win when the number of Scum players is greater than or equal to the total number of living non-Scum players, if and only if no third party win condition triggers before or simultaneously with yours.

OK, fair enough. I’ll go ahead and fully claim but in the end I think you will see why I thought it was a good idea to keep things at least a little under wraps.

I breadcrumbed this information. Please go back and look at the first letter of my posts from #126-#202. They spell out NECRONOMICON.

At Dawn on Day 2 I got the following:

I didn’t get any additional information until Dawn of Day 4 when I got this message:

So my interpretation based on this and **Suburban’s **information is that someone has turned into a Demon and is searching for The Book. Presumably they will gain powers above and beyond resurrecting Zombies once they have it. Now that they know where The Book is, I assume it is only a matter of time (like Tonight) before they come to my house searching for it.

You can also see why I thought I may have been a “Third Party Miller”.

Why did you want to wait to do a full claim? What’s the benefit of waiting 'till tomorrow?

Because now the Demon knows where the Book is.

ETA and I was hoping someone would kill his ass Tonight and I could claim without jeopardizing the Town Tomorrow.

Except that we don’t know who the demon is, so the odds of nightkilling him are pretty low.

Here’s the real question: if we lynch you, do we prevent the book from falling into 3rd party hands?

This does not make any sense to me. If the wolves did not want us to lynch Cookies toDay, why did Cookies claim?

ok, I fully support a lynch of USCDiver now.

unvote Cookies

vote USCDiver

Why? Because: if his PM is correct, he has the Book (which if I recall the Evil Dead stories is a VERY IMPORTANT McGUFFIN).

The Demon is very likely looking for it as part (if not his whole) win condition.

USCDiver can’t give it up now, so by toNight the Demon will have the book. I think our only hope is that, by dying, the Book flies away into someone else’s hands (and not the Demon’s).

It’s possible that **Cookies **has some immunity to the lynch, or that the Wolves have some other method by which her lynch Today would be blocked, redirected, etc. But I don’t see what would stop us from killing her Tomorrow (or Tonight if we have a Vig still), so I don’t know that this makes sense…

Or it could be that **Cookies **is a ‘Vanilla’ Wolf and since she was starting to pick up votes they decided to sacrifice her in order to get our help to kill the Serial Killer, since they can’t do that themselves. But if this is the case, I don’t know why Cookies didn’t come out and say “Player X is the Serial Killer, please deal with them for us”…except, of course, that we wouldn’t believe her anyway…

Maybe that’s the start signal for their plan?

  1. Cookies’ sees herself in real danger of being lynched
  2. She claims
  3. It triggers convoluted plan by wolves

Like I said: the point is moot, by now. USCDiver’s claim seems right to me. Unfortunately, for that very same reason, he needs to be lynched…

I can’t find a flaw with this reasoning.

That’s not to say that everything will be hunky-dory if we lynch **USCDiver **Today, but I’m not sure we have another course of action.

And that’s assuming that Diver is telling the truth about his Role and the Book, of course. But if he’s lying, then he’s still a good lynch because he’s no longer Town.

Well, if Suburban hadn’t found my apparent Demon stench I might have remained hidden long enough for us to Lynch or Nightkill the Demon.

It’s possible that the zombies have to stumble into my House at random in order for the Demon to get the Book. That seems to jive with the Day 2 PM I got. Maybe the Demon is not able to acquire the Book himself.

I don’t know what happens to the Book if I am lynched. It may fall into the hands of another Random player (possibly Scum) and the zombies just continue on their merry way. I would guess that is why Suburban has been given the ability to kill of Zombies; to prevent the Demon from ever getting the Book.

Why would we risk the chance of the Book being in the hands of an unknown, possibly Non-Town player? We can lynch our known scum Today and Suburban can kill a Zombie Tonight. I think that’s our best option. Killing a Townie and leaving a claimed Scum just doesn’t seem right for some reason!
