I begin to suspect you and Normal are on the same side, anyway, so it’s even more frustrating watching you guys go at each other hammer and tongs.
Astral, I did try to follow up on your suspicions of Normal, but they didn’t go anywhere because I don’t have much influence over others the way some other players do. I’m not very good at articulating things in Mafia and I think people see my votes as based not in logic, but on instinct. Which is a fair assessment, I must admit.
Anyway, as it turns out, I now think Normal is townie, for a reason that I’m kind of surprised no one else has picked up. Either a) I’m totally off-base (quite possible), or b) the people who already know about it are scum and thus are being very careful not to mention it.
Since I’d kinda like to live, I’m saying no more for now. If I’m still around by the end of the next Day, I’ll be able to share my theory. However, I’ll tell one person about it, and that’ll be my classic mystery “I’m putting these documents in a letter that, if I die, will be sent to all the newspapers” safety net.

I think a lot of us think Normal Phase is town. There’s just that lingering suspicion about her, as I’ve mentioned. You can never be sure until you see how someone flips

I’ve responded to quite a few people who had things to say to (or about) me. And I have not responded to quite a few as well. Basically, if anything has something ‘new’ to say, I’ve tried to respond. But there’s no rule that says you need to answer every time your name is mentioned.

I’m not sure if this is the safest thing to do. By saying you notice something at Night without saying what it is, you may have just painted a huge target on your back. By only telling 1 person, you make it difficult for the others to corroborate.
A single player in a Mafia game doesn’t quite hold the same level of “unimpeachable trust” that a newspaper does.
You may want to consider telling more than one. That way, the people in whom you confide will be able to corroborate the information, if it needs to be revealed later.

The fact that the Triple Votes were placed during the Day on Day 2 (first on Guiri, then on Astral) would imply that the votes *should *appear as they are placed. Also, the fact that nobody ended Day 2 with the triple-vote on them suggests they are not mandatory.
As far as the End of Day yesterDay, I don’t think there’s any great mystery. the vote stood at **MHaye **5, Silver Jan 3 at Dusk, so presumably whoever is behind the triple-votes decided MHaye was a better target than Silver Jan, and decided that it was worth their while for us to know that (else they could have just not voted at all).

Good point, and fair enough. I’d likely tell three people; a threesome is harder to disprove. And for all the drama here, I could so easily be wrong and it’s a coincidence. I hope not but God knows I’ve been wrong before.
I don’t think you should use that particular quote from Silver Jan as a clue, as she wasn’t really herself that day. I think she was certain she was going to be lynched and was generally in a bad state.
That said, I don’t think yours is an unnatural question to ask. She did seem to be saying “you’ll be so, so sorry when I’m gone!” (to quote Jesus Christ Superstar) and kind of invited the speculation.
But, that also said, I wouldn’t expect an answer, and I certainly wouldn’t advise Silver Jan to give you one.
That’s putting a remarkably (and oddly) benign spin on the triple voter. Most of us – I hate to speak for the majority but what the heck, I’ll give it a try – are of the opinion that The Triple Voter is scum, or aligned with dark forces (e.g. the Traitor). Here you just make it sound like some well-meaning Townie simply thinks MHaye is more scummy than Silver Jan. I don’t think this is a likely scenario, considering we already have two double-voters, one of whom I believe is Town.
But I do agree that votes are usually done in “real time,” since we’ve seen them occur in the middle of a Day phase before. It’s hard to judge this for this past Day, considering pizzaguy was absent and incommunicado; so for all we know, the Triple Voter placed his/her/its vote earlier in the Day but pizzaguy never got around to posting it until he was able to upon his return.
I didn’t mean to come across as thinking the triple-voter is in any way benign. I am working under the assumption that he or they (I lean toward “they”) are very much anti-Town. I don’t think it was a case of anyone thinking **MHaye **was Scummier than Silver Jan; I think it was a case of the triple-voters thinking MHaye was ‘more dangerous’ to them than Silver Jan.
The way I see it, they had three options at the end of the Day:
vote for Silver Jan, in which case she would be lynched
vote for MHaye, in which case he would be lynched
vote for anyone else, in which case MHaye would still be lynched, based on the tiebreaker
don’t vote at all, in which case MHaye would still be lynched.
So it basically looks to me like a case of “MHaye or Silver Jan”? And I think that for reasons known only to them, they would rather see MHaye out of the game yesterDay.
I think, though it’s only a gut feeling, that perhaps it might be significant that they voted at all, since an abstention would have served the same purpose. Unfortunately I have no idea how it would be significant.
Well, since SilverJan does have a track record for getting Lynched as Town. Scum would/could have assumed that it woud happen sooner than later and taken MHaye out now.
and yes, abstention ( if an option- maybe they * have a finite number of that option. Or a time line restriction for it?) may have been a better go- IF SilverJan IS Town.

In the meantime, I noticed something disappointing about the MHaye lynch, something that hadn’t really registered with me before.
MHaye, our top lynch choice, had only four people voting for him. Out of 25.
2 of those people I have a town lean on, 1 I know for sure is town (me!), and plenty of folks have a town read on Silver Jan. So, let’s for the sake of this particular argument call us all town.
4 townies decided the lynch. Scum don’t even need to sway the vote with these kinds of voting patterns.

Yeah, the voting has been really pathetic, as has participation. I was looking at the “still alive” list and yet again I’d found people there I’d totally forgotten were in the game. PetW? NAF? RealityTrip? Even Scathach, whom other people have a scum lean on… I swear I wouldn’t be able to tell you a single vote Scathach made or thing Scathach said in this entire game if I didn’t have your (Astral’s) list to remind me. Which is why it surprises me that people have any kind of lean on Scathach. It’s like leaning on a cloud.
Anyway, to answer your question, Astral, I think my second choice is probably pretty obvious: Visorslash. If I’m being completely honest with myself, I know about 25% of that is due to my dislike for his style, so I’ll give you a third place option: Gadarene, and again, that’s probably due to he’s so outrageously outraged and “How dare you sir! Prepare for your cheek to see the back of my glove!” at being considered possibly not Town that I frankly want him to be scum. Not the best rationale but hell, there’ve been worse votes.
In fact, why was your only other vote for gnarlycharlie if Gadarene and BobArrgh are your number two choices?
