So if someone participates minimally, and then comes back and makes a good faith effort to get involved by discussing the strategy used so far - and by disagreeing with that strategy - your solution is to reply, “fuck you, you haven’t been around much, so you don’t get an opinion?” Yeah, that’ll encourage people who’ve fallen behind to make the effort to catch up.
Asshole thing to say. If you want to be that way, just own it. Visorslash does, and he comes across as much less of a jerk, frankly. But don’t be a jerk and pretend you’re not; it’s lame.

That’s not what I said and you know it. You come back after not participating and spends multiple paragraphs telling us why we’re playing badly and in fact aren’t even playing the game much at all. I say “That’s pretty rich coming from someone with 28 posts.” And you translate that into “Fuck you, your opinion doesn’t matter” and call me an “asshole” and a “jerk”?
People who’ve fallen behind and make an effort to catch up are awesome.
People who’ve fallen behind (which is a very mild description of someone who’s made 28 posts in six weeks) and makes their grand re-entrance with “Look at all the mistakes you guys are making! And also you’re not playing enough!” deserve a cynically raised eyebrow, which is all that “That’s rich coming from you” is.
I can’t even believe you’re making this bit a deal out of this. Are you under the impression “That’s rich” is Cockney rhyming slang or something?
By all means, continue sniping at each other. That’s useful.
Although frankly, I don’t see what exactly is pissing choie off so much here. There are quite a few players who only make 2 or 3 posts a Day and are quite good at mafia. Story usually posts more than that, true. But the fact that someone has only posted 28 or so times in a thread is not, by itself evidence of whether they’re playing mafia or not. And, in point of fact, his posting level has no bearing on the truth of his statement. It’s not like if he had 50 more posts, his statement would be truer.
I’m not running for anything, and I approve of this comment.
I’m sorry for my tone. It wasn’t appropriate but I would really like people to disagree with each other without swearing or intimating that the other person is of base character.

:smack: Yes that does make more sense. But still, he explicitly says “you”, not “one of you” or “you and your scumbuddies”, to the point that he wants to see me “pay for it”. Now, I know I’m arguing semantics here but it still reads oddly to me.
Incidentally, since you also think I’m scummy, what is it that he’s “dead on right” about? Because to me his case seems to be entirely predicated on that I haven’t been participating as much as other people. Which, I grant, is true; but still, it’s hardly the conclusive evidence that it’s being made out to be.
It looks as if this game is getting to everyone, it’s getting a bit too personal in here, I include myself in there because I was also unforgivably rude 
@ Scathach, I suspect you were behind my death, I have not accused you of being the sole author. You’re my strongest scum lean right now so will continue to pursue you until either you are cop-cleared or you die. If we’re both here in the morning, I’ll explain my case again but given your assertion that I’ve not been participating and I’m obsessed with you, it should’t take too long to go back and find it. It does seem that way, and I’m as guilty as anyone. To make excuse I may as well synopsize my role PM:
I am a Pretentious Prig. I win if Town wins but, as an alternate win condition, also win if any player (except myself) gets BARRED from SDMB during the game. I started the game as Obnoxious Blowhard and had to accept a change in Moral Alignment from Good to Self-Righteous in order to promote to Prig. My role can continue to promote along this path, but only if I do lose my temper again. So watch out.
And here was me thinking you were the object of gnarliecharly’s affection.
You certainly seemed quite concerned with how he was viewed by others.

And about the mass claim, I wasn’t asking specifically about yesterDay’s attack but wanted to know if anyone else thought a mass claim of actions throughout the game might help in identifying scum. I know Pizza doesn’t like games that can be “solved” by brute force but if every remaining player is asked to outline their Day/Night actions and motivations, we just might get a step closer to finding scum, possibly by deduction or possibly by exclusion, I really don’t know but looking at the Night kills and the remaining players, my list of suspects is quite short.
