Holy crap, Normal was badass. But all that and Phere sustained no damage?! It sure sounded as if she gave him some powerful blows.
(Yipe, reading that back… that didn’t quite come out as intended!)
Speaking of badass, go Glee! (I still have no idea what a “helm” is. How is it different from a helmet?) Anyway we don’t have many folks who’ve survived an encounter with the Big Guy, so that’s pretty sweet. And for yet another survivor, how the heck many hp does Scathach have? Talk about the Energizer bunny.
And Visorslash… Well, I can’t say I’m surprised, or even saddened, since he was up to no good. But he must’ve been a 3rd party baddie, since Phere took him out. That part does surprise me.
I’m not even sure what happened to Suburban. Am I correct and he should’ve died during the Day but there was a miscalculation?
But where we lost Suburban we regained Gadarene. I told him it’d better to be alive than dead. Welcome back to the fight, Gad.
Finally, thanks for the healing potion y’all. Shame about the longsword; I really would like one offensive item. But at least it was put to good use and bought Normal some time to bring some pain to Phere, even if it doesn’t appear to have been significant enough to have much effect on the bastard.
Also, Visorslash is noted as “Evil” not “very Evil” like Weedy was. Not sure what that means in terms of the game, but the “a friend to no one but himself” doesn’t make him look like scum anyway.
Doesn’t have to mean a bad endgame, does it? Maybe we’re doing better than we think. Or is that pathetically optimistic of me?
I do notice that while Visorslash was apparently scum, his “Knight” role was colored blue. I’m beginning to wonder if the font colors are as indicative of alignment as we’ve been thinking.
I also see that we’ve sustained no more Wrath of Demon losses, which is good – ISTR that askthepizzaguy said he’d be leaving it up to us to decide on how to deal with non-participants. Well, fubbles has been noticeable by his absence, and I’m now mistrusting all 3rd party folks – I think they might have a coalition of some kind. Notice that like Visorslash’s own objective (finding an object of power), fubbles seems to have a role that manages to encourage people to bring their items to him for “appraisal.” I’ve never trusted that type of motive, and with Visorslash making it clear there’s something out there that Evil folks are looking for, this makes me all the more worried about whatever-it-is falling into the wrong hands.
So vote fubbleskag unless someone knows more about him than I do (admittedly, not difficult).
But I can see Guiri’s point on Scathach – at least a vote doesn’t rely on hp, of which apparently Scathach seems to have a freakin’ unlimited supply.
pizzaguy, can I use some of my healing potion on someone else, or is it an all-or-nothing deal? I’d like to heal Guiri if he needs it.
New chart coming when I get home. I believe, with the number of dead we have, that the game might be partially solvable. We have an awful lot of info about those early lynches now.
I’m also going to color myself blue, because I’m tired of not considering myself “town” when looking at my own chart. If you don’t trust me, just mentally uncolor me or something.
At the risk of sounding like “scum gloating,” I want to go on record and say I feel like this has been my worst game ever. Congrats to the scum team, whomever you are, for a game well played. I currently have no idea who you are. Once I get an idea, I hope to kill you until you’re dead (as I would expect no less from you guys to me!)
for Guiri
For your records
N2 Watched ToJam saw nothing
D2 I used one of my items on believerer- no effect
N3 watched Normal saw Charlie
D4 I attacked believerer
N4 watched Gad saw Charlie
N5 watched fubbles saw nothing
My attack on Believerer was a shot over the bow for a non participating player ( and I needed to change an alignment to change my character so figured that was a safe target.)
That’s exactly it. Our Host made a miscalculation and failed to note that I had been reduced to negative HP after the last Day phase. The error was noticed during the Night, and corrected the error this Morning.
I had thought to do some sort of Python-esque “I’m not quite dead” post after it was revealed, but apparently somebody else thought of that already…
This is also something I’ll do when I get home. I’ll provide a full list of my actions each night.
Since we’re at end game according to Pizza, a full claim by everyone might not be out of the question. I’d like to nominate Guiri for picking the order in which we claim, since (due to his resurrection) I trust him the most at this point.
There are probably many clues in the write-ups that we’ve all overlooked. For now, I’ll just comment that we’ve been deceived by “white glow.”
The last sentence in this excerpt makes clear, I think, that it is Scum who are about to defeat Town, not vice versa.
But why is that? We’ve not done so badly with three of our fallen Townsmen (Astral, guiri, and now Gadarene) resurrected with white glow.
But this is the same “white glow” that killed Normal Phase.
To me, the clues point to the theme that the new incarnations of Astral, guiri and Gadarene are Scum recruits. We should spend a Lynch to confirm this theory:
Vote: Astral Rejection
I pick Astral because his claim (that he ws offered Neutral moral alignment without change to win-con) contradicts all the other information we’ve had but would be expected from someone whose win-condition had already changed at the time of his resurrection.
So we’re all three resurrected as scum, but only I wasn’t offered a chance to switch, because of the three of us resurrected as scum, only I was resurrected with the scum win condition?
“White glow” just refers to using light as power. It’s usually been related to healing and reviving, but sometimes is seen in attacks as well. But Phere has also used Shadow (see his attack on Glee) and a bunch of other elements as well (Water, Fire, Earth). When Phere actually revived someone (Mosier) it was described as a dark process (see #1758).
Meanwhile, see descriptions for the healing of Gnarlycharlie (confirmed good) in this write-up. (My own healing as well as Guiri’s is also described that way, but we’re not confirmed in your eyes so it doesn’t matter.) Also, see Guiri’s healing on the first Day (before he died and was confirmed good, prior to his resurrection) in #753.
I disagree that we should waste a lynch or kill on someone who was already lynched. We know they were Good when they first died, so are you saying that when the game started, we had no scum whatsoever? As Normal herself said, very early in the game, way before the revivals, pizza told us that if we hunt scum we won’t go wrong, even if we ignore the D&D junk.
Of course it depends on your definition of “scum.” I’m meaning it to mean “person whose actions are anti-Town and are therefore dangerous to us.” The fact that it’s a “Traitor” who’s the so-called mastermind behind Phere kind of implies, at least to me, that this person started out with no allegiences, and those who are 3rd parties perhaps banded together with him/her. Visorslash was Evil – Weedy was Very Evil (maybe she started out as the Traitor but her co-scum members usurped and managed to kill her because they wanted ultimate power, just as Visorslash did; is there ever a mechanic where scum or third party folks kill each other to be the Big Kahuna at the top of the scummy heap?).
Anyway, going back to what Astral said, if we’re agreed to do a mass claim, I’ll join in; as it is I’m fairly sure at least half of you already know.
It would be nice to share all our Night Actions but for some of us it might be a sure fire way to get NK’d, as it is I was blocked last Night, who is going to own up to doing that to me? If there is a scum roleblocker out there they aren’t going to admit it and if it was a Townie, well, I will just shake my head in disbelief.
I don’t agree with Septimus’s vote on Astral, if all the resurrected players are scum recruits that would be a very powerful weapon for scum. The only way I can see that being the case is if there was only one scum to start with.
