I tend to agree with** Normal** about** Astrals** farewell post, it does seem contrived and flat.** Gaderene** has been fighting tooth and nail to stay alive and Astral has really just said that maybe his death would be good for Town. I think Astral is probably telling the truth when he says he’s an Archer but that doesn’t mean that he isn’t scum. It would have looked pretty funny if he’d said he was a submariner I also agree that there is at least one scum on that** Astrals** wagon.

I still don’t know if I want to attack anyone toDay and time is running out. I would hate to kill a Townie by default because I don’t know what others are going to do. Maybe it would be best if I attacked** Lord Phere** because I know he takes damage???

I think the triple votes on Astral were a smoke screen. I think the votes were placed on him and then removed to make him look really scummy. It appears to have worked …

I fully anticipate that the 2 or 3 Scum I believe currently have their votes on Astral are going to jump off the wagon and save him, knowing full well that if he does not get lynched toDay, then he will be the #1 bandwagon toMorrow.

I don’t think that it was a “Poisoning the Well” kind of statement. If someone wants to jump off a bandwagon, let him or her do so. However, I would expect them to have a really good case against the person for whom they switched their vote.

So, Astral is probably Town, but those who Unvote him now are probably Scum. Got it.

I don’t have a “really good case” on anyone right now, even Astral. I asked Townies to spend our (suddenly!) extra 24 hours to “start another wagon;” i.e. to identify a real Scum and avoid a likely misLynch. Sincere Townish help from me, but poorly phrased. I’ll be on the Lynching block soon. What else is new? :dubious:

I feel like he should have a lot more to say if he’s reading through the thread than discussing item votes (which he still doesnt vote) and Gadarene’s legal experience. He’s reading closely enough to keep track of votes, but is just touching lightly on a few issues in commentary.

At the point I made my last post I was up to post 900. That means I have over 400 posts still to reread; a lot of things you think I should have commented on are probably in those 400 posts. For example, why vote on the items when I don’t know the vote status for those items yet?

The only developing issue I didn’t comment on was the votes on PetW, and that was because at 2am I wanted to get to bed. I’ll get to it eventually.

Anything else in the posts to 900 you think I should have commented on?

MHaye: well, anything. I just expect more from someone keeping such detailed notes. Maybe some ideas of your own about someone who hasn’t been discussed, or something different to say. There are so many people, mechanics, things going on. It doesn’t seem to me that you have a lot of ideas about the game, and I find that Scummy from someone who is doing so much reading.

Unless Fubbles has a merchant role of some kind, he isn’t third party.

The neutral alignment is either town wins and you survive, or you have the most money as a neutral.

And even a Merchant role wouldn’t be anti town as third party, so I don’t know why you are pursuing it.

Considering Gad said it was third party when I know for a fact it isn’t, and I’m surprised no one else came out and said it, but it isn’t, and Gad pushing that as third party seems like he is trying to push a lynch onto Fubbles, if you can’t see that.

I don’t think I saw an explanation for this anywhere, how do you know all this exactly?

I want to draw your attention to what happened when Lord Phere was summoned. It appears light, and perhaps (by inference) light magic may damage the demon lord.

Certainly finding and lynching the summoner will hopefully deal with the demon, but if we damage the beast itself, perhaps it will not be able to hurt us quite so much?

Very focused on colour, with little focus on actual players. Has yet to express actual suspicion of anyone except Weedy, but even that was in a very half-hearted way.

I can’t tell with Weedy. She’s a way more experienced player than I am. She’s reminding me sometimes of how she was in the other game I played, where she was scum, but she was flustered then due to out of game conditions, and she has reason to be so at the moment too. So.. I don’t know which way to go. I’ll just have to watch her closely.

I don’t really love the Astral case - I thought his “swansong” post was pretty townie. I’m aware that with the triple voting shenanigans we need a majority on a player, but the idea of voting someone I don’t think is really scummy is very grating.

I get very strong Scum vibes from BobArrgh and certainly won’t move the vote to someone I don’t have a Scum read on. I spent much time searching for the relevant posts to try to understand Normal’s case against MHaye, but it was inconclusive. If someone has a Cliff Notes version of Why MHaye is Scum, I’ll read it and consider.

What we really need is software that learns to recognize, player vs player, the difference between Scum and Town styles. The tell you find against MHaye – can’t discern Scum despite much effort – might be one of my own Scum tells. When I was Scum recently I had great trouble making cases: All the Townies seemed so Townie! :smack:
