I’ve read the stuff from toDay and toNight, but I am unable to provide any clear and cogent thought. I have been at work for over 15 hours now, working with our New York team to roll a huge fundraising site for the US Olympic Team that debuts tomorrow on the Today Show. I am located in Kansas City, but was asked to stay at the office to provide any needed support. We are in the final stages of rolling to production, so hopefully I’ll be able to go home and get some sleep soon.

Astral, I’m sorry to see you get mislynched. I hope we can use your sacrifice properly and nail the Scum.
I did ask** pizzamod** the question as to what happens when you get to zero HP and you do die. That’s why I attacked Lord Phere and not another player.
I find it interesting that Visorslash has been attacked and healed, I wonder if Town are attacking him and scum are healing him just so that he can be the focus of yet another Day?
Oh please.
You know that I have extreme difficulties to read you, even though we’ve played so many games together. You’re too dangerous to be left alone, even if I think you’re innocent. Which I’m starting to doubt.
Because you know all this but still feel the need to question me, as if to make it clear to everyone that this is the case. This seems fishy to me.
Although we have evidence that suggests that you are not in fact scum, such as the very forward position you took in yesterdays lynch. Scum Normal Phase would’ve been laying lower, I think.
On those that are still talking about the triple voter. What he did you cannot regard, it is WIFOM. He could be saving a teammate or he could be framing townies. Who knows.
People who are healing me, thank you. Please heal me again, thanks very much.
What other players/previous games? Visorslash is new here.
Why pick on Mahaloth? This seems like a vote just to have a vote, safely away from any wagons.
That’s it for Day 1.
I don’t like this, and I find it hard to say why. Maybe because he seems to know what is going on here, and be able to assess it and place it with just one post. He does seem surprised by the power though, so that’s good.
You have a Town lean on Visorslash, so why question Inner? SO few posts, and this is what he comments on.
‘Collective town’ really pings me here. Also don’t like the PR hunting on PetW. Actually that question about Inner Stickler protecting Visorslash could also be seen that way.
The first part of the post is talking about items, and how they aren’t important, so why talk about them?
Safe, meaningless questions.
The part about Astral reads as confused. The traitor helping to lynch someone would imply that person was Town, but then he is tempted to vote Astral. Doesn’t make sense.
Here he says he found Astral suspicious initially, but he actually defended him Day 1.
All the aggro, the reason for it, seems to me like Scum reacting to a bad case. Cos they get suspected no matter what they do, and it’s so unfair.
I do think Normal wants to have her cake and eat it too. You can’t get band wagons, and also get everyone voting for their strongest Scum lean, with a nicely laid out case. That’s not the way wagons work. There is a tension between wanting a wagon, and wanting Scum to not have a place to hide that makes wagoning tricky.
It’s not totally WIFOM, though, because other people have seen Normal play Scum and Town, and might have opinions on whether she plays them differently.
The one time I have seen Normal as Scum, she was way more subdued than she was as Town, but I think she had RL issues at the time. Still, I don’t see her playing Town leader quite so vociferously as she is this game.
Guiri apears to have protected Inner Stickler on Day 1, taking 50 HP damage in the process (from Lord Phere, if I’m reading the color correctly)
fubbleskag was attacked by “a glittering bolt of energy”, which you seem to have blocked completely.
So, taking you at your word…
You can block ‘magic’ attacks, and you do not suffer damage as a result, as we saw with several folks on Day 1 (see Guiri, above).
Your protection does not prevent damage that another person receives while they are in turn protecting a third person. Guiri still received damage (redirected from Inner) even though you were protecting him. Another possibility is that Guiri’s damage was physical (the color is not clear on this), and your protection only extends to magic.
I don’t know if this helps us at all, but there it is…
Sure, it’s WIFOM. So is everything else besides Death reveals, (and with Pizza as a mod I’m not even sure we can trust those).
Why do you think we’d be better off ignoring the triple votes? And I don’t believe we know that it’s “a triple voter”. It could be a group of people voting as a bloc, it could be a collective Sum (or other faction) power, or it could be some other game-mechanic based on a trigger we haven’t yet discovered.
@ SP – I was told explicitly (once I asked) that I could never have done anything to prevent Guiri’s injury on day one, since he was never attacked. This is what I was referring to yesterDay when I said I had reason to believe I knew what the order of events was in the write-up. Pizza told me outright Guiri was injured due to protecting Inner, meaning it wasn’t meant to be a mystery.
Protections don’t keep people from the folly of their own actions, in other words.
Ok, I am at work, and not sure I have the time and energy to respond in a dialogue, but I do want to quickly respond to a few points.
He is new here. As am I (at least as far as mafia is concerned). He is not new to mafia and here I am specifically referring to a post by Normal Phase where she specifically mentions he is like this in every game they have played.
As I said in the very post you are referring to, I didn’t like any of the wagons. So that means I have to find someone else to target, doesn’t it?
This is just willful misreading of my post. I said the items probably weren’t important as a winning condition (to most players). Of course items are valuable, especially if they protect you from attacks. And forgive me for wanting to find out what items do. I thought the goal of town players was to gather information.
Hey, here’s something you may have missed. Day 1 in realtime was several days. I did initially find Astral suspicious, but, hey, I changed my mind over the course of the Day. Astral posted a LOT and the tone of his initial posts rubbed me the wrong way but as the day went on, he just seemed more and more town to me. As for the voting, I didn’t really think Astral was scum, but I felt there was a greater chance he could be scum than some other people who could be a target of last minute hidden votes which would tilt the lynch. Ultimately, I still cast (or should I say miscast:smack:) my vote elsewhere.
More or less OK so far IMO. The next one’s the problem – late day two.
Weedy’s right to flag this. There’s nowhere in the game at all that you said anything to indicate you were leaning scum on Astral (much the opposite), and your first post (“starting off” explicitly denied suspicion. This just isn’t right.
The other thing:
Weedy gives points for surprise, but look at it – he calls out five added votes, not just three. The surprise could have been from that. And yet when it comes to the town’s need to prevent against vote shenanigans, what number does he use? THREE. Not five. I’m pretty sure that most of those who were commenting on this did tend to lump all five votes together as potentially suspicious, because I know it was driving me crazy at the time trying to keep my mouth shut on my own little bit of PIS about that. Yet realitytrip only worries about the town needing to cover for the THREE. Not mine or Visorslash’s. I think that may actually be PIS on his part.
