I think Weedy is a huge asset to the town when she is a townie. I trust her ability to make reads, and I think she has a clear and cogent eye for gameflow.

Just FYI I’m going to be relatively swamped (if one can be “relatively swamped”) over the next couple of days, so I won’t be very active again until Friday or possibly Saturday.
I’m kinda surprised to hop on the SDMB and find that no one’s taking a look at the Astral situation; I’d’ve expected more scrutiny of how his flipping Town changes our views of what happened on Days 1 and 2. In fact, one might almost think the conversation has been delicately yet purposely steered away from that topic. But I guess with such a long Night, not to mention the Day ahead, there’s plenty of time to examine Astralgate.
Anyway, I might be able to check in tonight or tomorrow night, but otherwise I need to finish line editing a book, and that must take precedence.
Someone with more free time than me should take a look at the timing of the votes on Astral, especially the torrent that followed once Guiri put his imprimatur on the wagon.
Well I guess I was hoping for someone with more experience of Weedy as a townie to be able to distinguish whether she’s a townie here. I’ve only seen her as a townie once and it was her first game. When I encountered her as a scum, she smoked me.
And that’s the other issue – Weedy WAS one of the late Astral voters.
I’ve played with Weedy a bunch. She’s very, very good, and she can be extremely tricky as scum. I did successfully call her out as scum based on her opening post once, but that’s the exception rather than the rule.
I basically have to gauge her role by how much work I see her putting into the game. So far this game her overall enthusiasm and probing investigation been less than I would expect from her as Town, and I thought her pile-on vote on Astral at the very end of the Day was scummy.
Notwithstanding my own vote on her to end the Day, my scum lean on her is not strong. Indeed, I hope she’s Town, because it would make me feel better about our prospects in winning this game.

But your case on Mahaloth was not any more solid than anyone else’s. What made those case too terrible to vote, but yours was good enough? They seem about the same to me.
I think it’s much easier for Scum to talk about items than it is for them to talk about other players. Your Day 2 was really mechanics focussed.
Then you say all the wagons SUCK, even though you don’t have a read on me, and you think MHaye has he same kind of temperament as you. That’s a really strange reason not to vote for someone.
The post were you defended Astral was your first post after the game started. Maybe you had initial suspicions but you never mentioned them. Your first post says: I think I have finally caught up with all of the posts. Which sounded like you read everything all in one go.

You trounced Scum my first ever Mafia game. Then I was Scum my second. I was hyper-aware of you and crafted all my posts to avoid your radar. I was even telling Septimus: “No, don’t say that. Normal will be all over that.”
I know why you don’t like my Astral vote, and I know the kind of post you would have liked to see instead. I wasn’t very happy about my vote on Astral, and I left it to the last minute to make it (before I went to bed). I think it was the right vote to make under the circumstances, but if it hadn’t have been for the triple voter, I would have left my vote on MHaye.

Gad, you may have missed my questions, since they are buried in multi-quotes, but could you please elaborate on your read on choie, on NAF, and on me? I understand you being wary of me, because I was a bit out of it for the first two Days of this game, but now you are voting me?
Not sure why NAF is Scummy for the abstain vote.
This is realitytrip playing the newbie card on D2. Realitytrip is clearly not a newbie, since he has comments on game balance, assesses wagons and is generally pretty confident in his opinions. I don’t think he has been particularly self-conscious, at least he hasn’t come across that way. This attempt to defend himself rings very false to me.
If I do this toMorrow, would you find it scummy?

There could possibly be scum hiding amongst them (probably even). The only one of the four that I have a slight Town read on is Weedy but she was the last to vote for** Astral**, so I really don’t have a clue yet as to who is scum.
