There’s basically 0 upside to counter claiming at Night. We can’t do anything with the counter claim, and it gives the Wolves and Mafia more info for their kill and/or Night actions. So don’t be so quick to trust.
That said, I totally believe Cookies and Mhaye 99.99%. Ender, more like 80%.
That’s theoretically a possibility. But I’d question why the Wolf team would need to role block a claimed doctor. They have the Outrider. If you’re set on killing Septimus, the logical progression would be to first target him with the Outrider during the Day. If that kills him, problem solved. If it doesn’t, he’s not protecting himself and you can hit him at Night.
Of course, Cookies has now claimed (or confirmed) being the SK. Assuming that’s truthful, I guess I’d be curious on why she selected Septimus. He’s the Doctor and he’s most likely going to protect himself Day 1 meaning the odds are not in your favor to connect with a Kill versus literally picking anyone else in the game at random.

Serial killers are usually 3rd party hostile, and docs can generally self protect but the don’t always in her shoes i may have targeted him too.

I cannot conceive of a scenario where Cookies’ claim is fake. It’s conceding the inevitable. “It’s a fair cop.” There’s no gambit where that’s a good fake claim for scum unless they are trying to buy one more day for another obvious target. Even then, I think the chances that they’re trying to draw attention from Hal are remote.
However, I think Hal makes a better lynch candidate. He’s almost surely scum. (There are scenarios where he is not, and if he plans on making that case, he needs to do it near Dawn.) Killing scum advances the win condition. Killing a SK does not. If we get two lynches, Cookies makes a lot of sense as #2, but I think Hal is the #1 lynch candidate.
I agree with this assessment. Counters should come at Dawn to give scum one less chance to kill the claimant, but to allow the most time to vet and assess the claim. Cookies essentially confirms Mhaye. Cookies confession makes almost no sense as a gambit while confirming Mhaye. Ender’s claim isn’t bulletproof but should be believed in the absence of a counter.
Help me understand this.
If we leave Cookies alive, we (probably) lose another townie tomorrow night. Killing the SK may not advance our win condition, but losing townies accelerates our loss condition. Killing a scum will not save any townie lives unless we wipe out a faction altogether.
Certainly it makes sense to keep Cookies alive if we think it will result in extra scum deaths, but otherwise why should we leave an extra hostile kill on the board?

You’re assuming that Cookies hits town. That’s not necessarily the case. It seems that Cookies has hit scum several times already.
And you’re assuming that Cookies hits scum. I agree that keeping her alive is just fine if that happens.
My question is this: with it being a given that we don’t know who Cookies will hit, why is Hal the better choice?
I’m by no means against a Cookies lynch. Cookies is a dead player walking at this point. But Hal needs to be pressured and is target #1.
