I misunderstand the Jester role, or this is incorrect. The Jester can only recruit Vanilla.

I swapped myself and Blaster Master.
I know that by claiming I’m locking us onto to this path. I think that it’s a good idea so I’m going to fully claim. I was hoping to see what CIAS claimed first hoping I could verify him but that doesn’t look like that the claim is coming any time soon.

And where does it say that the target of choice has to be vanilla :dubious:
From this, the new recruit will be vanilla, but why can the target of choice not be a power role. So effectively, a successful recruit can remove a town power role from the game.
Personally, I am working through my concerns to ensure the plan is valid instead of just following along.
If you are right and I am wrong and they can only recruit a vanilla scientist, this game is more or less over and a mass role claim is the right thing to do.

Well, now that the topic has changed, I might as well say this now:
I have a feeling that the Jester is going to -try- to get lynched before there are less than 12 people left in the game. It’s really something we need to be aware of, especially if somebody starts spouting off at the mouth with a bunch of nonsensical claims (not including, of course, reading a role description completely wrong! :p)

Anyway, the only strong argument against the mass claim so far seems to be the recruitment problem, which story has tried to address with this:
I must admit that answer doesn’t exactly fill me with confidence. And I am also slightly concerned that the game is going to become a little “cookie-cutter” after this, and thus less fun. But the numbers don’t lie, and what the hell, some town needs to try a mass claim at some point, why not this one?

OUT OF GAME PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT
The off-board game recently came to a close. The next off-board game will be starting quite soon; sign-ups have been underway for some time, but we still have two open slots.
The game will be moderated by Kat and myself; sachertorte and Captain Klutz also contributed to the game design. It will be a completely closed, no vanilla game, no recruitment, no post restrictions, with a Marvel comics theme.
We really need two more players, and can’t start without them. Once we have all slots filled, we can start the new game. So if you missed sign-ups for this one and are following along, are recently dead and want another game, or want to take on two at once, come on down!
Now, returning to our regularly scheduled game.
There may be people who feel it is better not to claim even with this turn of the game. In which case they have two alternatives; hide and hope no-one notices, or say so and explain why.
Me? I’m gong to test the water.
I am town-aligned, but not a vanilla Scientist. I remain reticent about my exact role at this time.
