The way to stop this from happening is to make it not have the desired result.
If instead of getting modkilled, nonvoters start the day with a number of vote points equal to three times the number of days they have failed to vote, it will be harder and harder for them to avoid being the condemned at the end of the day.
If they’ve been not voting to get modkilled and thus clear the way for the rest of their team to win, they become a mislynch, thus making it harder for their team to win.
That on top of failing to have their say in who should be lynched, thus allowing the scum more influence than they should have.

Well, in his explanation, he did say “assuming everyone else has been truthful.” However, if your plan is to claim something already claimed by another player, then just remember: if you’re actually Town: (1) you have just caught scum; and (2) you have made yourself essentially un-Night-killable, at least for the near future. Bear those things firmly in mind as you proceed.

I’m just going to assume I’m playing at this point since neither Koldanar nor drainbead has posted in a while. I will also say I’m not a fan of modkilling myself just to “win” the game. Bleck.
So that the scum are forced to claim Vanilla. Otherwise, they will pair up with a conformable town member. This reduces the pool we have to look into to find them. We also have roles that can protect our power roles at Night, as well as switch an attempted kill onto a Vanilla, further lowering the pool. We need all the power roles to claim, or this won’t work.

Speaking of, I don’t believe you ever addressed this concern I had Yesterday:
I did, with my first post of the night. I wasn’t particularly concerned about ordering my candidates, in either of my two votes.
so if i’m doing my sums right thats 8 claims of vanilla (out of 5 left alive) That means 3 scum have already claimed (minimum) and have all gone vanilla. Who hasn’t claimed yet? They’re either all town or have 1 scum amongst them. Thats the group we need to look at.
