MAFIA: The Game - Ideal for Beginners [Game in Progress]

I wanna go back here again. Thing Fish, I’m not sure I agree. **Septimus **claim came out of nowhere, two minutes before the deadline. Me and several others didn’t feel we had much reason to lean town on him, let alone think he had a power-role. The claim itself was also suspect. It was hastily put together, no pm, and read more like a desperate plea. There would be plenty of time to prepare a fake claim, yes, but scum wouldn’t have had much reason to suspect a claim even entering the discussion. Also, at that point a counter-claim would have put suspicion on them instead. If we assume scum was carefully counting votes and had a fake counter ready, *they *did the right play not posting it. Strategically, wolves would be better off keeping silent and hoping the lynch would go their way, rather than giving people reasons to suspect them the next day.

To clarify: “Them” being the counter-claimer.

I’m happy seeing DanteG getting attention. I am wondering if I should help with bringing him a step closer to the gallows or not. I’m still happy with my vote, but in TexCat’s defense, she has posted posts with some substance in them toDay. DanteG, do you have a defense other than “being used to a different way of playing” and “I messed up”? Personally, I don’t really care how you played on another board, it’s pretty irrelevant here. One of the things I felt off about **Septimus **was his harping on **Chronos **because of how **Chronos **had behaved in other games. This is a new game, with different(some new) players in a different situation. How you usually play isn’t important here and now. If you are town, why not **help **town, by giving us good reasons for keeping you in our village?

OOG: I should drink more coffee before posting. I’ll be able to follow today, but I’ll be quite busy beginning of nextDay.

OOG: To explain myself a bit; english is my second language. I use english a lot, but every time I open this thread I have to switch from thinking in norwegian to thinking in english. I am also visiting Norway for the first time in a year, since I live and study abroad. I am tired of thinking in english and it’s been very nice to speak and think in my native language. I realise this may not have been the best time to enter a game such as this, but I was too tempted.

On the exhilarating-comment: Confused as I was, I thought it was a tie. I wasn’t keeping a meticulous personal vote-count. I also didn’t know if **Septimus **really was a Guardian, so I was exited to see how everything would turn out.

Caught up yet? That post was back on August first. There’s not a lot of time, sir.

Coming into the morning stretch, DanteG has 7, TexCat has 5 (if I’ve counted correctly). I have no plans to switch my vote. OTOH, if I do, it would more or less prove I’m not on TexCat’s side. Hmm…

If you are BOTH town…you are on TexCat’s side. Or do you know something we do not?

  1. I know you’ve pegged me as being on the same side as TexCat.
  2. I know you’ve voted for TexCat.
  3. I know I’m Town.

So who has not voted?

If Bayard’s post giving the votes in 884 is correct, then the only one who hasn’t voted is Sario.

And I missed Bayard’s vote in that post which makes the frontrunners DanteG at 8, and TexCat at 5.

Here’s what I have, building on Bayard’s vote count above. I think these are much more useful with unvotes included, but I don’t have time this morning to go through and do that.

  1. Dante G (8 votes) - Prof. Pepperwinkle (703), Diggitcamara (764), Thing Fish (808), Cygnus42 (852), Johnny Bravo (869), JSexton (878), Bayard (884), Mahaloth (896)
  2. TexCat (4 votes) - Biotop (701), Nonsuch (741), Plumpudding (746), Jimmy Chitwood (875)
  3. Thing Fish (1 vote) - Precambrianmollusc (718)
  4. sangfroid (1 vote) - TexCat (877)

I think that means the non-voters are:
Dante G
Sario
Sangfroid

No guarantees of accuracy.

sangfroid voted for Texcat in Post 899.

So, DanteG and Sario have no current votes.

Sangroid is voting TexCat.

Aight.

  1. Dante G (8 votes) - Prof. Pepperwinkle (703), Diggitcamara (764), Thing Fish (808), Cygnus42 (852), Johnny Bravo (869), JSexton (878), Bayard (884), Mahaloth (896),
  2. TexCat (5 votes) - Biotop (701), Nonsuch (741), Plumpudding (746), Jimmy Chitwood (875), Sangfroid (899)
  3. Thing Fish (1 vote) - Precambrianmollusc (718)
  4. sangfroid (1 vote) - TexCat (877)

That means the non-voters are:
Dante G
Sario

Couple hours to go…

While I understand Jimmy Chitwood’s point in #875 - that a lynch of **Texcat **would possibly be more informative to town than Dante G - I’m confident in my vote on Dante. There’s been a general air of scumminess coming from him all game - so I’d be surprised to be wrong about that one

Once the Dante G situation is resolved, we can try to figure things out further with Texcat.

You could be right about JSexton. Something still has Mahaloth convinced he’s scum. IF JSexton is scum, the votes may not have piled on me because of the Plumpudding factor. By that point in the day, no one may have wanted to be seen siding with Plum. Shrug Just a theory.

If Dante G. is town, why would he not vote? At least to leave a record of his final thoughts if lynched?

If town wins, all town players living or dead are winners.

That may be why my vote of Plum drew suspicion, but it looked to me like my lynch was pretty much a done deal at that point. I moved my vote to Plum, exactly for reason #2, to highlight how scummy I thought he was. You should note that when Septimus acquired enough votes to be a viable lynch, I moved back to him, just as I said I would.

I don’t vouch for the 100% accuracy of my back-of-the-napkin tally, but my record of unvotes is:

Bayard: [del]Plumpudding[/del] Dante G
Dante G: [del]Plumpudding[/del]
Mahaloth: [del]JSexton[/del] Dante G
Plumpudding: [del]Dante G[/del] TexCat
Thing Fish: [del]Precambrianmollusc[/del] Dante G

Seems a pretty stable field all things considered.

Firstly, I would like to apologize for my lack of participation this week. If I continue to be unable to keep up I will ask Story to sub me out.

Secondly, as it’s almost EOD and I’ve not been able to do an in depth read through, I will not be voting.

Again, I’m sorry about missing so much, I will hopefully be able to keep up better going forward from here.

So scum are either ok with Dante swinging , or figured he cant be saved so piled on in at the end there.

anyway just to go on the record
unvote Thingfish
vote Sangfroid
