Aw goddamn it. Sorry, Precambrian. (And fellow Townies!)
Ah well…sorry PCM. Thought we had that one figured out.
Good luck town - see all y’all at the end game party, now off to the forbidden thread, those guys have been busy over there by the looks of the post count.
Phooey, phooey, phooey!
Y’all are gonna drive me to drink…
…even more…
Sorry, PCM.
Damned if this ain’t a nail-biter of a game…
And my ellipsis abuse will continue forthwith until town wins!
…
and may I repeat: Phooey!
Hey, look, Dante G’s got a signup thread for a new game!
steps in
Thanks for the mention, Pepperwinkle.
*steps out *
I am sooooooo wanting to see what the heck is going on in the dead thread, but I’m a good boy…
Feelin’ sorta like the classic Mexican Standoff, by gum.
And somebody around here’s got perfect hair and a Piña Colada in one hand…
Yeah, I kinda can’t wait to see what’s going on in the other thread too. Probably a lot of ‘OMG Clueless Noobs!’
Anyway, almost time for this night to wrap up…we’ll soon see who is left to figure out that last pesky wolf.
Given the past interferences by Life into Storyteller’s schedule, I should not refresh every minute. I probably will though.
THE LAST DAY
*And so, around the long-ignored silver sword discarded by the Guardian so long ago, they gathered one last time. It had been only eight days, but to them - steeped in the blood and tears and fur of their departed companions - it seemed to have been a much longer time. Fifty six days. Like, at least.
With determination each of them marshaled their arguments.
Well, except for Professor Pepperwinkle. He was dead.*
Professor Pepperwinkle, a Peasant, has been Night killed.
Day Nine will begin here, and the Day will end upon the lynch, on Monday, September 21 at noon-ish. Best of luck to those who remain.
Well Prof P, sorry to see you go. Hopefully we can close this thing out for you.
I have to admit, starting this thing so may days ago (56, apparently) - I didn’t expect to still be in it at the very end. Mostly, I just didn’t want to go out first, like the first person to get the boot on Survivor every year. Nobody wants to be that person.
Anyway, down to 3 - myself, sangfroid, Nonsuch.
I’ll have to go take another look at what PCM had to say about Nonsuch over the last few days, while pleading his case.
I realize I said we should just vote PCM, then Nonsuch - but I want to reassure myself that I’m not missing some important clue. I was suspicious of sangfroid earlier in the game too - I’ll have to revisit that as well.
It’s down to you. Choose well. Go Town!
And now to see how badly I did in the Forbidden Thread.
If I can code this properly…voting record for the three remaining contestants:
Day **Cygnus42** **Nonsuch** **sangfroid**
1 septimus Dante G Texcat
2 Dante G Texcat Texcat
3 JSexton JSexton Texcat-->JSexton
4 Sario PCM Texcat
5 Plum Plum Diggit (*)
6 Diggit Diggit JohnnyB
7 JohnnyB PCM JohnnyB
8 PCM PCM PCM
Ok, now that it looks readable, some things to note:
-
I voted to lynch all 4 known wolves. Go Me!
-
Nonsuch has lynched 2 wolves, but both on days where the vote didn’t matter. On Day 3, we had the Seer result + JSexton surrender claim - so a vote elsewhere wouldn’t have mattered. On Day 6, he broke the tie between two wolves. So, he was stuck voting for a wolf either way. Every other day, he’s avoided voting wolf.
-
sangfroid has 3 wolf kills to his name. The vote on day 5 is significant though (hence the *) - while the rest of us were incorrectly lynching PlumPudding, he put the last vote on Diggit - while Diggit had a lead over Plum. The Plum bandwagon took off after that, however. Woulda been easy to avoid the wolf vote there and go Plum instead.
Based on this view, it seems highly likely that Nonsuch is the guilty party here.
It also occurs to me that I’m pretty much talking to myself here - it seems likely that Nonsuch and sangfroid will vote for each other, leaving me to break the tie.
Nonsuch - is there a case to be made that sangfroid is the remaining wolf, and not you?
Yep.
Thanks for the work, Cygnus. I had planned to do something similar myself, having finally come to grips with my general ineptitude overall.
But hey - here we are.
vote Nonsuch
Now then, does a wolf-pelt rug by the hearth in the Cecilton Inne sound too over-the-top to you?
It’d make for a great conversation piece when the Town gets repopulated…
ETA:
Sorry to be a bit late today - had my class this evening.
Then got mildly lost on the way home.
I’ve lived here for 15 years.
:smack:
Yes. I am working on a post to that end and will have it ready soon-ish. (It’s a longie.)
24 hours later…it must be really long.
Maybe the wolf skipped town instead…
Just checking in and such.
Whatever Nonsuch has to say of me, I can only reiterate that other than the whole Texcat debacle, for which I still feel crappy about, I have always tried to come down on the side on our Town.
I would be nothing short of astonished if you were our last wolf, Cygnus, so that only leaves one hairy-handed gent left in the room.
If I learned anything here in this game, it’s that I am soooo using a spreadsheet next time I play!
