It doesn’t really matter to me, but since you asked (thanks!), it’s her. I’ve got the ladybits. (And now we pause while people ask, “Cite?”)
I think you should explain why you wanted to know the timing of my night order. I gave you the benefit of the doubt by “going first” when you asked. Time for you to reciprocate.
Given their limited kills, I can see a pretty obvious one - let us waste our protective powers, and give us another chance at a mislynch (and possibly taking out someone with a protective power). Lowers the chance that they’ll lose a kill to a protector, since they won’t necessarily get another chance, depending what-all tools they have, and which protector blocks which attack.
My “rant” about a parenthetical was a whole sentence, but yeah, you totally got me there. I’ve posted a bunch of responses to Stanislaus; I’m sorry that I didn’t do a very good job of explaining myself. And since I didn’t vote for you, do I get to lose that OMGUS stain? ![]()
I don’t know what to do with Mosier’s claim. It’s got a lot of “cool story, bro” (yep, I’m stealing that!) to me. I see that SP has confirmed that he didn’t act last night, so that’s something. I don’t know if I really follow Mosier’s reasoning behind targeting Plankton - I don’t know whether scum would target someone without a lot of scrutiny on D1. And I find it odd that Mosier used his power on someone that he had very little interaction with or suspicion about, but perhaps he really did let the voting lead him.
Mosier, before settling on Suburban Plankton, did you take a look at Alka Seltzer or KellyCriterion? Are there reasons you didn’t choose either of them?
Eh. I can kind of see that, and I’m not going to rule out the possibility. But I don’t think it’s likely. Sure, if they run up against the monk’s power they lose the knife, but what are the odds of that? 1/15. And that’s assuming the monk even uses his power on N1.
Meanwhile, there’s a 47% chance of all three investigators being town (though Scum knows with 100% certainty exactly how many are in play) and a 53% chance of them hitting at least one Scum in a N1 investigation.
Anyway, if we boil it down to this simple scenario of 3 investigators being Town, Monk being Town, and everyone using their powers N1, it’s 3 times more likely to hit an investigator than it is to be blocked by a protection.
NETA: or Inner Stickler or **Stanislaus **or **Babale **or **gnarlycharlie **or **sinjin **or fubbleskag? They didn’t garner any votes at all.
I can’t see scum voluntarily forgoing a NK. My money’s on a block or protect.
No one said this.
:snipped:
Of course there may not be, but there also may be. Most people play scum the exact way they would play as Town, especially on day 1. I see no reason to lead us away from the people that voted on Visor.
vote TexCat
Why must we go first?
Oh, and I believe Mosier’s claim and I am of the opinion that anyone who learned anything last night should go ahead and tell us. Like Mosier said, it is likely to help Town more than scum.
TexCat, I’m hoping you can provide some enlightenment here.
YesterDay, you voted for Visor late. You were second to last to vote for him after the bandwagon had already been established. Pretty safe vote there. You ALSO voted for no lynch, which is really strange and conflicting. We’d already established that no-lynch wasn’t good strategy but you wanted to muddle things up anyway.
ToDay, you’re advocating that we not investigate the people who voted for Visor because clearly there wouldn’t be scum there. Hey! Coincidence! That includes you!
Instead we should focus on people that voted for other people. Hey! Coincidence! That ignores your “no-lynch” vote and therefore doesn’t include you!
Your whole voting record and rationale behind your attempts at Town direction seem really shady.
I was wondering if you’d had a chance to read a specific night post.
If you’re looking for reciprocation, I fully expect to come under scrutiny when/if I claim.
Says the guy with 3 posts all game. :dubious: It’s not for me to dictate what people do and don’t comment on, but assessing claims is an important tool for catching scum. There is no pro-town motive for ignoring it.
Good that you are taking a position on this, but I’d also like to hear why you trust the claim please.
I did not argue that scum would target someone with little scrutiny. I argued that the scum who used the tool would himself be someone who enjoyed little scrutiny. Scum wouldn’t pick someone to make the night kill who would be likely to be under watch. They knew the summoner was active.
I said before that I picked Suburban Plankton to watch because he was not under much pressure during the Day. There were quite a few targets that fit the criteria, but I can only watch one. There’s no particular significance to the fact that it was him and not whoever you (collective you) wish it would have been.
The reciprocation I was referring to was for you to explain the significance of the timing question. I’m not asking you to claim. I think you knew that already, though.
I just do.
Given that we’ve already decided there’s little point to fake claiming in this game, I’m not sure why it’s worth noting one trusts a claim or not. I won’t be surprised at all if Mosier dies and flips Summoner.
Ok…then let’s put it this way: Do you trust the claim simply on a gut level, or do you have any other reason (that you can, of course, keep to yourself if you like) to back it up?
In other words, are you guessing or an investigator. Nice and subtle.
Those are the main two. A third would be if Mosier dropped some subtle hint that Mahaloth picked up on.
Aha - I get it now. Thanks for posting that; the clarification helps. I was thinking exactly backwards.
I’m going to place a vote on Mahaloth. He’s barely posting at all. On a read-through, his posts seemed to me to be pushing for the use of as many town powers as possible, as soon as possible, or short on any actual real content. And his recent “I just do” kind of rubs me the wrong way. Mahaloth, could you be more forthcoming? Maybe a vote will help in that department.
Vote Mahaloth
I’ll probably revisit this later.
