Hmm…I had said there was a one-in-three spot for the Prioress to try and hide, but it’s actually one-in-four – I had forgotten that, while semi-confirmed, Stanislaus has not made a role claim as of yet. So, for purposes of this, I’m grouping him in with the rest.
If Visorslash wants to put out an order, I’m cool with that – but really, I’m fine with players coming clean the next time they post. A town player is going to want to get their role out there as quickly as possible, and let’s face it, toDay’s lynch is going to be a 50/50 between the Prioress and whoever is matching up with the Prioress’ claim. They can try and play it with whoever is most suspicious, but really, it’ll be a coin flip. Scum will be lynched – the only question is if it’s toNight or tomorrow Night.
Holding out, waiting to see who claims what first, will be biggest suspicious move someone can make right now, IMO.
So then, Babale, MentalGuy, Astral Rejection and Stanislaus – you’ve got Merchant, Monk, Cook and Prioress unclaimed. What say you?
I appreciate your wariness of my PM to you. And for the record to everyone else, that PM was sent on Night 1.
I sent it fully aware of the risk that you’d turn around and label me Scum. I considered it an acceptable risk to take. It wasn’t done to cozy up to you. To be brutally honest, I never expected you to last as long in the game as you had, which is precisely why I sent that PM in the first place. You were a target and, while I assumed you had come to that conclusion yourself I wanted to make you aware of it so that, should you choose, you could say what you needed to say before you died.
The rationale behind my reasoning still stands even now. So if scum haven’t figured it out I’m not going to help them along by continuing to discuss it.
FTR, my wife is calling me scum right now. Mainly because I should be doing some housework right now and not posting as much on this game thread (or anywhere online)
No matter when it’s done, scum has exactly three fake claims they can make. They can claim Merchant, Monk or Cook, and it doesn’t matter when they make the claim, there will still be a counter-claim.
Let’s say the scum Prioress is going to claim Monk. If they claim it before the actual Monk, then the real Monk will come in and say “that guy is scum because I’m the real Monk”. If the real Monk claims first, then scum will come in and say the exact same thing. We’re going to have pretty close to a coin flip either way.
Like I said, I can pretty much get behind the idea of a claiming order, and I’d be happy if Visorslash would come in and post an order, but if he doesn’t post an order by tomorrow afternoon (real time), then it’ll get into “put up or shut up” time for the four unknowns.
There’s a fairly obvious case for a Town Prioress not claiming:
SP was a virtual certainty to lynch in any case.
Scum may have the Bloody Spear.
Protective roles who admit their existence on a Day when a scum is runaway vote leader have a good chance of having their (self) protective abilities rendered null by use of the Bloody Spear by the already IDed scum. I wouldn’t have claimed under those circumstances.
We’ve run away with this idea that SP would have used a team-mate’s roleclaim because…??? why exactly ???. without ever really examining it.
So, everyone who’s sure the Prioress is scum - how does the Bloody Spear fit into your assessment?
Enderw24’s PM is not allowed by game rules, no? That seems suspicious to me. Hal killed Town. And useful Town at that–a Vig. A Vig who was trying to kill Scum, and actually succeeded. Now, Hal claims to have reasons for killing Town. But what if he’s lying? What if he’s decide to work with Scum and therefore killed someone he thought was dangerous? Either Hal is against us, or he’s a loose cannon that’s already proved himself deadly. Therefore, Vote: Hal.
I think you may have misunderstood what’s on the table here. We’re looking for you to post the order in which you want Babale, MentalGuy, Astral Rejection and Stanislaus to role-claim. Analyze it, pick them at random, whatever you wish – but sooner would be better than later.
I killed Mahaloth simply for being the unknown player with the fewest posts, working under the theory that he’s generally a good player so scum would have likely recruited him, and I thought he was laying very low. If you can find something in his limited posts that made him more “dangerous” than anyone else, I’d love to hear it.
So, “he’s attempting to work in a pro-town manner every step of the way and until scum hunting isn’t that important, he’ll permanently count in favor of town in the win condition totals” is off the table, huh? Why do I get the feeling you’re going to be one of the two on the line when the role-claims come out?
I’m going to be at work to the next 12 hours, so I’ll go ahead and claim now, even though I think I’m more heedful unclaimed. I am the Monk, and I have not yet used my power. Happy, Hal and Visor?
Well, I think it begs the question of what exactly you’re waiting on to use your power. In general, the odds aren’t in your favor of choosing correctly. If only there was a high target, high probability kill like, say, The Seraph, that could have been foiled. Alas, huh?
For a role that can waste a scum nightkill, you sure are leaving it a bit late to use your power. And its a bit strange you didn’t protect Mosier either!
